Whimsical Wedding Card

A friend asked me to make some cards for her, including a wedding card, so this is what I came up with. I used a SU! owl punch to create the bride and groom, adding a "tux" and "wedding gown" LOL I fussy cut the top hat and added a narrow strip of mirror gold card for the band, then added some tiny gold beads on the front of his "tux." For her gown, I used a retired SU! square lattice embossing folder on the snippets of white, adding pearls on the front of her gown. I fussy cut the headpiece and added a piece of tulle for the veil, along with some pearls and rhinestones. The red "Mr & Mrs" tag was done with a SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set and matching Bouquet Bunch framelit set and heat-embossed with silver ep. The sentiment is also from the same stamp set, also heat-embossed with silver ep. The owls wings were done with a SU! bird punch and I added snippets of green to the leaves on the branches. I placed it all on a Spellbinders Labels 25 die cut, and placed that on a panel that was embossed with a SU! Falling Petals embossing folder.
I added a snippet of SU! sparkling silver & white twine tied into a little bow on the tag for the finishing touch and added some glossy accents onto the punched eyes.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges :

Wedding Card

I found a half-used paper pad of DCWV Formal Stack designer paper and decided to make a couple wedding cards. The entire card was made with these papers, including the card base, and sentiment cut with a Lil Inker "celebrate" die. I die cut that 3 times with a neutral color and stacked all 3 for some dimension. I cut the piece behind it with a SB Shapeabilities Fancy Tag die, anchoring it down with some narrow white/silver ribbon that picks up the silver stripes in the card base. I put 2 hearts and a wedding sentiment inside and left the front plain for easy mailing.

I'd like to enter this into the following challenges:

Wedding Card

I made this wedding card some time ago and forgot to post it. LOL The background was done with a sheet of pre-embossed paper I bought from Tuesday Morning. I bought a small pack of it knowing it would make great wedding cards. I die-cut a tag from white using a SU! scalloped top punch and entwined a pink die-cut Cheery Lynn flourish through the top and added a black sentiment panel, heat-embossed with white ep. The sentiment is from SU!'s Beautiful Bouquet stamp set, and the black panel was cut with a piece from SU!'s Chalk Talk die set. I punched some white and grey flowers using SU! mini punches and added some Nuvo Crystal drops to the floral centers. I added a snippet of satin-edged sheer ribbon to the top and tied it with some SU! silver/white twisted twine for the finishing touch.

Thanks for the visit and I hope you have a day filled with sunshine and all things good!

Wedding Card

Here's a wedding card I made recently using a rose-pink color with white. I used a SU! Fifth Avenue Floral flower to stamp on the main panel with versamark ink and embossed it with white ep. I used Copics to add some color to the flowers and then used a piece of embossed vellum for the horizontal border which was done with a MS doily border punch. The sentiment panel was done with a SU! Beautiful Bouquet sentiment and a SB grommet tag die which was attached with some sheer white ribbon. I added a bow and some pink pearls to finish this card. Inside I made a little pocket from matching vellum in which I tucked some wedding money.

I was inspired to make this card after seeing this beautiful wedding card by Vicki over on Stamped Smiles. (hope you feel better soon Vicki)

Colorful Wedding Card

I normally make white or vanilla wedding cards, but I decided to make a colorful one just to mix things up for a change. I used a Melon Mambo cardbase along with a piece of water colored cardstock. I spread 3 different colors of distress ink (raspberry, spun sugar, worn lipstick) on a silicone craft mat, then spritzed it with water, dipping the cardstock into it here and there until I got the result I was looking for. After it dried completely, I inked up a Repeat Impressions Palm Frond stamp with white craft ink, stamping it all over the pink colors. It turned out so pretty, it was a shame to cover so much of it up. I die-cut the oval with a Gina Marie Designs die, added a small Cheery Lynn Flourish and some tiny inked flowers done with a retired SU! mini punch. The final touch was to add a ribbon and bow and some pearls to the inside of the flowers.

