Spring Floral Birthday Card

I've always been fond of this Mark's Finest Papers (now closed) floral stamp so I made this simple birthday card in shades of blue and green with touches of yellow for the flower centers. I colored the image with Copics, adding a pre-printed sentiment from SSS and 3 matching gemstones. It was quick and easy but I love how it turned out.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Allsorts Week #776 - It Has to be Spring

the Triple B April 2024 Challenge - Birds, Butterflies and/or Blooms

Seize the Birthday#281 - Any Color and Green

Thanks as always for stopping by and I wish you the best possible weekend with spring finally being in the air!

A Milestone Birthday Card

I made this card for someone who recently celebrated an incredible number of birthdays. I decorated the stitched oval panel with a Tim Holtz stencil and matching ink that looks like bubble wrap, and decorated the die-cut large numbers with little black gems. The background was embossed with an older Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder and the little flower was done with SU! mini punches and a cut-off portion of a die-cut stem. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from SSS matted with black cardstock.

I will share this with

Seize the Birthday #275 - Embossing, Wet or Dry

A/G using an embossing folder with an optional twist of snow people

Craft Rocket Challenge #110 - use Embossing

Here in PA we're having another snowstorm today with very cold temperatures, so it's a good day to stay indoors and craft! Thanks for stopping by and I hope it's warm where you are! Take care everyone.

Autumn Birthday Card

Here's an autumn birthday card I made using a Gina Marie Designs die with a leaf in the center. I used 2 different colored cardstocks along with 2 different designer papers to put this card together. I added a stitched tag with a little bit of twine and added 3 small gemstones to finish this one.

I'll share this with the AAA Birthday Game #56- add a tag

Dogwood Birthday

I unearthed this stamped image that I've had for years and decided it was long overdue to make it into a card. I'd previously made the card base with some dark purple cardstock and 4 strips of colored cardstock that I cut from leftover snippets. I lined them up into an embossing folder and afterward spaced them evenly on the card base and then covered it all up with the image panel. 😄 I colored the image with Copics and glaze pens then die-cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. I added a sponged, punched butterfly with a pink gemstone, drawing in the antennae with a fine black marker. The sentiment was pre-printed from SSS.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Triple B June Challenge - Birds, Butterflies, and/or Blooms

Seize the Birthday Challenge #262 - Make it Pop or A/G Birthday

Allsorts Challenge Week #731 - Use Your Dies *Option A/G

Birthday Kitty

Today I have a card made for a special little girl who has a birthday coming up next month. I used some royal blue cardstock along with a Spellbinders scalloped square die and a Lil Inker die-cut sentiment. The Penny Black image was colored with Copics, and I added some glaze pen rainbow colors to the balloon. The little banner is brand new and from a set of Sizzix thinlet dies I recently won. I had to add a touch of pink to this card since it's for a girl. The ef is by Cuttlebug and I die-cut the sentiment 3 times, stacked it, and covered it with glossy accents.

I'm sharing with these challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure- A/G must use an EF *optional rainbows

Critter Crazy Challenge #72 - A/G but must use a critter

NBUS Challenge #48 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Turning Six

My neighbor's grandson is turning six next month so I made a colorful birthday cake card for him and made use of some leftover strips of designer paper to make the candles. I had a little piece of pastel pink cardstock and rounded the top 2 corners to make the cake. I added a border done with a Martha Stewart Goo punch, and covered it with diamond Stickles for some sparkly frosting. The candles were made with strips of leftover assorted designer papers and covered at the top with some more diamond stickles to look like melting wax. The flames were done with a SU! mini ornament punch and colored with glaze pens, then attached with snippets of black cardstock to look like wicks. I added a white doily behind the cake, then added 2 balloons done with a Martha Stewart punch - one with the little boy's first name initial, and the other with his age. The sentiment is from SNSS and was colored in with a blue glaze pen to match the cardstock.

I'm sharing this card with these two challenges:

Wishing you all a wonderful day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy Bird-Day

 Happy Thursday everyone and welcome!
While going through my overflowing box of stamped images, I found this bird image by Lindys Stamp Gang that I stamped at a friends house many years ago. I added some color with Copics and glaze pens; hand-drew the branch, and added a couple black & white snippets of dsp to a pretty blue card base. The sentiment is from the same stamp set and I added a few sparkly stickers just for fun. I added a little white cloud to the sky and covered it with Wink of Stella for more sparkle. The expression on this bird's face depicts exactly the way I feel today - probably because we're having yet another rainy, gloomy day.😑

I'll add this to the following challenges:

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a great day!

