Christmas in June

Today I have a Christmas card that I made with traditional colors. I used a Sizzix Snow Globe embossing folder to emboss a piece of white cardstock, and I colored the raised portions with Copic markers. The Kaiser Craft sentiment was die cut with mirror gold and placed on red and green panels cut with Gina Marie Designs Venetian Label dies, and placed on a matching green card base.

Season's Greetings

I found this charming stamp I've had for eons and decided to make a card with it for Christmas. I colored the hedgies with Copics and added a snippet of designer paper that reminded me of cracks in the ice, and then die-cut the loops with a MB die, placing them over top. The sentiment was one of those old $1 stamps which is why it curves upward a little, but at least I got some use out of it. For the finishing touch I added some sparkly blue stickers to their ice skates and randomly on the rest of the card.

I'll share this with the Rudolph Day April Challenge - make a Christmas card

Thanks as always for stopping by and make it a great Saturday!

Christmas Gnome

Christmas is now just around the corner, so it's time to get those cards made. A thoughtful friend shared this pretty designer paper with me along with the cute gnome sticker so all I did was add a die-cut stitched circle, an embossed red panel done with a SU! Tasteful Textile ef, a SSS pre-printed sentiment and 3 more tiny stickers and I called this one done.

Christmas Cards

I recently treated myself to this new Creative Expressions Christmas sentiment die and paired it with some I.O. die-cut angels on a piece of green mirror card. I die-cut the mirror card with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die and placed it on a white card base. I don't think this card needs anything else.

I made a second one and used different angels or repositioned the ones I used in the first card, just to make them a little different. Sorry that mirror card picks up the camera reflection but I can't seem to find a way to eliminate that.

I'm entering the October Rudolph Days challenge  - A/G Christmas

as well as the Peace on Earth Challenge #50 - A/G Christmas

since the sentiment die is brand new, I'm also entering into

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is a good one.

Easy Christmas Card

I won a Christmas card kit from Bella Boulevard quite a few years ago and I've used just about all of it now. This card was put together with a sticker and a die-cut scalloped square along with papers from the kit. The sentiment was a print included in the kit that I just backed with another piece of paper.
This may be the quickest card I've ever made!

I'll share this with these challenges:

That's it for me today, but thanks for dropping by to visit!

Christmas Poinsettia

Here's one more Christmas card for July I have to share. I've had this embossed panel that I made at a friend's house perhaps 7-8 years ago and it's high time to use it after keeping it that long! I wrote on the back that it's a Sissix Brushed Poinsettia embossing folder. In keeping with the poinsettia theme, I dug out my trusty (and very old) Spellbinders Shapeability Poinsettia layered dies and cut the flower and leaves, layering it with glue dots after curling the leaves around a pencil. While the pieces were in the die, I used a gold paint pen to add highlights, adding a gemstone to the center and a pre-printed SSS sentiment panel. For the finishing touch, I added 3 random pale yellow sparkly gemstones.

Thanks for spending a few moments here with me and I hope you all have a wonderful day! Keep smiling 😊

Christmas Star

I recently won a gift certificate by playing along with a challenge at Simon Says Stamp and I treated myself to this pretty star die as part of my prize. I die-cut it with some vanilla and mirror gold cardstock and added a golden pearl to the center. All the tiny "stars" were from assorted stamp sets and heat-embossed with gold on the navy card base which was die-cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. The Noel sentiment from PTI was also heat-embossed in gold.
That's one more Christmas card added to the stash for this year and I'll enter it into the following challenges:

A Happy Little Christmas

I recently found this cute little stamped image and colored it with Copics to make a Christmas card. I used 2 strips of red & green cardstock along with 2 strips of red & green designer paper for the background, along with a white background made with a Sizzix plaid embossing folder. I added a little stamped sentiment image by SU! that I found in my snippets box, and matted it with gold mirror card, then added a tiny red pearl to the center. That's one more Christmas card for the stash.

