Thanksgiving Bag-A-Lope

While reading Vicki's recent blog post, she made a Bag-A-Lope and posted a video showing how to make one. I was intrigued as I'd never seen one before, so of course I had to give it a try! I've had a pack of black envelopes for quite a while and seldom use them, so I figured I'd try to make one and this is the result. I like how it turned out and it's perfect for giving hand-made treats at Thanksgiving dinner! I used an unbranded mesh die along with some Lawn Fawn stitched leaves and added a punched SU! sentiment from the "Tags 4 You" stamp set. (Incidentally, if anyone knows of someone who has this stamp set and wants to sell it, please let me know!  Blogging friends have stamped a whole bunch of sentiments for me from this set and they're all just about gone, and I hate to keep asking for favors)
I added 3 different colored enamel dots from SU! along with a twine bow. I cut the top edge with a pair of deckle-edge scissors. I didn't add ribbon yet as I don't know what I'll fill this with, but I can easily add that later. Thanks for the tutorial Vicki - I just love this great little idea!

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Grape Soda Candy Corn

My friend Mary Anne gave me this fun large candy corn die and I decided Halloween was the perfect occasion to use it to make a card. (thanks M.A.) I googled candy corn to determine where the traditional colors of yellow, orange and white are on this candy. I was surprised to see they now have many flavors, including blueberry and grape soda, so since purple is my favorite color, I went with a grape soda candy corn. I used Cocoa Mouse from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and fussy cut him to put behind the giant piece of candy. I stamped the background with a very old candy corn stamp and colored the candy with Gorgeous grape and black. The SU! sentiment panel is a die-cut from Lil Inkers and the enamel dots are from GMD.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Winter Card

I recently won this Just for Fun image and then read yesterday that they decided to close the monthly challenge. Oh well, things change and we've got to roll with the flow.
I stamped the image with Versafine Onyx Black ink onto a leftover snippet of water colored card, then immediately heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder. I fussy cut the image and placed it on some white card, then used some Echo Park Winter Wonderland dsp to cut 3 scalloped borders with SNSS scalloped dies. I added a few sparkly Nuvo drops to indicate the wet, snowy weather outside the window, and added a warm hello sentiment.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

2nd Birthday Card

Here's a birthday card I made for my friend's grandson who recently turned 2. I used a Bugaboo image for this, coloring with Copics in bright colors. I die-cut the image panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, placing it on a Pacific Point card base. The sentiment panel was done with both a SNSS stamp and ticket die but trimmed a bit to fit the panel. I added a die-cut negative star from a SSS star border die. The balloons were done with a Martha Stewart punch and embellished with Quickutz die-cuts to show his age, and the final touch was to add some colorful twine balloon strings.

Happy Valentine's Day!

I have 2 more Valentine's to share, and both were done with an unbranded heart die, where I cut with alternating colors, and inlaid the negative bits for some contrast. On this one, I stamped the sentiment into the solid heart, adding 3 tiny pink gemstones. It looks CAS but it took a while to place those bits into the proper places :)

I'm sharing this card with these challenges:

Alfie Valentine

Today I'm sharing a card I made with Unity's Heart & Soul Alfie image. My friend's grandson will be celebrating his first Valentine's day, so this is for him. I colored the image with Copics, die-cut it with a stitched square die, then used a SB scalloped die to make the mat. The dsp is from SU! (retired) and the little tag was done with an ancient SU! set of tag punches along with a cute (r) SU! stamp I saved that coordinates with the punches. I added a littleglossy accents on Alfie's heart as well as the tiny red heart on the tag; then finished with a double twine bow

Thinking of You

I sponged a panel with some distress inks before stamping this Stampendous tree poem image in Versafine black ink. After it dried, I lightly dotted glue on the tree leaves only and then added glitter for a beautiful subtle sparkle. Unfortunately, it was a cloudy day when I took this photo so the glitter just doesn't show up too well. I put it on a pool party card base, and added a little snippet of pool party for the Sweet 'n Sassy stamped sentiment.

Christmas for the Pets

I had a request from a friend to make a Christmas card with dogs and cats on it, since her daughter has pets. I used snippets of dsp and cardstock, along with a die-cut Christmas tree from SU!'s Perfect Pines thinlet die set. The tan dog is a die-cut from I.O. and the little Playful Pup die is from MB, while the cat was die-cut and shared with me by my friend who has the cat dies. I decorated the tree with Geo Sparkler stickers and a die-cut glittered star done with a die from the Perfect Pines die set. The sentiment is from SU! and the red glittered strip was a random addition done with another snippet of glitter paper.