Turning 75

My husband is celebrating his 75th birthday tomorrow and I quickly put this card together for him after nearly forgetting to make his card as the month of September just flew by in a whoosh! He's always loved horses, so I  stamped a Serendipity horse image on the corner of the card base, coloring with Copics and fine line markers. I used a snippet of SU! retired striped dsp and added a MFT notched die with a snippet of kraft for the border. I used another snippet of SSS white embossed cardstock and die-cut it with a MFT stitched circle die, then added the I.O. die cut numbers cut from a snippet of gold matte cardstock. I added some tiny gold beads along with a pre-printed sentiment backed with a matching snippet of kraft.

I had another small snippet of striped dsp left so I cut it and adhered it to the envelope flap to make the card a wee bit more festive.

Whew! Just under the wire I have his card made, that was cutting it close!

I'll enter this card into the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #437 - must use snippets

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - card + matching envelope

Seize the Birthday#247 - A/G with an option of food

Allsorts Challenge week 695 - A/G w/option of  spots and/or stripes

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you all enjoy this first week of beautiful fall weather!

Birthday Time

Today's card was done with the colors of lime green and navy, and I rather like the combo now that it's finished! I used all snippets for this design, cutting 3 different border dies by Sweet 'n Sassy stamps and swapping the alternating negative stars for a fun look. The big stars were done with a very old SU! Sizzix die called stars#2 and I added a navy star brad along with a Teeny Tiny Wishes sentiment from SU! The background was done with a Cuttlebug birthday embossing folder and this card was done!

I'll share this with the following challenges:

The Color Hues Challenge #48 - use the colors of Lime Green and Navy
This challenge is also celebrating their 2nd anniversary, so they are asking for birthday cards and coordinating their challenge with the Seize the Birthday Challenge which follows below.

Seize the Birthday #246 - coordinating with the Color Hues Challenge above

Freshly Made Sketches Challenge #551

The Snippets Playground #436 - must use snippets

For my American friends, I hope you're all enjoying the Labor Day holiday weekend and doing something fun and my wish is the same for everyone else too! Thanks for stopping by, I'll see you again soon!

Birthday Hugs

While rummaging through my stash, I found several of these lovely hand-crocheted medallions sent to me by a former blogger who passed away several years ago. Her name was Jessi Fogan and her blog was One Crafty Mama. I've used several of them previously, but decided it does no good to hoard beautiful items like this, so I used another one to make this birthday card.
I die-cut a stitched circle of pink to place inside of the medallion and added some die-cut SSS Bella Bloom flowers from pink glitter paper and silver mirror card, adding a drop of black Nuvo pearls to the centers. The butterfly was a die-cut with pink Nuvo pearls added to the center and the sentiment is a pre-printed SSS sentiment backed with some black card.
As for the background - this is one of my favorite ways to use those tiny snippets of cardstock and I think it's called Mosaic. I still have my ancient Xyron machine which adds a complete layer of adhesive to a piece of card. I snipped pieces of matching cardstocks in random fashion and adhered them to the sticky side, then added some pearl embossing powder and heat set it.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Seize the Birthday #240 - favorite technique (mosaic)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!
R.I.P Jessi, you won't be forgotten💝

Time Flies

Today I have a birthday card that took a total of 6 hours to create. Oy! I carefully cut several strips of designer paper snippets to create a herringbone background, then die-cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle before embossing it with a CB Clockworks embossing folder. I also die-cut the card base with a larger Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. The Impression Obsession clock was die-cut from several colors, meticulously adding all the negatives into their corresponding slots to create the multi-colored clock. I mounted the clock onto a die-cut black circle, then attached it to the card. I added 2 die-cut mini butterflies and placed them on either side of the clock and  added a Studio Calico stamped sentiment. The only problem is, I stepped back to take a photo of it and realized I'd glued the clock image onto the card upside down! DERRR😖 My hubby looked at it and said "just send it, nobody will notice." The only problem with that is that I noticed and couldn't let it be. So I put it down for a day and gave it some thought. I decided to die-cut another clock and glue it right over top of the original one so that the time spent on this wouldn't be a total loss! That also explains why this card took so long to put together! I added some mini red gemstones to the butterflies and sentiment to give this a little sparkle. I put the birthday sentiment inside. At my age, time truly does fly - especially when you're spending so much time making ONE card! LOL

I'll share this with the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #428 - must use snippets

Let's Squash It #20 - let's squash those scraps!

