Thanksgiving Wreath

 Today I have a Thanksgiving card to share. The wreath is a stamp from Brutus Monroe, generously gifted to me by a thoughtful blogger, and I had fun coloring it with Copics and adding some gold stickles here and there for some sparkle. All it needed was a sentiment in the center and another generous blogger stamped and punched these sentiments for me with a SU! Tags for You (r) stamp set last year. I thought this turned out quite pretty with the orange card base so I'll make a few more of this design.

Halloween Card

I received this background die cut from a prize package a year or two ago, but I've just now gotten around to using it. Sorry, I don't know who makes it, but I put it on a black card base to let the black sentiments visible. I die cut a MFT stitched circle die and sponged it with distress inks, then added an assortment of various Halloween stamped images including the witch and I think that's all this card needs.

Here's the inside - a big BOO! die cut done with a borrowed Darice die, and the sentiment is from Tim Holtz.

Hello Autumn

I made this card to send to someone who's fighting a serious battle, and decided to go with an Autumn "Hello" theme instead of a get well sentiment. It began with the unbranded die cut in the center that I sponged with a combination of earthy colored inks. I placed it on a piece of vanilla that was done with a Tim Holtz burlap stencil and some Antique Linen ink and then cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, placing it on some gold card stock. The Taylored Expressions "Hello" sentiment was die cut twice with Daffodil card and layered for dimension. The leaves were done with Lawn Fawn stitched leaf dies; inked and clear embossed and placed randomly. The larger leaf was a leftover snippet from an alcohol ink/Yupo project so it's a bit brighter in color than the 2 smaller ones.

Sorry the photograph doesn't capture these colors as they appear IRL. The gold tends to diminish all the other brighter colors regardless of how many ways I tried to alter or adjust them.

Whimsical Wedding Card

A friend asked me to make some cards for her, including a wedding card, so this is what I came up with. I used a SU! owl punch to create the bride and groom, adding a "tux" and "wedding gown" LOL I fussy cut the top hat and added a narrow strip of mirror gold card for the band, then added some tiny gold beads on the front of his "tux." For her gown, I used a retired SU! square lattice embossing folder on the snippets of white, adding pearls on the front of her gown. I fussy cut the headpiece and added a piece of tulle for the veil, along with some pearls and rhinestones. The red "Mr & Mrs" tag was done with a SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and matching Bouquet Bunch framelit set and heat-embossed with silver ep. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set, also heat-embossed with silver ep. The owls wings were done with a SU! bird punch and I added snippets of green to the leaves on the branches. I placed it all on a Spellbinders Labels 25 die cut, and placed that on a panel that was embossed with a SU! Falling Petals embossing folder.

I added a snippet of SU! sparkling silver & white twine tied into a little bow on the tag for the finishing touch and added some glossy accents onto the punched eyes.

Twofer #19 - Nautical

It's time for the Twofer challenge #19 and this month the theme is "Nautical."

Here are my cards. One is "thinking of you" and the other is a belated birthday card.

I used the SU! retired "Open Sea" Stamp set for this card, along with some Bermuda Bay card stock and matching designer paper. I used a piece of PTI soft stone card for the stamped background rectangle, along with some Distress Pumice Stone ink. The ship was colored with Copics and I used 3 different bottles of stickles to create the water sparkle. The anchor was done with a Marianne Die, cut from gray and covered with glossy accents before adding some twisted black and white twine. The sentiment is from the now-closed MFP store.

I had to sit and think for quite some time what other type of card I could make with this ship image,  but I came up with the snarky idea to make this belated birthday card! LOL I started with some kraft card stock and embossed it with a Darice nautical ef, then die-cut a piece of Pacific Point blue with a MFT fishtail banner die. I turned it sideways because it looked like it was flying in the direction of the tiny flag flying on top of the ship. The ship was stamped with Versamark ink, then heat-embossed with gold, sponged with antique linen and vintage photo inks, then cut with a MFT stitched circle die. The lettering on the image was done with $1 stick stamps and the other letters and circles were done with my Quickutz.

12th Birthday Card

I made this card for a girl who loves purple, so I began with some Gina K Wild Lilac card stock, adding a circle of plaid dsp and some Gina K blue raspberry card stock. I used the following die cuts on this no-stamp card:

the numbers were done with SU! large number dies

The circle was done with a MFT stitched circle die

The sentiment was done with GMD birthday dies

The small and large scalloped borders were done with SNSS dies

Just for fun, I added 12 lavender gemstones to the numbers, and added a couple more to dot the "i's" in the sentiment.

Polka Dot Stenciled Birthday Card

Today I have a card with a background that was made with a Mini Tiny Circles stencil by The Crafters Workshop and sponged with light brown ink on a kraft card base. The polka dot panel was a snippet that I cut with a Lil Inker Stitched rectangle die. The owl is a stamped image by the now closed Marks Finest Papers and I colored it with Copics and cut it with a Gina Marie Designs stitched oval die. I added some flag banners with a white heat-embossed birthday sentiment by Sweet'n Sassy stamps; then for the final touch I added a bit of glossy accents to the eyes of the owl.

Happy Father's Day

For all the dads out there, Happy Father's Day!

I made this card some time ago but never posted it, so I thought it was perfect for this day set aside to honor all the great fathers in the world. My friend brought this die to my house a while ago and I die-cut it with Bermuda Bay, white and navy card stock, adding a tiny sliver or 2 of daffodil delight for the space between the sails. The background was done with a SU! Seaside ef, which I dotted with aqua stickles and a toothpick on the raised portions.

I'm pretty sure this is a Unity sentiment, but not 100% certain, but it just fits the image and it's what's inside of the card.

