Thinking of You

This card was made from snippets found in my large stash of leftover bits and pieces. The brown panel was embossed with a Tasteful Textiles EF from SU! and the flowers were cut with a Memory Box Prim Poppy die. The lightly textured tan panel was saved from a pile of note cards my mother had with her name printed at the top. I added some pink Nuvo drops for the finishing touch and added this to a pink card base.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Allsorts Challenge week #737 - A/G or use this mood board

Can You Handle the Pressure - use an embossing folder A/G * twist of stars

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #7 - A/G Flowers or use this mood board

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day. We're bracing for torrential rains and flooding tomorrow all day long so I'm keeping my fingers crossed 😓

July 4th

Here's a card I made for the July 4th holiday coming up. I used a very old Sweet 'n Sassy Cocoa mouse digital image with a firecracker along with an older piece of double sided dsp that I got at Tuesday Morning years ago. I used some MFT stitched square dies to cut the image and red mat and added a sparkly blue star done with a (r) SU! mini punch. The sentiment was computer generated and die-cut with a MFT fishtail banner die. The background design was made using the Freshly Made Sketch challenge #591 but I needed to change the sentiment placement with the image I used. Seeing the sketch design and my card side-by-side I realize I reversed the design too...sigh. Some days I'm a hopeless case 😋

Thanks for stopping by today and make it a good one. Keep smiling 😁

Father's Day Card

I made this card for a friend's hubby who loves to play golf. I feel pretty certain that he'll be on the golf course this coming Sunday when we celebrate Father's day, so I just went with that thought in creating this card. The Father's day sentiment is inside the card.
I created the skies with T.E. stencils and some Tumbled Glass ink, and then added 3 tiny birds done with a SNSS stamp. The green hillsides were done with Lawn Fawn dies, and the golf bag was done with a Tutti designs die, colored with Copics.  His golf bag is red, white, and blue which is why I chose those colors. The sentiment is also from SNSS.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Cardz 4 Guyz #324 - Father's Day UK & USA

June Stencil Fun Challenge -A/G using a stencil *option, use layered stencils

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Thinking of You

My card today was made with bits of designer paper found in my snippets box. The frame was left over from a previous project where I only used the inside piece. I had another small piece of that same paper that I die-cut with a MFT stitched die and placed it behind the layered image panels. The aqua paper was bought pre-embossed at Tuesday Morning years ago. The butterfly die was made with MB Vivienne and Darla dies and adorned with 2 teardrop pearls. The sentiment was heat-embossed with white embossing powder and a Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment stamp from SU!

I'll share with these challenges:

The Triple B April Challenge - use a bloom, butterfly or bird or all 3

Thanks for the visit and it's great to see you stopping by. Have a great day!

Thinking of You

This card was made with some beautiful SU! Wonderful World papers a thoughtful friend shared with me recently. I was inspired by this design for using designer papers to create my card, and I'm happy with the way it turned out. I used a MB pair of Vivienne and Darla butterfly dies along with a MFT stitched circle die for the image panel. The sentiment was done with an Elizabeth Craft designs die. This reminds me of spring with the butterfly and spring floral papers! I long for the warmer weather......until it gets too hot and then I'll long for the colder temps again 😉

I'll share this card with the following challenges:

Tic Tac Toe Challenge 201- I used the far right vertical of butterfly, patterned paper, and floral

Cards 4 Galz #195 - spring flowers

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a happy crafty day!

Birthday Kitty

Today I have a card made for a special little girl who has a birthday coming up next month. I used some royal blue cardstock along with a Spellbinders scalloped square die and a Lil Inker die-cut sentiment. The Penny Black image was colored with Copics, and I added some glaze pen rainbow colors to the balloon. The little banner is brand new and from a set of Sizzix thinlet dies I recently won. I had to add a touch of pink to this card since it's for a girl. The ef is by Cuttlebug and I die-cut the sentiment 3 times, stacked it, and covered it with glossy accents.

