Season's Tweetings

I've had this Lawn Fawn stamp set for a while and don't use it nearly enough, so today I'm sharing a Christmas card I made with it. I colored the little birds with Copics and stenciled some clouds behind them with some tumbled glass distress ink. I die cut both the image panel and blue panel as well as the card base with Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies. This one has already gone out in the mail and I'm glad to have put this cute stamp set to use once again.

I will share this card with the following challenges:

The December 2024 Stencil Fun Challenge - Winter/Christmas

the Triple B December 2024 Challenge - Blooms, Birds, Butterflies

(use 1,2 or all 3)

the Peace on Earth Christmas Challenge #78 - A/G Christmas

the Allsorts Challenge Week #812/13 - Use Your Dies

Thanks for stopping by and as always, I wish you the best day ever!

Christmas Poinsettia

I used an older Spellbinders Poinsettia die to create this card. While the pieces were still in the die, I took a gold paint pen and drew through the lines on the petals which gave the poinsettia a more festive look. Unfortunately the paint pen malfunctioned on one of those leaves and leaked all over it, but I managed to hide most of the blotch of gold ink under another petal. I decided to use it instead of creating another one. I curled each petal around a pencil to shape them and then popped the flower up on dimensionals, along with the leaf. The embossing folder is a poinsettia design by Taylored Expressions. The sentiment is a pre-printed one by Simon Says Stamp. I added a ancient gemstone to the center of the flower and called this one done.

I'll enter this card into the following challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure? Dec 14, 2024 - A/G with a twist of Poinsettias
(must use an embossing folder)

The Triple B December 2024 Challenge - Birds, blooms, or Butterflies
(or use all 3)

the Allsorts Challenge Week #811 - Lots of White or A/G

Thanks for stopping by and have a great Monday.

Birthday Card with Gold

I made this card for a friend of mine who recently celebrated her birthday. I found a pretty snippet of striped paper (not sure who makes it) and a strip of coordinating cardstock to design the card. I used a mini stencil from Creative Expressions on the side with some distress inks to add a little interest, and added a die-cut golden stem along with the rosette that a thoughtful friend sent me. The sentiment is gold-embossed with a SU! stamp and die combo (also a gift from another thoughtful friend) and I added some small flowers done with a (R) SU! mini punch and added random clear gems to the centers and the sentiment panel as well. For the final touch, I added a ladybug brad to the center of the rosette and used a fine red marker to outline the dots on the sentiment panel.

Sharing this with these challenges:

The Stencil Fun Challenge for October - use a stencil *opt. Halloween

The NBUS Challenge #67 - never before used stuff (stencil, sentiment stamp & die)
the Triple B October 2024 Challenge - birds, butterflies, blooms. Use 1,2, or all 3

Thanks for stopping by to visit and I wish you a wonderful day.

Halloween Card

It's time to start making those Halloween cards so I pulled out this Lawn Fawn die and added little snippets of Halloween designer papers along with some stamped images and die cuts. The candy corn was done with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies and colored with Copics. The ghost mouse is an image by House Mouse and I added a tiny tag done with a long retired SU! mini punch and a glittery green sticker. The raven on the branch was cut with a die from Gina Marie Designs and the pre-printed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. The last square is just a bit of designer paper that fit perfectly into the last square.

Sharing this card with the following challenges:

The Allsorts Challenge week #798 - "Something Fishy" or A/G

Simon Says Wednesday Challenge - 4-legged friends (mouse)

HMFMC #424 - A/G + Option- Use Scraps of Paper

Triple B September 2024 Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies
(use 1, 2, or all 3) - I used a bird

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great September day whatever you're doing.

I spotted a sign earlier this week that said "Be the "FUN" in dysfunctional.
Good advice 😁

Sending Hugs

I had a play with my old Quickutz and a corner die along with a little flower paper punch and some pink papers and cardstock. I cut all the corners and placed them together to make little squares, and placed a glittered flower on top of each square. I used an old pearl pen (anyone remember them?) and gave each flower a pearl center along with a few others on the corners. I matted that panel with an older piece of SU! glittered cardstock and added another piece of pink dsp. behind that on a SU! Berry Burst card base. The hugs sentiment was done with a die from Pink and Main and the designer papers are from an old Tim Holtz paper pad. I wasn't sure if I liked this after it was finished but after all the work I put into it, I decided to share it anyway LOL

Sharing this with...

the Allsorts Challenge Week #797 - fall colors or A/G option

Triple B September 2024 Challenge - birds, blooms, butterflies-use 1,2, or all 3 - I used blooms

Thanks for the visit and I hope all is well in your part of the world today.

Birthday Sweet peas

'

I'm guest designing for the Allsorts challenge 796 this week with a floral birthday card. The challenge is to "add a sentiment."