I will share this card with the following challenges:

Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #38- A/G with inspirational mood board

Can You Handle the Pressure Challenge - A/G embossing *optional twist "baby"

That's it for me today and I'm going to scoot to the store before it starts raining. Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas Split Circle

I made this card some time ago and decided it's time to share it. I cut 3 different sized circles with dies using Christmas designer paper, and split them and formed them into a circle. I used a pre-printed SSS sentiment, and added one large clear gemstone before placing it on a panel that was embossed with a SU! Snowburst EF (retired).

Christmas Bluebird

I used a MFT stamp set to make this card. Some parts of the country and world don't have snow and cold weather for Christmas, so I made this one keeping that idea in mind. I made the soft clouds with T.E. stencils and some Tumbled Glass Ink, then colored the bird and holly branches with Copics, adding some glaze marker red accents to the little Santa hat and the red berries. I'm longing for warmer weather and I guess it shows in this Christmas card. My husband's niece recently moved to Florida so this will probably be heading her way later this year.

That's it for me for now, but thanks for stopping by and have yourself a wonderful day!

PS: I saw this sign on a local business recently:
"My wife and I agreed today we'd both be cremated, so she made me an appointment for next year." 😄
This business changes their sign every few weeks and sometimes they're pretty funny. I'm glad people still have a sense of humor to bring smiles to others.

Happy Christmas

My long-time friend Heidi who started this blog with me more than a decade ago surprised me with this beautiful Sizzix die set this past Christmas. It's got so many dies included that it took me a while to figure out how to use them all together. I pulled out snippets of dark brown, light brown, blue, green and kraft and put this card together with a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment. I added liquid applique for the snow, along with some red Stickles for ornaments on the tree. The little sparkly red star atop the tree was a die-cut negative from a border die done in red glitter paper. I'm not sure I did this die set much justice, but I tried. That's one Christmas card for this year done with many many more to go!

I'm sharing with these challenges:

The January Rudolph Days Challenge - A/G Christmas - must be posted by the end of January

Ha Ha - don't you just love how that snow covered car was cleaned off? LOL That's creative!

Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a great rest of the week!

Switching to Christmas

I'm finding joy in digging through my stash and using older stamp sets that have been neglected for so long! This is a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set I've had for eons and just felt it was time to use it again. I had a couple strips of water colored paper I'd made a while ago with my H2O's so I cut them into fishtail banners and embossed them with a CB swiss dots ef. I found the narrow strip of an embossed panel in my snippets box and decided to use that too. I colored the snowman's scarf with a Copic marker that was a close match to the color on the strips, then heat-embossed a silver star in the sky. I stamped the sentiment from the set and die-cut it with a stitched square and called this one done.

I'll enter this into these challenges:

use any embossing folder with an option of "Leaves"

Thanks for all the birthday cards and wishes for my husband and myself yesterday. It's quite a day with not only my husband and me sharing the same birthday, but my 1st cousin and my husband's 1st cousin also share the same birthday! If only we were all younger, that would be an excuse to have one heck of a party, eh? The best part is that neither of us can ever have an excuse to forget each other's birthday! 😉

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a grand day today!

Holiday Hedgehogs

My card today makes use of a very old SU! stamp set called Holiday Hedgehogs (2001). My friend Wendy made this card recently and I was inspired to dust the cobwebs off this set and use it again. I colored the image with Copics and added some glaze pen accents. The greenery panel was matted with red cardstock and the 2 panels on the right are leftover snippets of red cardstock. I used an old wooden sentiment stamp and called this one done. Quick and easy!

I'm sharing this with the August Rudolph Days Challenge which is always a Christmas theme and runs until the end of the month.

Thanks for stopping by as always, and I wish you a fabulous Friday!

More Christmas in July

Here are the snippets and Poppystamps dies I used to make another Christmas card. I cut quite a few holly leaves to create a wreath to hang on the front door!