I used the Repeat Impressions J1318 tic-tac-toe challenge to make my card, basing it along the bottom horizontal row.

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your weekend is off to a fantastic start! Stay cool if you can!

Wedding Card

Today I have a wedding card that was made with white cardstock and some pre-embossed silvery-grey cardstock I've had for a while. I first cut the Bloomin' Heart with a die from SU! from the white cardstock panel, then matted it with the embossed dsp, leaving a little bit showing around the outside edges for contrast, and then placed the die-cut heart back into the opening. I die-cut several of the flowers from the embossed dsp, adding them to the front along with some liquid pearls. The sentiment was heat-embossed with silver ep and I found a snippet of narrow silver-edged satin ribbon I used to create a border and a tiny bow.

I'm sharing this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is to make an Anniversary or Wedding card.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your Friday is a great one!

Two Owls Wedding Card

I was asked to make a few wedding cards and this is one from that request. I pulled out my old SU! owl punch and made a bride and groom all dressed up for a wedding. They were both made from snippets of cardstock and dsp, and I embossed the bride's "gown" with a Sizzix damask ef and added white pearls all down the front. I fussy cut a veil for her, adding a tiny snippet of white tulle and some more pearls. His tux came from a DCWV paper stack and I hand-made his hat, adding diamonds along the brim. I glittered the branches they're perched on with Frosted Lace stickles, and also added the stickles to the Martha Stewart punched ferns between them. I die-cut a Gina Marie stitched oval and matted it with a SB petite oval scalloped die, and placed it all on a white card base, adding clear heart gems and a big red one to the groom's chest. I added glossy accents to the eyes and the silver-embossed SU! sentiment was placed on a glittered silver snippet of cardstock. I can't help smiling when I look at this card - I'm pleased with the way it turned out :)

I'm sharing it with the Snippets Playground #327 because it's made entirely of snippets that were lying on my craft table :)

Wedding Card

I was recently asked to create some wedding cards, and this is one design of 3 that I made. I started with a piece of white cardstock that was embossed with a SU! Falling Petals embossing folder, and die-cut a circle in the center. I used a SB scalloped circle and regular circle die to cut the frame and inserted a panel of vellum dsp into the center. The lovebirds were made with a SU! bird punch, and the wings were embossed with a SU! square lattice ef, and I added tiny black gemstones for eyes. I die-cut 2 stems with an older Sizzlits Little Leaves die, and covered them with frosted lace stickles for a little sparkle. The sentiment is from the SU! Beautiful Bouquet set and was heat-embossed with silver EP and popped up on foam tape. I added 2 Hero Arts red heart-shaped gemstones to the top. The inside reads "May you grow a beautiful life together - Happy Wedding Day!" - Also from the SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Twist n Pop Wedding Card

I had a request from a friend to make a special wedding card by using some elements from the invitation. The theme focused mainly on the two different states the bride and groom are from, so I decided to go with a twist'n pop card for more space to be creative. This is the front of the card, done with vanilla and gold foil cardstock. The embossing was done with a Cuttlebug geometric rings ef and the heart was die-cut with stitched heart dies. The sentiment was heat-embossed with gold ep and a SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp, and the leaves were die-cut with SU! Bouquet  Bunch framelits. The flowers were done with a SU! mini punch and dotted with a pearl pen. I also dotted all the centers on the embossed panel with the pearl pen. and then made a belly band to hold the card closed.

Here is the lower portion of the card. I removed the top portion from the photo because their names and personal information were included. This was heat-embossed with gold using the same SU! stamps and framelits as stated above.
After it was finished, I decided to make a little box to hold the card, so here's what I made...

It pretty much mirrors the card but I added some gold metallic ribbon to the SB Fancy Tags Two die-cut sentiment panel and added 2 smaller stitched die-cut hearts with the bride and groom's initials done with my Quickutz. I dotted the surface with the pearl pen as well. You can click the photos to enlarge for details. The gold heat-embossed sentiment is a retired stamp from SU!.