I dug deep into my stash and found this pretty Flourishes Sweet Pea stamp. Sadly Flourishes closed quite some time ago but this stamp still looks as pretty as ever.  I stamped the card base with the Sweet Pea image as well as another panel which I cut with a Cheery Lynn Designs French Lattice cover plate and then carefully placed it over the card base, matching up all the images as closely as possible. I colored everything with Copics and added lots of tiny black Nuvo Dots before adding a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp birthday sentiment. This was the first time I tried this technique and I love how it turned out.

Also sharing with these challenges:

Triple B August 2024 Challenge - birds butterflies, blooms - use 1, 2 or all 3

Beautiful Blossoms Challenge #20 - A/G Floral with optional mood board

Thanks for stopping by and I look forward to seeing the gallery filled with your designs with sentiments for this week's challenge.

Encouragement

A very thoughtful and kind friend gifted me with these pretty SU! papers called "Wonderful World" and I love the summer feel of each and every one with the flowers and colors, so I used some snippets and cut them down to create this patchwork card. The big sentiment is by Pink and Main; cut from berry-colored card stock along with some pink. The word "sending" came from another stamp set and I backed it with black.

Sharing with these challenges:

Love Those Pretty Papers August Challenge - Use DSP *optional summertime

Word Power #8 - Make the sentiment the focus of your card

the Triple B August 2024 Challenge - use Birds, Butterflies, or Blooms
use 1,2, or all 3

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend too!

Hello Friend

Years ago I bought a huge 2" thick paper pad of all black and white designs for a couple dollars at Tuesday Mornings which has now sadly closed. The cover was missing so I don't know who made it, but in spite of sharing a lot of the papers, I have tons of it left along with a hefty bag of snippets. I used a couple of those snippets to make this card, adding another white snippet border done with a MS Doily punch. The butterfly die was an unbranded gift from a friend which I cut with snippets of white, red, and black and covered with glazed accents to hold all of those bits in place. The sentiment panel is an older die cut from Whimsy with a Gina K designs sentiment. For a little sparkle, I added some black Nuvo dots on the punched border.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

the Triple B August 2024 Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies, use 1 or all 3

with an optional theme of summertime

Thanks for the visit, and as always, I wish you the best day ever.

July is For the Birds

I finally found time to make a couple cards and use up some pretty papers from SU! that a thoughtful friend shared with me a while ago. I used an unbranded bird die along with a snippet of kraft which was also cut with an unbranded burlap die, and placed them both on 2 stitched circles from MFT. I found the directions to make this diamond card on a brand new challenge called "Love Those Pretty Papers" which inspired me to play along. Lord knows I have more than enough paper in my stash so I knew this would be a no-brainer! 😊
The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers which unfortunately closed quite a few years ago. I added a black diamond dot to the bird's eye, along with 3 yellow ones just for fun

I will enter this card into these challenges :

Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge #1 - A/G using patterned papers

The Triple B July 2024 Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies; use 1,2, or all 3

Using the same SU! paper pad, I made a 2nd card using some different patterns along with a different sentiment. I used a dark green card base for this one and added some white candy dots for accents along with a black dot for the bird's eye. I colored the bird with Copics and added an older sentiment that has the name worn off after so many years of using it.

I'll share this card with these two challenges:

The Snippets Playground #484 - Must Use Snippets (the entire card was made with snippets)

the Allsorts Challenge Week #789 - Use Circles or A/G

Thanks for stopping by and I hope it's cool where you live. We are bracing for triple digit temperatures today with very high humidity, so I'll be staying indoors without a doubt! Keeping my fingers crossed that my old A/C unit keeps working and we soon get some much-needed rain too! 😉

Flowers for Mother

I made this card recently for Mother's day, using a Darice flower die along with some olive green, yellow embossed cardstock and little bits of black for the flower centers. I stenciled the background with some T. E. cloud stencils and some TH Tumbled Glass Distress ink, then stamped a couple birds done with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps. I also stamped a tiny Sweet 'n Sassy butterfly and dotted some colors on it with glaze pens. The final touch was adding the heat-embossed sentiment from SU!'s teeny tiny wishes, done with white ep on black and cutting it with some Gina Marie Designs Venetian Label dies.

Take Care

While rummaging through my snippets, I found some random scraps of paper and cardstock to put this card together. I started with the white square placed on the black and white dsp, then framed around it with strips of grey. I die cut the Darice Daisy stem with scraps of pastel green, yellow, and black and placed it on the card, adding a twine bow and some black Nuvo drops. The Simon Says Stamp sentiment was die cut from the same snippet of yellow and I called this one done.

I'll share this card with the following challenges:

If I disappear for a while, it's because I'm having serious computer issues. Now I've lost all sound on my computer and all efforts to restore it have failed so far. I think the gremlins have taken over this machine and are making life interesting for sure. Clearly I'm still unable to link websites within the text and now I'm being booted offline randomly as well. I hope to be back again soon in good working order.