Can You Handle the Pressure - Must use an embossing folder
A/G with an optional twist of using flowers

Crafty Catz Challenge #595 - A/G with an optional twist of Masculine

Allsorts Challenge Week 676 - A/G add some sparkle

Seize the Birthday #238 - Faux or Real Stitching

Dies R Us Challenge #193 - A/G using dies sold in their store (I.O)

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for laughing with me at my oops! moment too! Life's too short to cry over mistakes. Better to laugh and move on, but hopefully the next card won't take so long to put together! 😄

Have a great day!

Spring Birthday Card

I'm trying to use my older purchased items instead of buying new. Today's card makes use of older dies, snippets of cardstock and designer paper and an embossing folder.
I started with the Joanna Sheen Daffodil die I've had for quite a few years. I cut it from snippets of green, yellow and orange, fussy cutting portions and interchanging them to look like the color of daffodils. The tag was cut with a Lawn Fawn die, and I added a heat-embossed gold circle to the top, adding a little twine bow. I stenciled the tag with a Data Dots stencil and some Pumice Stone distress ink before placing the flowers on top. The green strip of designer paper is by SU! and the yellow panel is from a paper pad by Teresa Collins (very old). I embossed the card base with a Cuttlebug pinking stitch EF and added a pre-printed sentiment from SSS, backing it with a snippet of black card. I'm pleased with how this turned out and it will be going in the mail in a week or so.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Dies R Us Challenge #189 -A/G using dies sold in their store
(Lawn Fawn)

Seize the Birthday #234 - Green & White or A/G

The Little Red Wagon #636 - Emboss everything

That's going to do it for me today, but thanks so much for stopping by and I hope you're in the midst of having a great week!

Birthday Card

I had a piece of this black DCWV dsp on my desk and thought something red would look great with it, so I pulled out a piece of red cardstock and stamped an image from SU's Fifth Avenue Floral set with Versamark and then embossed it with black ep. I stamped 3 leaves from a Hero Arts set and fussy cut everything and placed it on the dsp, popping up the rose with foam dots. I added 5 little red gemstones along with a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment on the bottom and called this one done.

I'm sharing it with the following challenges:

Allsorts challenge week #662 - A/G optional red flowers

Seize the Birthday #231 - sparkle & shine (red gemstones)

The Flower Challenge #65 - occasions (birthday)

That's it for me today, but as always, I do thank you for stopping by and I wish everyone a pleasant Sunday!

Birthday Card

My brother-in-law has a birthday coming up and he has a cat that wandered onto his property several years ago and just stayed, apparently liking the accommodations. This cat has now become his pride and joy, so I thought I'd make him a card with a cat theme. He even added a little door so the cat can come and go as he pleases 😀
I started with a Penny Black image, coloring it with Copics and fussy-cutting it. The framework was done with HoneyBee square stitched frame dies (a gift I recently won in a generous blog prize) and I cut them from black and diagonal striped paper, staggering them slightly for a fun look. I made use of some shiny silver brads that have been lurking in my stash forever, and I used a silver sticker for the sentiment! The cardstock and matching envelope are Island Blue from Simon Says Stamp and I just LOVE this color!

I'll enter this into these challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - Card + Matching Envelope

Cardz 4 Guyz #280 - Add Some Metal

Seize the Birthday #223 - Faux or Real Stitching

NBUS #30 - never before used schtuff (the HoneyBee dies)

Eastern PA is due for some heavy rain, flooding, and storms throughout the day so it will be a good day to stay home and make cards.
Take care, and thanks for stopping by! Have the best possible day!

Birthday Gnome

I made this card for a young fellow celebrating his 4th birthday. A friend had given me this gnome die as a gift and I thought he'd be just as cute on a birthday card as a Christmas card, so I chose some bright primary colors. The orange background was embossed with a CB birthday ef, and the navy oval was cut with a MFT stitched die. I used a snippet of striped paper for his hat and used a Martha Stewart punch for the balloons, stenciling in the #4 with glaze pens. The sentiment was from a SSS stamp set, heat-embossed with white on navy bits.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Cardz 4 Guyz #277 - age is just a number

(bright colors theme optional)

I hope this little gnome brought you a smile today as well as the recipient of this card. Take good care and have a fantastic weekend and thanks for stopping by!