White Wedding Card

Today I have a wedding card made for my stash so I'm prepared for any quickly needed wedding card. I started with a retired SU! tulip frame embossing folder, then added a Spellbinder's labels eighteen die cut for the sentiment panel. The large ferns are Poppy Shasta twigs, and the flowers were made with SU! Bouquet Bunch framelit dies. The little bird was done with a Gina Marie Designs die and the sentiment was gold-embossed with a SU! Beautiful Bouquet stamp set. I randomly covered the flowers and ferns along with other areas with liquid pearls, and completely covered the little bird with WOS.

I'm entering this into the Dies R Us challenge #87 which is "White on White"

I know the rules clearly state the entire card has to be white on white to qualify for the prize, but I'm entering just for fun anyway. I have no embossing sentiments to use for a wedding card so I added a touch of gold :)

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day!

Watercolored Wedding Card

I needed to add a few wedding cards to my stash so I started by making this one. I began with a piece of watercolor paper sponged with worn lipstick distress oxide ink. I added water until I liked the results, then die cut it with a stitched heart. I also die-cut the Spellbinders Love Vine from white and placed that in the center of the watercolored heart. I used a MFT fishtail banner die for the SU! sentiment, embossing it with gold; then made 2 wedding rings from gold mirror cardstock by die cutting them with a Memory Box Loopy Rings die. I added a tiny white bow to the top of them and embossed the background with a Sizzix (TH) damask embossing folder.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

White Wedding Card

I used a combination of 3 different embossing folders to make this wedding card. The heart sentiment panel was die cut with a stitched heart nesting set of dies. I know it's hard to see them, but there are 2 of the tiniest die-cut hearts from the die set that I placed on the lower right also. I cut 4 strips of 1x3"  and embossed them with a  SU! Petal Burst SU! ef, placing them with just a tiny space between them. Above that I cut a narrow strip of white and embossed that with a SU! Fancy Fan ef, and on the very top I cut a strip of white and embossed that with a WeRMemoryKeepers next level Gemstone ef. I added some white satin ribbon in horizontal rows to separate the embossed panels, then placed the heart sentiment on top with foam dimensionals. I silver-embossed the SU! sentiment and added some pearls with my very old pearl pen and then added some Nuvo crystal gems to the tiny hearts on the bottom. I decided to emboss the envelope flap to match the card. If you click the picture, it should get larger so you can see the details.

I'm sharing this with the Double D "All White" challenge as well as the Dies R Us Challenge #79 which is "anything goes using dies."

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a great weekend!

Wedding Champagne

A couple in the neighborhood has a daughter who's getting married this coming Saturday. I wanted to give her a little something, so I took one of her wedding invitations and cut it apart to make a tag for a bottle of champagne. She's having an outdoor wedding and her invitation was composed of sunflowers, gold colors and woodgrain. I took a piece of the wood-grain panel and cut it to size, punching hearts on the bottom with a MS heart border punch and used vanilla cardstock to in-lay the hearts. The sunflowers were hand-cut from the invitation and placed on top of the wood-grain panel, adding some neutral lace trim to the top with tiny pearls. I used a MS doily punch for the lower borders and gold-embossed a SU! "congratulations" at the top. The medallion with their names was taken from the invitation and attached with the gold twisted twine (also from the invitation), and I made a mat with a Gina Marie Designs stitched circle die. The stringed clear beads were a find from a store close-out that I bought probably 7-8 years ago - knowing I'd find a use for them one day. The decorative bow was recycled from wired gold ribbon on a gift we received a long time ago, and it all seemed just perfectly festive to wrap up this bottle of champagne!

There is nothing prettier than an autumn wedding, and I wish this couple much happiness!

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

Wedding Love Birds

I made another wedding card to add to my stash, and this time I used a Gina Marie Flourished Swans die. The Coastal Cabana embossed "water" was done with a new SU! "Seaside" embossing folder, while the frame was done with a retired SU! "Tulips" embossing folder. The silver-embossed sentiment was done with a retired SU! set called "Well Scripted." The flourishes were done with a Cheery Lynn die; separated and randomly placed to fill in the lower portion of the card. The tiny white flowers were done with a SU! mini flower punch and I added white pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty to the centers. The final touch was to add a little color to the faces of the swans.

