Thanksgiving Card

I made this Thanksgiving card with 3 different colored pattern papers from a PTI paper pad I've had for quite some time. I cut 3 panels and placed them on a piece of green cardstock and criss-crossed the dark green polka dot ribbon on top. The sentiment is a very old (retired) SU! image that was cut with a matching SU! punch and the leaves were cut from snippets of brown and green cardstock using Lawn Fawn stitched leaf dies. The random colored gems were from my stash and I placed this all on a cream colored card base. Thanksgiving will be here in less than a week - this month has just flown by for me.

Fall Card

I found this Drs. Designs image in my stash waiting to be colored, so I got the Copics and markers out and colored it making the eyes darker and more fun. I added some Lawn Fawn fall papers to the mix along with snippets of assorted fall colored cardstock to make the leaves with assorted punches and Lawn Fawn dies. The Sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy stamped on another snippet of orange.
It's a very windy day here in PA and although most of the leaves have fallen off the trees, they're blowing everywhere. Fall is definitely here!

Candy Corn Halloween Cards

A thoughtful friend sent me this candy corn die and I used lots of snippets of Halloween papers and cardstock to create a few cards with it. After laying the strips of dsp down on a scrap of white, I cut the panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. Next I added the die-cut candy corn along with a stamped and punched sentiment (R from SU!) and added a green glaze sticker just for fun. I put this one on a lavender card base.

Here's a 2nd card made with different snippets and colors on a green card base.

and the last one, made with a mix of assorted snippets of designer papers  and cardstock on a black card base.

Halloween Treats

Here are some Halloween treat boxes I've been working on to hand out later this month. I've been using up my stash before buying anything new, so nearly all of these Hershey nugget boxes were made with leftover snippets of cardstock and designer papers. Some of the papers are (r) SU! while others came from Tuesday Morning stores (sadly now closed)and some I've had for years that I bought from QVC when they sold crafting supplies. The pre-printed sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp. The ghosts are cuts from an IO die set. The bats are dies and stamps from Lawn Fawn, and the tiny spider and webs are dies from Taylored Expressions. That tiny
"boo" tag on the box in the back was made with a retired SU! stamp and punch that I gave away a long time ago after making a few to keep for myself.

These treats hold packs of Walker Shortbread cookies (2 in a pack) that my local grocery store carries year round. I tied them up with some spooky black ribbon I've had for eons.

Here are a few more made with assorted papers and dies. The spider is a die from MB and the witch's hat is a die from Darice. Sentiment from SSS.

The green trick or treat sentiment was done with an older (r) SU! stamp and punch set.

I have made a few others which I'll share soon.

Christmas Pup

I decided to use my long-neglected SU! dog punch to make this card and added a little die-cut Santa hat made with some red glitter paper and a bit of white.  I found the 2 snippets of designer paper from the Jingles paper pad in my stash and die-cut them with Lil Inker stitched rectangles and added a red puffy sticker to the top. I have an ancient wooden stick stamp by Judith that I used to stamp the tiny snowflakes on the background piece that matched the designer paper, so I just added lots of them using red ink. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from Simon Says Stamp and I backed it with a piece of dark red cardstock.

I'll enter this card into the following challenges:

Sending Hugs

I had a play with my old Quickutz and a corner die along with a little flower paper punch and some pink papers and cardstock. I cut all the corners and placed them together to make little squares, and placed a glittered flower on top of each square. I used an old pearl pen (anyone remember them?) and gave each flower a pearl center along with a few others on the corners. I matted that panel with an older piece of SU! glittered cardstock and added another piece of pink dsp. behind that on a SU! Berry Burst card base. The hugs sentiment was done with a die from Pink and Main and the designer papers are from an old Tim Holtz paper pad. I wasn't sure if I liked this after it was finished but after all the work I put into it, I decided to share it anyway LOL

Halloween

I've been trying to use up the random bits from paper pads I've had for ages, and this card makes use of some Recollections dsp snippets in shades of black and grey. I used a MB Spider die and added some orange glaze pen drips to each of his legs and placed him over a heat-embossed sentiment done with a TH stamp and a GMD stitched die on a snippet of black. I gave the spider some eyes with a white glaze pen and a tiny black marker just for fun.

Encouragement

A very thoughtful and kind friend gifted me with these pretty SU! papers called "Wonderful World" and I love the summer feel of each and every one with the flowers and colors, so I used some snippets and cut them down to create this patchwork card. The big sentiment is by Pink and Main; cut from berry-colored card stock along with some pink. The word "sending" came from another stamp set and I backed it with black.

Hello Friend

Years ago I bought a huge 2" thick paper pad of all black and white designs for a couple dollars at Tuesday Mornings which has now sadly closed. The cover was missing so I don't know who made it, but in spite of sharing a lot of the papers, I have tons of it left along with a hefty bag of snippets. I used a couple of those snippets to make this card, adding another white snippet border done with a MS Doily punch. The butterfly die was an unbranded gift from a friend which I cut with snippets of white, red, and black and covered with glazed accents to hold all of those bits in place. The sentiment panel is an older die cut from Whimsy with a Gina K designs sentiment. For a little sparkle, I added some black Nuvo dots on the punched border.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

with an optional theme of summertime

Thanks for the visit, and as always, I wish you the best day ever.

July is For the Birds

I finally found time to make a couple cards and use up some pretty papers from SU! that a thoughtful friend shared with me a while ago. I used an unbranded bird die along with a snippet of kraft which was also cut with an unbranded burlap die, and placed them both on 2 stitched circles from MFT. I found the directions to make this diamond card on a brand new challenge called "Love Those Pretty Papers" which inspired me to play along. Lord knows I have more than enough paper in my stash so I knew this would be a no-brainer! 😊
The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers which unfortunately closed quite a few years ago. I added a black diamond dot to the bird's eye, along with 3 yellow ones just for fun

I will enter this card into these challenges :

Love Those Pretty Papers Challenge #1 - A/G using patterned papers

The Triple B July 2024 Challenge - Birds, Blooms, Butterflies; use 1,2, or all 3

Using the same SU! paper pad, I made a 2nd card using some different patterns along with a different sentiment. I used a dark green card base for this one and added some white candy dots for accents along with a black dot for the bird's eye. I colored the bird with Copics and added an older sentiment that has the name worn off after so many years of using it.

I'll share this card with these two challenges:

The Snippets Playground #484 - Must Use Snippets (the entire card was made with snippets)

the Allsorts Challenge Week #789 - Use Circles or A/G

Thanks for stopping by and I hope it's cool where you live. We are bracing for triple digit temperatures today with very high humidity, so I'll be staying indoors without a doubt! Keeping my fingers crossed that my old A/C unit keeps working and we soon get some much-needed rain too! 😉