Birthday Butterfly

I found a sketch I wanted to play along with and brought out my Memory Box Vivienne and Darla Butterfly dies along with some polka dot papers to make this card. I die-cut the butterfly from white as well as all the polka dot paper colors and swapped the negatives for a colorful butterfly. I've learned that I'm not as good with swapping those tiny pieces anymore like I once was, and had a difficult time with doing my favorite technique, but I'm OK with the results and hopefully no one will look too closely to see the oopsies! LOL
I used a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder for the center panel in keeping with the polka-dot theme and added a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment and called this one finished.

I'll share this card with the following challenges:

the Triple B May 2024 challenge - use birds, blooms and/or butterflies
(use one, two, or all three)

Can You Handle the Pressure? May 11, 2024 - A/G using an embossing folder with an optional twist of using flowers.

Birthday Bird

I made one of these book binding cards last year and decided I'd make another one because they're fun to make. I used pieces of SU! Coastal Cabana cardstock and matching dsp for this one, stenciling the blue skies with some Tumbled Glass ink. The bird and branch were done with a SU! punch and I added a tiny black gemstone for the eye. The ribbon was a generous gift from a thoughtful friend and I just love how it blends with this color scheme. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from Simon Says Stamp matted with some black cardstock to match all the black-matted panels.

I'll share this with the Allsorts Challenge #779 - More than One Fold or A/G

Birds, Blooms, and/or Butterflies. Use 1,2, or all 3

Wishing you all a great day whatever you're doing. Thanks for the visit as always and keep smiling :)

You've Got This

A friend of mine is undergoing surgery on Friday, so I made this card to  give her a little encouragement. I used some MB papers along with some soft grey cardstock to make the background. The sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp and was die cut with black cardstock. The flowers and leaves were done with a Hero Arts stamp set, fussy cut, and popped up on foam bits. The tiny white flowers were added on top of the pink flowers and finished with a tiny black gem. The final touch was to add some pastel pink Nuvo drops to the sentiment panel.

I'm sharing this with these challenges:

the Triple B April 2024 Challenge - use Birds, Butterflies, or Blooms

Grateful

I love this Stampendous stamp and use it often because it reminds us to always be grateful in spite of our hardships and difficulties. I found a few leftover strips of Lawn Fawn autumn themed papers and added them to the side of the card, adding some die-cut Lawn fawn leaves cut from more snippets of autumn colored papers. The little bird was cut with a snippet of black and a SnSS die, dotting the eye with a white gel pen. The tiny sun is a die from Lawn Fawn and was made from snippets also.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #478 - must use snippets

the Triple B April 2024 Challenge -  use 1,2, or 3 of Birds, Blooms, Butterflies
or if you choose, use all 3

Spring Floral Birthday Card

I've always been fond of this Mark's Finest Papers (now closed) floral stamp so I made this simple birthday card in shades of blue and green with touches of yellow for the flower centers. I colored the image with Copics, adding a pre-printed sentiment from SSS and 3 matching gemstones. It was quick and easy but I love how it turned out.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Birthday Wishes

Today I have a card put together with snippets of papers and cardstock bits. I used an assortment of dies and punches to create the pail filled with flowers, stems, and a bow. The flower centers were dotted with black Nuvo drops and the butterflies (cut with a very old SU! die) were dotted with tiny gemstones. I used leftover strips of dsp from Sunny Studios and the SNSS sentiment was stamped and colored with glaze pens to add a little more color.

I'll share this with the Snippets Playground #474 since it was entirely made from snippets

I used 5 of the six colors to choose from,
included borders, birthday wishes, and of course added 3 butterflies.

Tea Bag Holders

I made a few tea bag holders this year which was something new for me. I've always been a coffee person but have learned to like tea now and then too. This one was done in shades of blue and green with a die-cut Shasta twig on the front along with some die-cut stitched squares and a big blue gemstone. Since big gemstones like this don't mail well on cards, I've decided to use them on items like this that don't require mailing.

Here's one I made for Autumn giving, done with a big beautiful craft leaf I found in my stash. I paired it with some Lawn Fawn autumn designer paper and some orange ribbon.

Here's another one made with a snippet of long retired designer paper and 3 flowers and pearls from my stash, all tied up with some lavender ribbon.

Here's what it looks like opened. I stamped a sentiment on the left and wrote a little message in the center and the right side holds a tea bag of your choice. Not everyone eats candy, so I've made several of these to hand out to those who avoid sweets.

I found this stamp in my stash and thought it was perfect for the inside. Now I need to replenish that purple ink pad 😋

I'll share the first tea bag holder with

Sharing the 3rd with

the Triple B November Challenge - birds, blooms, butterflies, use 1 or all 3

Anniversary Birds

I made this card some time ago and never posted it, so today it finally gets it's outing. I placed a circle on some cardstock, then sponged orange and yellow colors around it to create a full moon. The Birds were done with a SU! punch, adding snippets of plaid material as their "suits." I used a Memory Box woodland branch die to create something for them to sit on and added an anniversary stamped sentiment. The tiny birds were done with Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

The Triple B September Challenge - birds, blooms, butterflies (any or all)

Wishing you a wonderful day today and I hope you'll make it your best yet!