I'm sharing this with the Words 2 Craft by W2CB #30 challenge which is "New Beginnings."

I'm also taking it over to show Parsnip and the gang at the Snippets Playground #233 which always requires us to use our snippets.

Thanks for stopping by and make this a great day whatever you do!

June is for Weddings

June is for weddings, and my wedding card stash is depleted, so I knew it was time to get a few made. I used some pretty pre-embossed shimmery silver dsp by DCWV that seemed perfect for special occasion cards like weddings. I paired it with some very pastel pink cardstock from my stash. I stamped flowers from the SU! Petite Petals set with versamark and embossed them with silver. I used a coordinating SU! punch to cut them, and added some pretty rosette stickers from the Paper Studio. The flourish was done with a die by Cheery Lynn and was cut with my Big Shot. I used a snippet of shimmery grey cardstock which blended well with the dsp. The tag was done with a SU! scalloped top tag punch, and the sentiment was silver embossed with a SU! retired set called Whimsical Words. A snippet of satin ribbon and silver twine finished this card.

This one is slightly different as I used one large flower from the SU! Flower Shop set, along with 2 smaller ones from Petite Petals. I used coordinating punches for both sizes to cut them out after embossing them with silver embossing powder. This card includes a darker grey cardstock flourish, and I angled it differently for a varied look from the card above.

I'm sharing over at the Cuttlebug Mania Challenge which has a theme this week of  "wedding." You must use a manual die-cut machine to create your cards for this challenge, and I used my Big Shot to cut the flourishes

Thanks for stopping by and may today be a great kick-off to a wonderful weekend for you! Enjoy!

June is for weddings

It's June, and my neighbor's daughter is getting married next Saturday, so I'm sharing the card I made for them. Their wedding colors are navy and champagne, so I've taken both the navy cardstock from the invitation, and the champagne envelope paper, and used them along with white cardstock to make this card. I began with a SSS thank-you heart die, using just the solid heart portion, and added a MB Serafina heart die-cut on the top. I added some pre-made tiny bows with pearls to the heart along with a SSS small "love you" die, and 2 punched birds using the invitation papers & cardstock. The bird's wings were embossed with a SU! square lattice ef, and I added lots of 2mm clear gemstones and tiny pearls all over the card. The card base was embossed with a SU! tulip border, and a smaller panel was embossed with a Sizzix Curlique & Heart ef and cut to fit inside the framework of the tulips. Click to enlarge the details.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Cuttlebug Mania - Use a die-cut machine and add bling (diamonds, pearls, etc)

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - anything goes.

A Pair of Country Wedding Cards

I was recently asked to make 2 wedding cards for 2 sisters attending the same wedding. They gave me a piece of beautiful lace, a piece of burlap and some leopard-print crepe paper, along with the bridalshower invitation which included a Mason jar, plank floor panel, a banner, and sunflowers. They told me the bride and her bridesmaids were wearing purple dresses and everyone was wearing cowboy boots! YeeHaw!

With a lot of great suggestions and borrowed stamps from my friend Mary Anne, I was able to put this together. I downloaded a handled mason jar image from Glenda's World in a purple color, printed it and fussy-cut it, popping it up on foam tape. I used some tiny tags from SU! that were gold heat-embossed for their initials and the Mr & Mrs tag hanging from the top of the jar. The flowers were from my stash, and I used a SB die for the green stems and leaves. The tiny gold-embossed heart on the jar was done with a Lil Inker die and the "L" is a sticker. The plank floor was a piece of random dsp from my stash. The boots were from a GinaK stamp set and they were fussy cut and popped up on foam tape too. I managed to get a piece of that lace and leopard print on the jar as well as the flower centers, and added a couple tiny purple hearts & initial stickers to the tiny tags to finish the card. Whew!

