Happy Father's Day

With Father's Day being less than a week away, I knew it was time to get busy and make my husband his father's day card. Every year I've used a horse image because horses were a big part of his life since he was a child, but this year I wanted to do something different, so I went with a rustic wood look instead. I pulled out some leftover strips of wooden dsp by SU! and adhered them randomly to a piece of card stock, then embossed it all with a TH wooden ef. I die cut both the wooden panel along with the GinaK blue raspberry card base with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. The "happy" from SSS "oh happy day" dies was cut twice and stacked for dimension, while the father's day was stamped with Versamark, and heat embossed with white ep. The finishing touches were 3 brads and I think he'll like this one.

I'm sharing with these challenges:

Cardz4Guyz challenge #221 - for father's day

Thanks for stopping by and as always, I wish you a fantastic day!

The different colors of wood are really neat all put together like this, but they flow by using that wood embossing folder. This is a wonderful card!

That blue raspberry has always been a favorite card stock for me. Love it paired with the wood bits. He will enjoy the little change. Good job.

Love this, Carol! All those pieces of Wood DSP and then embossed with a Woodgrain EF really just makes it look real! The blue cardstock looks amazing with the wood paper, too! Awesome card! :)
