More Tags

Today I have a few more tags to share. These were all done with a Lawn Fawn die-cut tag, and a MB playful pup die, along with my retired SU! tree punch. I added assorted snippets of dsp and embellishments to make each one different.

The "ornaments" on the trees were done with Geo Sparkler stickers that I've had in my stash for quite some time.

One more version using different snippets of dsp and ribbon.

Christmas Tags for the Guys

I'm trying to use the stash I've accumulated through the years, and making tags is a great way to make those little snippets of designer paper, ribbon, and card stock disappear! I used a Lawn Fawn die to cut all the tags, and I've had a container of these punched deer for years! They were done with a Martha Stewart punch, and they're the perfect size for tags. I added a die-cut Lawn Fawn stitched golden snowflake to this one....

 I added a sprig of holly with some red liquid pearl drops to this one...

For the third tag, this one has a sprig of holly but gold Stickles were used for the berries. I designed these after a tag I saw in the SU! catalog.

Coffee Gift Card

Here's the inspiration photo for the current Double D challenge which is Tea and/or Coffee. My husband is an avid fan of WaWa coffee and one thing he enjoys is a gift card to buy his coffee there. I made a gift tag/card holder for him.

Here's the holder, cut from a snippet of dsp to look like a coin envelope, but instead of a flap to close it, I used a large punch to cut a circle at the top to insert the tag/gift card.  I used a MFT fishtail banner cut from turquoise, and added a SU! sentiment done with a hexagon punch.

Here's the kraft tag that was done with a SU! scalloped top punch and a corner rounder. I used a stamp from SU! Healing Hugs with 2 different colors of brown ink to make the background, then sponged the edges with antique linen distress ink. The coffee cup image has been among my stamped images for years, and I have no clue who made it, but I colored it with Copics, clear heat-embossed it, and then fussy cut it and placed it on the tag. I added some SU! chocolate chip ribbon with neutral twine tied around it. The "Break Time" sentiment was done with stick stamps on turquoise with early espresso ink and cut to fit the tag. The gift card will be tucked inside the pocket along with this tag.

Another 3D Tag

I just cannot stop making these 3D tags for some reason. I'm loving how I can use an assortment of colors and sentiments. For this one I used the largest tree in the SU! perfect pines framelit die set, and cut 6 trees from white cardstock. I die-cut the tree stand from a snippet of dark brown, using a framelit from the same die set. For the red tag, I used a SU! scalloped top tag punch, along with a corner rounder on the bottom. I stamped a snowy background with 2 stick stamps by Judith along with some Simon Says Stamp white pigment ink. The green "merry" sentiment panel was heat-embossed with gold and dotted with the same red stickles used to "decorate" the tree. The triple twine bow was done with red & white twine from the twinery. More 3D Tags

I had time to create a couple more 3D tags like the one I shared in the post below this one. For this tag I used the largest tree die in the Perfect Pines SU! framelit set and cut it with white. I also cut the tree stand from the same framelit die set with a snippet of dark brown. The tag itself was done with 2 SU! punches; the scalloped top tag and rounded corner. I dotted the tree with gold stickles and added a triple twine bow.

I know the SU! ornament punch is retired, but I'll never part with mine. I used it to make this 3D tag, stamping each ornament with white pigment ink before assembling. I used a very vanilla tag with some gray & silver twisted divine twine from Pizzazz Aplenty that I've had for ages. I also hand-cut a topper for the ornament with silver mirror card, and added silver stickles to the outside edges. Both tags have a sentiment from the SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes stamp set.

Christmas Tags for the Guys

I usually make lots of tags during the year to use up those small snippets of cardstock, and tags will definitely make good use of those small bits of cardstock. I used some Poppy Tiny Fawns dies to make the deer, and hand-drew in the faces. Next time I'll leave the faces blank or just add a dab of red glitter for the noses. I used bits of green and black cardstock, and cut them with a SU! scalloped top tag punch, adding some older deer ribbon I've had for eons. The white birch trees were done with an unmarked stamp generously gifted to me by a friend, and I heat embossed it with white ep. For the black tag, I die cut a silver mirror card circle for the punched hole before adding ribbon, then tied the ribbon with some black & white twisted twine. I just toss these tags into a box and have plenty to share with my friends at the end of the year.

Easter Tags

I've made a few Easter tags using little bits of leftover cardstock. The bunnies are all die cuts done with GinaMarieDesigns large and small bunny dies in blue and burgundy colors, with bits of grass done with a SNSS grass die. The sentiment is from SU! and the tags were done with a SU! note tag punch. The ribbon and twine was from my stash.