I'm sharing this with

Christmas Hedgehog

I've had a couple of these Penny Black stamped images in my stash for quite some time now, and decided with Christmas just around the corner I'd better get busy and use them! I colored this with Copics and added some Frosted Stickles to the fur on the stocking along with some gold paint pen accents.
I used dsp from an old Bo Bunny Christmas pack, along with some dark green cardstock that was embossed with a CB Snowglobe ef. The tags were cut with Lawn Fawn tag dies and tied together with some twine. The enamel dots are from Taylored Expressions and the sentiment is from SU!

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Halloween Matchbook Treats

I have lots of Halloween dsp left over from last year, so I decided to make a few matchbox treats for this year. Here is one of them with a Memory Box die-cut spider and I dotted his eyes with a white gel pen to make him creepier. When you open this up, here's what's inside...

The photo on the left shows the inside with the double-sided paper found at Tuesday Morning years ago. The Trick or Treat sentiment is by Lawn Fawn, and I added a little IO die-cut ghost that was embossed with Lawn Fawn glow-in-the-dark ep. The photo on the right is the inside of another matchbook that was made with SU! dsp, a Unity white-embossed sentiment punched with an EK ticket punch, and what these treats are filled with - a WAWA coffee thin! I wish I'd never discovered these wafer-thin coffee/chocolate bites of deliciousness because they are a bite of heaven!! If I enjoy them this much, I'm sure other coffee/chocolate lovers will too, so those are my treats for this Halloween. I'm grateful they are sold individually and NOT sold in bags, or I'd be in a sugar coma by now!

Here is the assortment I've made using all stamps, dies, stickers and elements from my Halloween stash. These are SO much fun to make and a great way to use up those little bits of dsp and cardstock too!

If you need any specifics for products used, just email me with your questions. My email address is on the sidebar. I used the Splitcoaststampers tutorial for making these.

I will enter this project into the following challenges:

Baby Boy Card

Today I have a baby card made with a Sweet'n Sassy Cocoa Mouse image that I colored with Copics. I used my Big Shot to cut the image panel with a Gina Marie Designs stitched square die along with the MFT stitched tiny tag done in 2 colors. I added a tiny punched white heart (SU! owl punch) and some twine tied into a bow. The plaid dsp has been in my stash for years and was purchased at QVC.

Birthday Cards

Today I have a couple birthday cards using the Tim Holtz Crazy dog and cat images. First up is the dog with balloons tied onto his tail with twine and I hand-drew the strings from the balloons. I used a Melon Mambo cardbase with punched balloons in Melon Mambo, chocolate, lemon-lime, and medium blue, accenting with a white gel pen. The dog was colored with Copics, and I added glossy accents to his tongue and eyelids. The TH accessories hat was colored with Copics, then heat-embossed with clear detail ep, fussy cut, and placed on his head. The bone was done with a $1 stamp set from Michaels, while the sentiment is TE. I hand-drew the floor to ground this pup, using Copics in shades of pale green, tan and blue. Pink Nuvo drops were the finishing touch for this card.

Here's the cat with a Tim Holtz stamped sentiment and a package stamped and colored, then fussy cut and placed upon the hand-drawn/colored floor. I used some SU! white/silver twine to tie the balloons on his tail and accented the eyes and nose with glossy accents. For this one, I added some aqua Nuvo drops.

I'm entering these into the following challenges:

Kraft Thank You

It's been raining here in Eastern PA for the past few days, so I wasn't able to get photos of the cards I've been making, but this morning the sun peeked through long enough to get a shot of this card. I planned to enter it into a couple more challenges but they've closed while it's been raining - bummer!
Anyhoo, I began with a kraft card base, and stenciled some white pigment ink through a SU! stencil to create the bricks on the bottom portion. The sentiment die is by KaiserCraft and the leafy stems were done with Precious Marieke Leaves dies. The flower is by Prima, dotted with a Nuvo Glitter Drop in the center, and the little bee is by Lawn Fawn, colored with a glaze pen, a black marker, and some WOS glitter pen.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Halloween Fun

I have another Halloween card to share today. I liked this sketch over at the My Favorite Things weekly Sketch Challenge MFTWSC399 and wanted to play along.

I started with some retired dsp from SU! and added some die cut edges done with a MFT notched border die, coloring them with a Copic that matched the candy corn. I die cut 3 MFT stitched circles - 1 in black and 2 in white. I colored the larger circle with a matching yellow Copic. I split the black circle into 2 pieces, and punched the top of the bottom portion with an EK border punch. I carefully glued the black circle pieces over the white circle allowing room for the stamped sentiment on white between them. I added a strip of orange cardstock behind the jack-o-lantern faces and dotted the eyes with a yellow glaze pen. The candy corn and bat are from Lawn Fawn, and the gel stickers have been in my stash for a long time.

I'm also entering this card into the Love to Craft August LTCCB #25 challenge which is anything goes.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!
