Christmas Gnome

Christmas is now just around the corner, so it's time to get those cards made. A thoughtful friend shared this pretty designer paper with me along with the cute gnome sticker so all I did was add a die-cut stitched circle, an embossed red panel done with a SU! Tasteful Textile ef, a SSS pre-printed sentiment and 3 more tiny stickers and I called this one done.

Sharing this with the November 2023 Rudolph Days challenge - A/G Christmas

Christmas Card

A very generous and thoughtful friend recently sent me a few sheets of this great designer paper along with a gift card for my birthday, so I immediately bought this fun little Picket Fence Santa image stamp set and paired them together to make this card. The designer paper reminded me of a night sky in snow and the sentiment in the stamp set was perfect, so that's how this card came to be. I colored the image with Copics and glaze pens; then added some liquid applique to the fur for a little texture. I fussy cut and placed him over the sentiment panel. That panel was die-cut with a Kat Scrappiness stitched die and the snowflakes were done with 2 punches and a die and dotted with diamond stickles for a little sparkle. (Thank you again for the wonderful birthday gifts my friend, you know who you are)

I will enter this into the following challenges:

Thanks as always for stopping by and I wish you a peaceful stress-free day.
(I'd like to have one of those myself actually LOL)

Switching to Christmas

I'm still working with snippets and trying to use them up on some cards. I started with a scrap of white and glued on squares of Christmas-themed papers and then die cut the panel with a GMD scalloped rectangle die. I also die-cut a Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake die from mirror red and gold cardstock and placed that over the top and added a pre-printed SSS sentiment.

After die-cutting the snippet panel, I decided to use the frame to make another card. This one has 3 smaller Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes and a KaiserCraft die-cut Christmas sentiment. I also stenciled some white snowflakes with a Heidi Swapp stencil.

I'll enter these cards into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a wonderful weekend ahead.

Christmas Poinsettia

Here's one more Christmas card for July I have to share. I've had this embossed panel that I made at a friend's house perhaps 7-8 years ago and it's high time to use it after keeping it that long! I wrote on the back that it's a Sissix Brushed Poinsettia embossing folder. In keeping with the poinsettia theme, I dug out my trusty (and very old) Spellbinders Shapeability Poinsettia layered dies and cut the flower and leaves, layering it with glue dots after curling the leaves around a pencil. While the pieces were in the die, I used a gold paint pen to add highlights, adding a gemstone to the center and a pre-printed SSS sentiment panel. For the finishing touch, I added 3 random pale yellow sparkly gemstones.

Sharing this card with....

optional *Twinkle

Thanks for spending a few moments here with me and I hope you all have a wonderful day! Keep smiling 😊

Peace on Earth

I found this pre-cut Lawn Fawn snowflake in my box of snippets and decided it was time to make a card with it. I'd used some SU! glittered red cardstock to cut it, along with a little bit of silver mirror card. I also had the pre-cut white panel in my snippet box and it seemed to work perfectly for what I had in mind. I pulled out my remaining sheet of glittered cardstock and die-cut the Die-Versions sentiment and decided that's all this card needed.

Since I had the red glitter paper out, I cut another Lawn Fawn snowflake and decided to make 2 cards. I also cut another Gina Marie Designs white panel. For this version, I used a few tiny dots of Smooch around the snowflake just to make it a little bit different. These aren't traditional Christmas colors but black seemed to be the only card base I liked with the red and white. I'm leaning toward peace on earth sentiments this year because with so much unrest in the world, we can all use peace in our lives more than ever.

I'm sharing the first card with these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful week ahead. Winter reappeared here yesterday and it's still hanging around today with winds, colder temperatures and rain mixed with sunshine. We had a hint of spring recently but hopefully it will return soon and stay here for a while before the hot summer temperatures slide right on in! I washed the extra bed blankets and stored them for summer over the weekend and last night I could have used them again! Bad timing on my part 😉

Joy To You

I have another Christmas card to share today made with more snippets from the Kringle paper pad by Photoplay. I added a little bit of holly in the corner made with a Poppystamps stitched holly and berries die, then placed a Copic-colored, fussy cut Gerda Steiner image from the Fall Mice set into a MFT stitched circle die, adding glossy accents to his little heart. The sentiment is pre-printed from SSS.

I'm sharing this card with the following challenges:

(sliding in just before closing)
the Double D Christmas Joy Challenge - must use the word "Joy"

Share Your Designs Challenge December 2021 - use a Gerda Steiner stamp

The Critter Crazy Challenge #57 - A/G with a featured critter

must use a Poppystamps product

That's going to do it for me on this Sunday.
My prayers go out to those impacted by those deadly twisters that tore through 5 states in the US recently. I hope the help needed will quickly be there and that there will be plenty of volunteers on the way to help lives get back on track as soon as possible. This is the time for Americans to put our differences to rest and come together again to help those in need.
Count your blessings.
Thanks for stopping by and have a good day whatever you do.