Old Fashioned Tag

Here's a tag I put together with some snippets of cardstock, designer paper, twine and ribbon. I used a Lawn Fawn "Tag it" die set to cut the tags from vanilla and SU designer paper, then used a SU! Hearts A Flutter framelits die set to cut the small red scalloped top element. The greens were cut with a Martha Stewart fern punch and dotted with gold stickles for a little sparkle. I added a SU! sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a twine bow, and some vanilla ribbon with a snippet of gold cord.

Masculine Tags

We have friends who like to hunt, so I made a couple masculine tags to attach to their goody bags for Christmas. I used strips of dsp from a DCWV paper pad and formed them into a herringbone pattern. I die cut the tag using a Lawn Fawn Tag You're It set, then added some snowy hills by cutting snippets with Lawn Fawn stitched hillside dies. I added an I.O. deer from expresso cardstock, then stamped a sentiment using a retired SU! set. I added a snippet of ribbon and twine and called this one done. I had enough herringbone pattern left to cut another tag, so I made a 2nd one...

I used a different I.O. deer image and added a different color snippet of ribbon and twine, along with a different stamped sentiment.

I'm taking these to the Tuesday Throwdown TT321 which is to "make a tag."

Wedding Champagne

A couple in the neighborhood has a daughter who's getting married this coming Saturday. I wanted to give her a little something, so I took one of her wedding invitations and cut it apart to make a tag for a bottle of champagne. She's having an outdoor wedding and her invitation was composed of sunflowers, gold colors and woodgrain. I took a piece of the wood-grain panel and cut it to size, punching hearts on the bottom with a MS heart border punch and used vanilla cardstock to in-lay the hearts. The sunflowers were hand-cut from the invitation and placed on top of the wood-grain panel, adding some neutral lace trim to the top with tiny pearls. I used a MS doily punch for the lower borders and gold-embossed a SU! "congratulations" at the top. The medallion with their names was taken from the invitation and attached with the gold twisted twine (also from the invitation), and I made a mat with a Gina Marie Designs stitched circle die. The stringed clear beads were a find from a store close-out that I bought probably 7-8 years ago - knowing I'd find a use for them one day. The decorative bow was recycled from wired gold ribbon on a gift we received a long time ago, and it all seemed just perfectly festive to wrap up this bottle of champagne!

There is nothing prettier than an autumn wedding, and I wish this couple much happiness!

Thank-you Card and Matching Tag

I found this combination of Hello Honey, Bermuda Bay, and Soho Garden dsp and cardstock very pleasing to my eye, so I used them to make a card and matching tag. I used a Darice Daisy die for the flower, cutting the stem in black and the flowers in hello honey, with the centers in bermuda blue. Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies were used to cut the card base and blue panel, while the diagonal panel was done with a MFT diagonal stitched die. The white-embossed sentiment is by SU! (r) 

For the tag, I used a SU! scalloped top punch, along with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die, adding a punched circle SU! (r) sentiment, along with a punched flower and mini brad. The little stars at the bottom were negatives from a SSS Pinpoint Border die. The ribbon is Hello Honey tied with some gold twine.

Birthday Tags

Whenever I make a card, I often make tags from the leftover snippets, because I have a neighbor who loves using tags, so I give most of them to her. I'd punched a lot of 1" squares to make cards, so I thought why not make tags with them too? Here are 2 versions where I used an Art Impressions dog image along with a SU! sentiment. The balloons were done with a MS punch, and the tags were formed with a SU! scalloped top punch. I added some navy & white twine for the finishing touch and added 2 more tags to my stash.

Birthday Set

I made this card and matching tag with Pool Party and Island Indigo colors. The flowers & leaves were done with a HA stamp set, colored with Spectrum Noir markers, and popped up with foam tape for dimension. The centers were dotted with liquid pearls. The embossed panels were done with an Anna Griffin ef set, and separated with Island Indigo satin ribbon. The sentiment was done with SU! punches and stamps in matching colors. The tag was done with a SU! scalloped top punch and I added a die cut panel done with a Lil Inker diagonal stitched die and rounded the lower corners for a softer look. The tag sentiment is by LOTV and the final touch was adding some matching ribbon and silver cording.

Birthday Card & Matching Tag

I had a few snippets on my work table in shades of pink, grey, white and black, so I made a birthday card with them. I used a Darice Daisy die along with a set of MFT horizontal stitched dies, and pieced them all together on a white card base. The black panel was cut with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die and I added some pink and clear gemstones along with a SU! sentiment to finish this one.

When you still have leftover snippets, you can always make a matching tag! I used this adorable Hero Arts Holiday Dachshund stamp (a birthday gift from a sweet blogging friend) and colored *her* with Copics. After covering the colored image with clear embossing powder and heat sealing it, I fussy cut it and adhered it to a piece of pink cardstock that was cut with a SU! scalloped top punch. I punched some balloons with a MS punch, and hand drew some balloon strings to float them. The sentiment is by Avery Elle and the ribbon and silver cord is from my stash!