Happy Father's Day

With Father's Day being less than a week away, I knew it was time to get busy and make my husband his father's day card. Every year I've used a horse image because horses were a big part of his life since he was a child, but this year I wanted to do something different, so I went with a rustic wood look instead. I pulled out some leftover strips of wooden dsp by SU! and adhered them randomly to a piece of card stock, then embossed it all with a TH wooden ef. I die cut both the wooden panel along with the GinaK blue raspberry card base with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. The "happy" from SSS "oh happy day" dies was cut twice and stacked for dimension, while the father's day was stamped with Versamark, and heat embossed with white ep. The finishing touches were 3 brads and I think he'll like this one.

Happy Mother's Day

Happy Mother's Day to all the moms out there - I hope your day is special and filled with fun things to do and loving family.

I have a card today that was made with snippets of cardstock and designer paper. The banners were done with the PTI Notched Hearts Banner Die collection, using a piece of old "two scoops Basic Grey dsp"  for the scalloped piece, and a panel of pastel pink cardstock on the front. I also cut the top panel in white, adding all the white hearts into the pink panel. The circles were done with MFT stitched circles and the flower is by Hero arts, stamped with versamark and heat-embossed with white ep, then fussy cut before popping up on a foam dot. The center was done with matching dsp and a mini punch, shaped and then added to the flower center. The leaves were fussy cut after going through the paper crimper and the sentiment is by SU!'s teeny tiny wishes (retired); also heat-embossed with white ep on a word window punched element.

Easter Bunnies

 I've made a card with this fun digital image by ScrapHappyPaperCrafter and colored it with Copics, sponging in some clouds with Tumbled Glass distress ink and adding a double grassy border done with a SNSS die (retired) and some Grass Green card stock.  I used some fluorescent Copics for the bunny collars and Easter eggs, and colored the little droppings with a black marker. I'm not sure if they're black jelly beans or bunny droppings, but you can decide. Either way, I don't think I'd be eating them! LOL The bunny tail has a bit of liquid applique that was puffed up with my heat gun.

Balloon Birthday Girl

I found this pre-colored digi image by Crafty Moments called "Balloon Girl" in my folder and decided to print it and make a card with it. It reminds me of spring with the pastel colors, but I added a little more blue with a Copic marker since my printer didn't do such a good job (it's old). I die-cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die and added a few clouds done with snippets of cardstock and Lawn Fawn stitched cloud dies. I added some more Copic color to ground her, covered her clothes, skates and balloons with clear Wink of Stella for some added sparkle, added a SNSS sentiment, and placed it on a Lawn Fawn purple card base. Quick and easy and one for my stash.

St Patrick's Day Card

Each year I make a couple St. Patrick's Day cards to send out, and here's one from this year. I used a pre-colored digital image and enhanced the colors with Copics, adding some Glossy Accents to the shamrock and some Dazzling Diamond Stickles to the beer suds. I added a die-cut Taylored Expressions shamrock to the bottom left corner for a little bit of extra luck. The papers are both digital prints that I thought looked good together and it's all on a Wild Wasabi card stock base with black mats on the designer papers.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have 2 more Valentine's to share, and both were done with an unbranded heart die, where I cut with alternating colors, and inlaid the negative bits for some contrast. On this one, I stamped the sentiment into the solid heart, adding 3 tiny pink gemstones. It looks CAS but it took a while to place those bits into the proper places :)

Autumn Birthday

My brother-in-law has a birthday coming up soon, so I made him an autumn-themed card in colors of espresso and pumpkin. The leaf is a die-cut from SB which I sponged with an assortment of distress inks and then let it dry. I smeared it with Versamark ink and heat-set it with clear embossing powder to give it some shine and then curled the leaves around a pencil and popped it up on foam dots. I tied a piece of brown twine around the stem in a knot, rather than a bow (which I thought would have looked a bit feminine) but now that I see the picture, it looks like a horseshoe slung around the stem LOL I may add another piece of twine before I mail this one. The embossed panel was done with a Darice ef, and the birthday sentiment was die-cut with a Lil Inker stitched banner. The dsp is from SU! and I added a few orange gemstones to finish this one.

Wheeee!

My card today was made with a Whimsy Stamps digital image called "skiing penguin" that I recently won. Isn't he the cutest? I colored him with many different markers, glaze pens, and paint pens, and added glossy accents to his goggles along with some liquid applique to the fur on his cap. I die-cut a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside panel and covered it with frosted stickles to create the snowy hill he's skiing down, and added some sparkly snow behind his skis with 3 different colors of stickles. The sentiment was done with an old G Studio $1 stamp I got from Michaels many years ago, and I used circle punches to cut it along with the turquoise mat. I added a big piece of turquoise bling in the center just for fun. The cardbase and mats are turquoise, and the 2 different designer papers are old ones from Memory Box.

Playtime!

Today I have a card using another image from Deedee's Digis "Go Wild" set. I used a pre-colored giraffe image, and added some sponged clouds and grass with Copics. I embossed the background with an older Cuttlebug ef (I forget the name) on some rust-colored cardstock, and then smeared the whole panel with Versamark ink and clear embossed it afterward for a leathery look to match the giraffe. I tied a piece of rust-colored ribbon to the corner as well as the sentiment panel. As long as it's playtime, why not add a fun frog brad to finish this off?

Geezer Birthday

I stamped this hilarious Art Impressions image over at my friend Mary Anne's house quite a while ago, along with one of her unknown hysterically funny sentiments that just "belongs" with this image! I watercolored the background with pastel reinkers and water, then embossed it with a SU! ef. The diagonal strips are washi tape, and the tiny flowers were done with a SU! mini punch, adding gemstones to the centers. The combination of those bunny slippers and the smiley face coffee cup just cracked me up!

I'm entering this card into the Crafty Gals Corner challenge #13 which is "humor, comedy, funny."