I'm sharing with these challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure- A/G must use an EF *optional rainbows

Critter Crazy Challenge #72 - A/G but must use a critter

NBUS Challenge #48 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Seize the Birthday Challenge #257 - A/G *optional -Card for a Child

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Masculine Birthday Card

I made this card for my brother-in-law who will be turning 81 soon. I die-cut the numbers using SU! large number dies (r) and heat-embossed them with silver and gold embossing powder; using an older (r) SU! mini background stamp set. I matted the black piece with some gold matte cardstock, then matted that piece with a piece of mirror silver card. The striped dsp is (r) from SU! and the pre-printed sentiment was purchased from Simon Says Stamp.

I'll enter this into these challenges:

The Craft Rocket Challenge #96 - dots and/or stripes
( I used both dots and stripes)

(I used the retired SU! large number dies)

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is a great one!

Encouragement Card

I need to make a few encouragement cards, and this is the first one. I used  2 stamp sets - one from Simon Says Stamp and another from Lawn Fawn;  combining both to create a rainy day scene. The die-cut border is from Sweet 'n Sassy while the doggie image is from SSS. I stamped, colored and fussy-cut the umbrella, dog, and boots and placed them on top of the raindrop-stamped card base. I added turquoise stickles and aqua Nuvo drops on the umbrella to add some sparkle and shine and hand-drew the handle with a black marker.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn.
Here's what I added to the inside and colored with my Tombow markers - also done with the Lawn Fawn set.

I hope this card will bring a little smile to someone going through rough times.

I'm sharing with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is
 "Shimmer and Shine."

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a great weekend!

Violets

My favorite color combo is purple and green, and I pulled these snippets of cardstock and designer paper from my stash to make this card. I stumbled upon a very old rubber stamp I hadn't used in years and decided to make a card with it. I stamped the violets in Desert Sand ink, then colored them with Tombow markers. I die-cut the panel with an unbranded stitched tag die and placed it on a purple panel that was die-cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. I also used the rectangle dies to cut the polka dot paper. I added a little ribbon bow and then used a retired SU! mini tag punch to cut the tag, stamping and heat-embossing the "hello" from a (r) SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, and finishing with a tiny lavender gemstone. I had to search my blog back to 2010 to find out who made this stamp and it turns out it was from Susan's Card Art Designs and they closed in 2017.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a great start to the weekend! Take care and keep smiling :)

Birthday Hugs

While rummaging through my stash, I found several of these lovely hand-crocheted medallions sent to me by a former blogger who passed away several years ago. Her name was Jessi Fogan and her blog was One Crafty Mama. I've used several of them previously, but decided it does no good to hoard beautiful items like this, so I used another one to make this birthday card.
I die-cut a stitched circle of pink to place inside of the medallion and added some die-cut SSS Bella Bloom flowers from pink glitter paper and silver mirror card, adding a drop of black Nuvo pearls to the centers. The butterfly was a die-cut with pink Nuvo pearls added to the center and the sentiment is a pre-printed SSS sentiment backed with some black card.
As for the background - this is one of my favorite ways to use those tiny snippets of cardstock and I think it's called Mosaic. I still have my ancient Xyron machine which adds a complete layer of adhesive to a piece of card. I snipped pieces of matching cardstocks in random fashion and adhered them to the sticky side, then added some pearl embossing powder and heat set it.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday #240 - favorite technique (mosaic)

Birthday Card

I pulled out my old Martha Stewart balloon punch to make some colorful balloons from snippets and that's where this card began. I embossed a background snippet of SU! cardstock (I think it's Coastal Cabana) with a Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder and found matching pieces of polka dot and striped dsp to match. The stitched frame was die-cut from a snippet of wood-grain dsp. and placed on top. That cute little mouse was done with a Gerda Stein stamp, colored with Copics and fussy cut and placed inside the window. the sentiment was done with Gina Marie Designs dies and some SSS white embossed cardstock, and I tied all the balloons together with some aqua twine. I was pretty pleased with how this turned out :)

I'll enter this into these challenges:

Mother's Day Blooms

I made another Mother's day card using my favorite color combo of purple and green. I found this die-cut frame sent to me by a thoughtful blogging friend some time ago and decided it was time to use it. I stamped and embossed the Hero Arts flower 3 times with silver embossing powder and fussy cut each of the 3 layers; popping them up on foam bits. The green leaves were also embossed in silver and fussy cut. The sentiment was done with a (r) SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp and more silver embossing powder, then punched with a (r) SU! word window punch. For the final touch, I added some crystal beads to the flower center and along one side of the frame.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

The Color Hues Challenge #39 - purple and green

the Allsorts Challenge #673 - something beginning with "B"
(blooms, beads)

I noticed things have changed here on blogger with a recent update, so apparently I can no longer copy & paste graphics for challenges. I guess I will have to stop using them in my posts. I hate when things change in this regard as it makes it difficult for me to learn all the new ways of doing things.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day ahead!