Peaceful Winter Scene

Excuse the poor quality of my photo here, I just couldn't seem to get this one right. With all the chaos going on in our world today, I tried to create a peaceful scene as a distraction. I used a SSS wishing trees die, and some Lawn Fawn stitched hillside dies, along with some I.O deer dies and a MB sentiment die. The tiny stars on the treetops were done with a SSS star border and some red glitter paper. I used some narrow strips of gold glitter paper to decorate the largest tree, then covered it all with glossy accents and glitter. I added some sparkle with diamond stickles to the hillsides and on the ground where the deer are standing. I used a Copic marker to darken the antlers on the deer.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

optional - make a scene

(anything you might see walking in the woods - deer, trees)

Thanks so much for stopping by and do have yourself a fine Friday and a great weekend ahead too!

October Rudolph Days

It's the 25th of the month and that means it's time for the October Rudolph Days Challenge - to add more Christmas cards to our stash.
I've loved these SU! heavy-weight papers ever since they came out and still have a precious few snippets of them left. What I love most about them is the colors and simple designs. I used some kraft for the card bases, and added some gold mirror card die-cut Lawn Fawn stitched snowflakes for accents, adding random glass bead accents to the centers. I added a MFT fishtail banner die-cut for the Simon Says Stamp pre-printed Christmas sentiment! It was an easy design, so I made two...

I'm entering the first card into the October Rudolph Days challenge and I hope you'll all head over there and give Maureen a big hug and lots of support as her husband faces health issues.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do.

Christmas Snippets Card

I had so many Christmas snippets from paper pads that were falling all over the place, so I decided to use them to make a few Christmas cards with panels like this one. I just glued them together on a scrap piece and then trimmed it to fit the dark green panel, which was punched with a SU! scalloped punch. The little gnome is a first outing and he's from a Stampendous stamp set given to me by a very generous friend. The sentiment panel is a pre-printed one from SSS. I added some liquid applique to the gnome for a little fun.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Merry Little Christmas Challenge #38 - Sept. A/G Christmas challenge

*optional non-traditional colors

NBUS #30 - never before used schtuff (gnome stamp)

This is the first time in a long time I posted 2 cards back-to-back, so it must be this beautiful weather we're having that inspired me! LOL
Thanks for stopping by and  I'm also wishing a very happy Labor Day holiday to my American friends today! Enjoy!

Christmas Ornament

Today I have  quick & easy Christmas card to share. The background was done with a Sizzix snowglobe/holly leaves embossing folder on some shimmer white cardstock. I added a punched SU! (r) ornament done with a snippet of red & white dsp. I added a pre-printed SSS sentiment to the center; then added some gold cording to make a bow and hang it from the die-cut Poppystamps Shasta twigs. The final touch was to add some snow to the branches.
 with some liquid applique.

Christmas Horses

I pulled out a long-neglected but favorite stamp from I.O. to make this Christmas card. My husband and I owned horses many years ago and I've always been fond of them which is why I like this stamp so much. I colored the horses with Tombow markers and colored pencils, adding some red Copic colors to those Santa hats and liquid applique for the fur. The sentiment is by Tim Holtz. A friend of ours recently bought his first home and his neighbor has 2 horses that come to the fence to welcome him home from work every day. He always has a carrot for each of them which may be why they greet him at the fence, but I thought this would be a perfect Christmas card for him!

Christmas and Birthday

Here are my cards for the Twofer Card Challenge #36. I used a Spellbinder Oval die for both cards. For this challenge, the choice is yours!

I found this stag die-cut in my snippet box and placed it on a red die-cut oval, then matted with a black scalloped oval die-cut from SB. The 2 different papers are from a DCWB black & white pad which I separated with a MFT diagonal stitched die-cut in white. I added a SSS heat-embossed sentiment on a black strip and added alternating enamel dots to finish.

I'm also sharing this card with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is to use 2 or more patterned papers

The second card for my twofer was created with a Crafter's Companion 3D embossing folder in kraft, then swiped with a white craft ink pad. I decided it needed some sparkle, so I added clear Wink of Stella to the trees. I die-cut the oval from red (which I used on the first card) and then used two larger SB oval/scalloped dies to make the frame from white card stock. I heat-embossed the SU! (retired) greeting with white ep and called this one done.

I'm also sharing this card with these challenges:

the CAS Christmas card challenge to use kraft, red, and white
(they are also celebrating their third birthday)

{This is the first time I played along with this challenge as I'm not very good with making CAS cards, but I love the color combination so I gave it a try}

That's it for me, so thanks much for stopping by. I always appreciate your visits and time spent to leave comments.
Have yourself a fabulous Friday!

February Rudolph Days Challenge

I've been dragging my feet getting Christmas cards done early this year, but I did manage to make this one recently. I used a retired mini tree punch from SU! to cut trees left over from assorted green cardstock bits and shaped them all into a tree. I stenciled the tag first with a GMD weave pattern stencil and some light green ink. The tree pot was cut with a retired SU! set of Perfect Pines, and the white heat-embossed sentiment is from SU! retired Teeny Tiny Wishes. The background was embossed with a CB Snow Globe ef and I tied a piece of candy cane red twine into a bow for the top of the tag. I added a red itty bitty star negative from a SSS star border die for the tree top.

I will enter this into the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #397 - must use snippets
