Spring Has Sprung (almost)

I recently unearthed a little pack of Penny Black stamped images I've had for a long time so I decided it was time to make cards with them. This cow image is too much fun and I added a SNSS sentiment that works perfectly for the cow springing into the air LOL I stenciled a little blue sky in and added some pale green grass with a Copic marker. I added a stamped butterfly and tiny bee image from SNSS just for fun. The sentiment panel was a snippet of watercolored paper that was leftover from a previous project and I added another flower and another little bee to it just for fun. It's all on a spring green card base. Spring is almost here where I live, but we're not quite there yet. It's just around the corner though hopefully. I'm really weary from all the rainy days we've had since the beginning of the year.

Sharing this with the following challenges:

The Double D Challenge - first signs of spring

the Penny Black Saturday March Challenge - use a PB image/sentiment - A/G
optional "Easter"

optional "Easter / Spring theme"

Thanks for taking the time to visit and I wish you all the best possible day!

Valentine's Recipe Card

Sorry for the wonky photo, I took this photo on a cloudy day and couldn't seem to get rid of the shadows. This 5x7 card began with a herringbone background that was made with strips of SU! retired designer papers. I stamped the Penny Black Valentine recipe card along with the little mug and pot as well as a Unity Alfie stamped image, coloring with Copics and a red glaze pen. I fussy cut the mug and pot and placed them on die-cut stitched circles of silver mirri card. I backed the 2 images with light grey and dark grey cardstock and added a few glittered punched hearts done with 2 SU! mini punches. The heart borders were done with a Martha Stewart punch and I added pink hearts in the negative spaces. I added some silver sparkly washi tape and embossed the top and bottom of the card base with a (r) mini hearts embossing folder from SU!. This Valentine took a while to put together but it's worth it because it's been sent to a couple who will soon be celebrating their 50th anniversary.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Cardz4Guyz #340 - Love

Try it on Tuesday - Hearts and/or Flowers

Birthday Kitty

Today I have a card made for a special little girl who has a birthday coming up next month. I used some royal blue cardstock along with a Spellbinders scalloped square die and a Lil Inker die-cut sentiment. The Penny Black image was colored with Copics, and I added some glaze pen rainbow colors to the balloon. The little banner is brand new and from a set of Sizzix thinlet dies I recently won. I had to add a touch of pink to this card since it's for a girl. The ef is by Cuttlebug and I die-cut the sentiment 3 times, stacked it, and covered it with glossy accents.

I'm sharing with these challenges:

Can You Handle the Pressure- A/G must use an EF *optional rainbows

Critter Crazy Challenge #72 - A/G but must use a critter

NBUS Challenge #48 - Never Before Used Schtuff

Love is in the Air

I found this Penny Black image hiding in my box of stamped images and knew it was perfect for making a Valentine's day card. I stenciled the  background with TE stencils and some tumbled glass ink to create the sky, then colored the image with Copics, adding Wink of Stella to the balloons for some sparkle. The sentiment is by Inky Antics and I cut the image panel and card base with Lil Inker stitched rectangles

I'll share this with...

Happy Heart Day

While digging through my stash I found this cute Penny Black stamped image and decided it was time to make a card with it. I colored it with Copics and glaze pens and added some glossy accents to the red hearts on the cup. The background hearts were done with a Heidi Swapp stencil and some Ranger Spun Sugar pink ink. The sentiment was done with a very old SU! set and layered with a panel swiped with more Spun Sugar ink. For the final touch I added 3 tiny sparkly heart stickers.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

optional theme "winter"

Optional "Something New"

I'm wishing for a little sunshine today as the past two days have been gloomy and cloudy. Wishing you all a great weekend and thanks for stopping by as always!

Thinking of You Teacups

I found some time this morning to make a card for a few challenges. The cups are dies from Penny Black's "What's in your Cup?" and I cut them all from snippets of blue, green and purple cardstock. The tea bag tag and hearts on the blue cup are from the same die set, while the circles on the purple cup are die-cuts from MFT stitched circle dies. The sentiment is from Mark's Finest Papers (now closed) and the embossing folder is from Darice.

I'd like to enter my card into the following challenges:

Warm Friendship

Hello everyone, thanks for stopping by!
Today I have a card I made by following a sketch challenge, but I failed to read the directions that specifically called for hearts or flowers. 😕
Oh well, it's a card made for winter and we are supposed to get a little snow overnight, so a warm cup of cocoa is always good on a cold night.
I started with an embossed background done with a SU! softly fallen ef. I die-cut a Spellbinders medallion from a snippet of SU!'s soft sky dsp and placed the mug on top of that. The mug, large snowflake, and marshmallows were all cut with the Penny Black "What's in your cup?" die set. The tiny white snowflake was a snippet from my stash, as well as the SNSS sentiment panel that was cut with a set of SNSS ticket punch dies. I added some white Nuvo drops on the side, but they turned out clear instead of white, so my Nuvo drops might be going bad from sitting around being unloved?

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #395 - use your snippets

Wishing you all a great week ahead and please take care of one another!