Here's the card I made for the other sister - racking my brain to make something different while using the same elements! This one includes the banner with tiny sunflowers, on top of a piece of that pretty lace. I used the leopard print on the scallop behind the square panel which was done with a retired SU! stamp that says "love." Their last name starts with "L", so that was a real win-win find! I did the hearts with a SU! punch in vanilla, adding some purple pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty as well as a purple shirt with a gold embossed bow tie. The sister giving this card was astounded, because the bride's dress has little pearls running down the back of her dress, so this was yet another win-win! They both asked for cowboy boots on their cards, so thanks to Mary Anne for loaning me another cowboy boot stamp........this is the inside..

They're all gold embossed and the sentiment is from SU!

This may have been the biggest challenge I've had all year as far as making a custom card goes, but both sisters are happy with the results! Thanks again Mary Anne for all your help and loaning me the perfect stamps!

Wishing everyone a very happy Labor Day today! I hope you all enjoy the extra day off to relax and have fun! Thanks for stopping by!

Wedding Birds

I needed to make a wedding card for a couple of Miami Dolphin football fans who are using the team colors for their wedding. It took me a lot of thought to put the card together and still carry the feel of elegance, but I hope this works! I used the SU! bird punch and made the birds from pumpkin pie and bermuda blue colors. I embossed the background with an Anna Griffin ef, and added glitter and tiny pearls to the small flowers in the embossed design. (click to enlarge for the detail.) I added some glitter to the branch leaves to make them sparkle too.

Here's a close-up of the iridescent-glittered branches and leaves. They add the perfect amount of shimmer to the plain white card stock. I added some very tiny clear gemstones to the birds' eyes, and embossed their wings with a square lattice ef.

I decided to add the silver-embossed SU! sentiment to the inside and let the front of the card just as it is. I used a SB Fancy Tag Shapeability, glittering the ends and all around the edges by using a Versamark pen along with iridescent glitter. In keeping with the color scheme I inserted diamonds on the ends with coordinating colors, and added 2 small punched hearts as well.

I'm entering this card into the Simon Says Stamp "Glitter it" challenge.

Since I used a few colored snippets, I'm also entering this card into the Snippets Playground #116.

Wishing you a happy day, and thanks so much for stopping by!

House Mouse Friendship & CASology "White"

The challenge for #HMFMC128 is "friendship." I thought this sweet little image was a perfect example of being a good friend :) I colored with Copics, adding glossy accents to the flower and creating clouds with Ranger tumbled glass ink. The sentiment is from SNSS and the dsp is from Echo Park. The corner was done with my Quickutz and embossed with the SU! square lattice ef. Ribbon was from my stash, and the sentiment was die cut with a SB ribbon tag.

Here is the cue card for this week's CASology challenge week #11.

This card might just be the quickest Christmas card I've ever made! I embossed the image with a Crafters-too "sleigh" folder, and embossed the sentiment with Holly Red ep and a retired SU! stamp. I rounded the corners and this card was done!
The first card I made for this challenge was all-white, but it didn't turn out too CAS, which is why I made a 2nd one. Here's that first card I made.......

It isn't CAS, but I love how easy it was to make with an embossing folder, a die cut flourish, a few pearls, some punched branches and a store-bought flower.

Thanks for stopping by today and I hope your day is fabulous!

A Wedding Card for the TLC361

The TLC361 challenge today was to create a Belleek Pottery inspired card. I know I'll be needing a wedding card in a couple weeks, so this technique looked perfect for what I had in mind. I used a CB ef (I think it's called Victorian) and brayered the top with Ranger antique linen ink, then ran it through my machine to get this cool look. I started with PTI vintage cream card stock and left the sentiment panels plain for a little contrast. The sentiment is from SU! Ever After and I embossed it in gold. I edged the labels eighteen dies with a Marvy Deco gold paint pen, and did the outside edges of the card base too. The bow was made with my bow-easy, and the flowers w/pearls came from Walmart. Sorry for the wonky-colored photo, but this looks so much better IRL. It's very dreary today and artificial light just doesn't work very well for me :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a sunny day :)