I used 2 Spellbinder circle dies, putting one smaller one inside the larger one to create a thin circle to place the holly leaves on. They were randomly placed and dotted with red Stickles glitter glue with a small twine bow added at the top. I created the door panels from some textured kraft cardstock, then sponged all the edges with white ink before placing them on another piece of kraft. I added some very old SU! Hodgepodge Hardware to make the door handle, and added a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment that works perfectly with the front door image.

I stamped a Just For Fun sentiment inside and added a couple more holly leaves and Stickles to finish this card.

which is Christmas in July (using snippets of course)

Also entering this into the July Rudolph Days Challenge which is always a Christmas theme that ends on the last day of the month.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you a great week ahead with many blessings.

Quick Christmas Card

Today I have a quick and very easy Christmas card to share. The image is a sticker a thoughtful blogging friend sent me many moons ago (thank you!) and I added a strip of (r) SU! designer paper and a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment. I added a few dabs of gold stickles for an accent and placed it all on some SU! Wild Wasabi cardstock. This might be the quickest and easiest card I've ever made!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and thanks too for all your good wishes. I'm still hacking away with an annoying cough and sinus issues with no let-up yet.  Hopefully tomorrow will be better! My hubby was doing fine all week, and now it doubled back on him again too.

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a nice weekend!

Christmas Gnome

I have a Christmas card to share today made with some Kringle & Co designer paper, a lawn fawn die-cut tag, and a SSS Gnome die. The embossed strip was made with a SU! (R) snowflake ef, then sanded for a bit of white to show through. The sentiment was done with a (R) SU! set called Endless Wishes (2003)

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Christmas Snowflake

With a MB snowflake die, a piece of red glitter paper and a piece of gold mirror card, this Christmas card went together quickly! Instead of trying to put all the fiddly pieces back into the die-cut holes, I just backed it with red  and then punched a fancy little circle (SU! retired mini punch) for the center of the snowflake. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from SSS, backed with a narrow strip of the matching red glitter paper.

I'm sharing this with the April Rudolph Days challenge which is always A/G Christmas and the entry must be made by the end of April.

Wishing you a happy Monday and a great week ahead too! Thanks for stopping by, it's always good to see you :)

Christmas Gnome

So once again I whoosh from spring right into making a Christmas card!
I love the gnomes, so I used this SSS gnome die along with a paper pad from Kringle to make this card. I used a MFT notched border die along with some Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake dies, and added a SSS pre-printed sentiment. I also used a couple bits of red polka dot designer paper for the gnome's hat and the vertical panel on the left. The plaid and snowflake papers are from the Kringle paper pad. I added a few dots of liquid pearls to the centers of the snowflakes.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Christmas Card

As these months are flying by in the new year, I'm always grateful for the challenges to make Christmas cards so I'm not scrambling at the last minute to get them made at the end of the year.
I received this MFT stamp set as a Christmas gift and this is the first outing. I stenciled some clouds with TE stencils and Tumbled Glass ink. The trees and branches were stamped and colored with Copics, and I added some die-cut I.O. red birds along with a sentiment and called this one done.

I'm adding my card to these challenges:

NBUS #35 - NBUS is the MFT stamp set

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope everyone is well and ready to enjoy a relaxing weekend. 2 days ago the temps were in the high 60s and today we have a coating of ice on the ground. It's a good day to stay indoors and stay warm!

November Rudolph Days

I paper-pieced the numbers in this Woodware stamped image to create one more Christmas card. The leaves were done with colored pencils and I added red stickles to the berries and outlined the frame with a gold marker pen. I won this stamp in the playground some years ago and I still love it after using it every year to make some cards.

I'm sharing this over at the November Rudolph Days challenge to make a Christmas card.

The pace is picking up as Christmas grows closer and I have so much to do with such little time to spare! Hopefully I can get it all finished in time!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!