I'll be sharing these with the Snippets Playground #208 and #209 as the challenge will run for 2 weeks over the holidays.

Christmas Tags

Every year I make lots of tags from snippets of cardstock and give them away to friends and neighbors who can use them. I always keep those small bits of paper and cardstock that can be useful for small items like tags. This was made with a very old Quickutz die called "Cookies" and some glittered gold cardstock. I used a Lil Inker diagonal stitched die to make the sentiment panel and added mini brads all over the tree for decorations.

I used the same Quickutz die for this tag, cutting both panels and layering them. The top layer cuts holes for ornaments, so I added some glittered gold negative cuts along with a red gemstone for the top. I added a snippet of red & green dsp for interest.

Mostly Red

Here's another card added to my stash this year that makes use of a Memory Box pine needle border die. I embossed the PTI sentiment in white on a red background, die cutting with Lil Inker stitched rectangles. I added some punched ornaments and ribbon, put this on a green card base and called this one done!

I also have a little tag I made from scraps that's mostly red.

Christmas and Halloween

This Christmas card is for the SOS and Jingle Belles Bonus challenge to make a Christmas card with something that's at least a year old. Here's the link to the Jingle Belles blog where you can link your card as well. Everything on this card is over a year old. The image is a Hero Arts wired star that was embossed with silver ep on GinaK Blue Raspberry cardstock. The silver brads I've had forever, along with the SU! sentiment. The vertical border was done with a SNSS ribbon die, threaded with silver metallic ribbon, and placed on a MS punched snowflake border. Thanks to fun challenges like this, I have a pretty good Christmas stash already, so I'm prepared! It's great to use my stash to create cards too instead of running out to buy more schtuff!

I'm also going to enter the SOS #219 "Outta this World" challenge to use an "alien" on a card. I don't have anything close to an alien image, so I pulled out my trusty old owl punch and created my own "alien."

I punched the owl from black and green cardstock, trimming down the green portion to look like a costume coverall (sheet?) and added some incognito fussy cut glasses done with a Unity Stamp. I colored the glasses with fluorescent Copics, added glossy accents and finally some googly eyes from SU!. I used a very old retired SU! set to make the candy corn; colored them with Copics, and fussy cut each piece. I placed the owl on a white note tag punch (SU!), then placed it on an orange scalloped tag punch (SU!), adding Halloween ribbon and purple twine. Since the Unity stamp includes 3 images of glasses, I made 2 more tags with the remaining 2 pair. Here's all 3 together:

These will be attached to some Halloween treat bags for the upcoming holiday.

Bunny Tags

Here are a couple Easter Basket tags I've made using retired SU! dsp and cardstock in pure poppy and pear pizzazz colors. I hand-cut the tags and added some Lil Inker stitched bunny & bow die cuts done with my Big Shot. The flowers were done with SU! petite petals stamps and a matching punch. I added pearls to the centers and the sentiment was a masked portion from a longer clear sentiment stamp. I added some eyelets, ribbon, lace and twine for to the tops and finished them with tiny blue and black gemstones for eyes.

Rudolph Knows Santa!

I've been having fun making these little Rudolph faces for cards and tags, so I made one for the Unity FWF challenge today. I started with an old manila folder and cut it into pieces for tags. I embossed this one with a Sizzix ef, and sponged on vintage photo ink. I added a piece of ribbon, a couple snippets of dsp, and then Rudolph - cut from a SU! owl punch with googly eyes, and a big red shiny nose done with cardstock and glossy accents. I hand-drew the mouth with a brown marker. The antlers were done with a Quickutz easter chick die, and the sentiment is by Unity. I doubled this tag up with another tag on the back to make it sturdy and sent it to the grands to hang on their tree after signing and dating the back.

Christmas is sneaking up on us full speed now, so I'm thankful most everything I wanted to do is done.............well almost :) I still have some shopping to do :)

Be Inspired

Here's a tag I made for the Unity Be Inspired challenge going on this month. I used the following photo inspiration .......

                                        

 I spotted the door in the photo and remembered I had this Unity Itty Bitty stamp called "shut the front door!" I used an old manilla file folder for the tag, embossed it with a bricked ef, and sponged Fired Brick ink all over it for a vintage look. I stamped the door image on another scrap of manilla folder, and fussy cut it, popping it up on foam tape. I added negative pieces from die cuts along with a little heart randomly around the door image. I put glossy accents on the windows, and red smooch on the lower door panel, along with some wine colored ribbon with silver cording. I punched some MS ferns in embossed silver and white and added a few red gemstones for the door spray. On the reverse side, I stamped "Merry Christmas from our house to yours."