St. Patrick's Day Card

I make a couple St. Patrick's day cards to send out each year, and this one is going to a friend who sent me this cute Brutus Monroe gnome die last year. The rainbow and clouds were done with Lil Inker dies and the cauldron was made with a retired SU! ornament punch, altered a bit with legs added. The golden shamrocks were done with Taylored Expressions dies and the "good luck" on the cauldron is a peel-off sticker. The sentiment panel was done with a Sweet 'n Sassy ticket die and the sentiment was done with a long-retired SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp (2009). I added a little shamrock sticker to the sentiment panel and some sparkly green Stampendous peel-off stickers to the gnomes hat and tassel. The clouds were lightly sponged with some Tumbled Glass ink and I covered them both with clear Wink of Stella. I colored the gnome's gloves with a fluorescent green Copic marker in keeping with the "green" holiday.

I'll enter this card into the following challenges:

The Four Seasons March Spring Challenge A/G with this mood board

the Sisterhood of Crafters - use an old rejected stamp and mention how old
(the Happy Saint Patrick's day sentiment - 2009)

The Allsorts Challenge #667 - Spring is in the Air

I wish spring was in the air, but in my area we're bracing for a few inches of snow and freezing temperatures throughout the day, so I'll have to wait a bit longer for spring. It will be a good day to work on crafts and put a big pot of home made soup on the stove.
Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a great weekend whatever you do!

Bermuda Bay Birthday

I made this card after watching a video by the Paper Pixie where she used 3 sizes of circle die-cuts to make this design. I had a few precious snippets of leftover Bermuda Bay designer paper and decided to give this technique a go. I used 3 Spellbinder circle dies and got started. I used a WeRMemoryKeepers Gemstone embossing folder to create the background, then used a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment matted with black. For the final touch, I added 3 drops of Nuvo black drops.

I'll share this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Emboss it

Rainbow Valentine Card

I was pulling out little snippets of colorful cardstock to make this card with all the die-cut stitched hearts after seeing the Freshly Made Sketch #517.
This couldn't have been an easier card to put together so I will probably make a few more with different colors. The sentiment is from an old (r) SU! set that was heat-embossed with white on black. Quick, easy, and I like how it turned out!

I'll enter my card in the following challenges:

The brand spankin' new Snippets Playground #419
(Di created a new blog for this challenge separate from her own personal blog - check it out by clicking the link above!)

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope things are well in your corner of the world. We have freezing rain and cold temperatures today so it's a good day to stay inside where it's warm and cozy!

Have a great Sunday and take good care!

December 25th

I've been working hard to use up my Christmas paper pads to make cards (so I can buy new ones for next year) and this card was made with some snippets from Photoplay Kringle & Co. I used 3 strips that I thought looked good together, and added used a SB labels 25 die to cut the word "December" from a sheet of scrapbook paper. I used a red marker around the edge of the die before removing it. The stitched circle is from MFT, and the glittered red 25 was cut with Impression Obsession dies. I fussy cut that cute little Gerda Steiner critter and placed him on the bottom, then added some black and red gemstones to finish this card.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

October Rudolph Days

It's the 25th of the month and that means it's time for the October Rudolph Days Challenge - to add more Christmas cards to our stash.
I've loved these SU! heavy-weight papers ever since they came out and still have a precious few snippets of them left. What I love most about them is the colors and simple designs. I used some kraft for the card bases, and added some gold mirror card die-cut Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes for accents, adding random glass bead accents to the centers. I added a MFT fishtail banner die-cut for the Simon Says Stamp pre-printed Christmas sentiment! It was an easy design, so I made two...

I'm entering the first card into the October Rudolph Days challenge and I hope you'll all head over there and give Maureen a big hug and lots of support as her husband faces health issues.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do.