A Warm Hello

I saw this Penny Black Die set called "What's in Your Cup?" made into a card on display at my local craft store, and just had to have it. I used Pacific Point card stock and dsp from SU! to put this together, adding 2 die-cut stitched ovals from Gina Marie Designs and a retired embossing folder from SU!. The sentiment was heat embossed with white and cut into fishtail banners by using a hexagon punch to make the angles. I added a silver heart-shaped brad in the center and used a heavy hand of Wink of Stella on the steam coming from the cup.

I will share this with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for April - anything goes

It's a bit chilly here today with the wind whipping pretty good, so I might need another hot cuppa something to warm me up! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day whatever you do!

Third Birthday

I have a need for a 3rd birthday card for a child, and I used this Penny Black Piggy Love stamp because of the 3 balloons. I colored the image with Copics, adding clouds with Tumbled Glass ink. The frame was made with 2 Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies and a piece of Lawn Fawn plaid paper. The card base is Coastal Cabana by SU! The 3 was die cut with an I.O. number die and the sentiment is from a SSS stamp set.

I'll enter this into the Penny Black Saturday challenge which is "anything goes" optional love is in the air. Since those balloons are heart-shaped and this little piggy is floating in the air, I think I nailed it :)

Also entering into Seize the Birthday #182 - creatures great and small

Our Anniversary

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 51st wedding anniversary. WOW, where did all those years go so quickly? Neither of us can quite grasp the fact that we've been together for 51 years! Anyway, this is the card I made for him. I heat-embossed the PB "birches" image on some PTI Soft Stone card stock using brown ep. I added some color to the trees with Tombow markers, and hand-drew the year 1968 within the heart on the tree. I matted with some Early Espresso card stock, and heat-embossed the SNSS sentiment with white ep. For the final touch I added a couple little birds to add some color to this card. In my mind, I'm thinking I added them to indicate two love birds, but my husband hates mushy stuff, so I kept this pretty much plain LOL

I'm sharing this with the December Penny Black Saturday challenge -anything goes with an option to add sparkle and shine

Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great start to the weekend!

Happy Veteran's Day

First of all, it's Veteran's day in the US, a day set aside to honor those men and women who have served, sacrificed and continue to serve our nation and preserve our freedom. I owe a debt of thanks and gratitude to my dad (Navy); uncle (Navy), cousin (Army); father-in-law (Army); and brother-in-law (Marines) as we honor and fondly remember them all today. It also would have been my mother's 96th birthday today, so Happy Birthday Mom!

Today I have a card made with a Penny Black stamp called "birches." I stamped it with white craft ink on kraft card stock and added pink glitter to the heart on one tree. I added some pastel pink Nuvo drops randomly and added a few white gel pen highlights as well; cutting the image panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. The sentiment was die cut in both pink and white card stock with an Elizabeth Craft designs die, then layered to give a hint of a shadow to match the trees. I placed it on a pink card base and thought today would be a good day to share this card while memories of my family and loved ones are foremost in my mind today. I'm thinking of them all on this special day.

I'm going to share this with the Happy Little Stampers November "anything goes with dies" challenge.

Also sharing with the Penny Black Saturday challenge for November  - anything goes with an option of "tags"

Water Colored Birthday

Happy Saturday! I have a card to share today that was done with a Penny Black Petal Power stamp set along with some Peacock Feathers distress ink. I smeared the distress ink on a mat, then spritzed it with water and dipped the watercolor cardstock into it until I liked the saturation and then let it dry completely.  Next I randomly stamped the floral and leaf images onto the water colored card with Versamark ink, then heat embossed the images with white embossing powder. The sentiment is by SNSS and placed on a SU! Chalk Talk framelit die (r). For the final touch I added 2 strips of narrow black cardstock, and then added some aqua Nuvo drops randomly on the card for a little sparkle.

Penny Black

I've had this card made for a while and just never got around to sharing it until today. I used a Penny Black image that was colored with Copics and cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. I made the mat with a snippet of daffodil cardstock and added a black border done with a Martha Stewart doily punch. The honeycomb dsp was a snippet of dsp from my overflowing box and the teeny flowers were done with a retired SU! mini flower punch, dotted with black stickles in the centers. I left the sentiment off so I can use this for an all occasion card. I thought it was perfect for a summer card.

Thanks for checking in and I hope you have a great weekend!

Birthday Card

Today I have a card made with some old stash items that haven't seen love in a long time. I used some PTI bitty box designer paper in 2 colors along with a Penny Black floral image and a Lawn Fawn die-cut tag. I colored the flower with Copics, adding lots of clear Wink of Stella for some sparkle, then added a heat-embossed SU! sentiment done on a MFT die-cut labels die. I added a little twine bow and some black Nuvo drops and called this one done.

TMS #454

Hello and a very happy Tuesday to everyone. This week we're working on sketch #454 over at the Tuesday Morning Sketch challenge and it's an easy one too. The prize this week is a bottle of Nuvo Crystal Drops in the color of Red Berry.

I started my card with a Penny Black image and colored it with Copics. I matted it with early espresso and placed it on a powder pink panel that was embossed with a Sizzix damask ef. The matching cardbase was dotted with pale pink Nuvo crystal drops, and I added a bit of matching twine to the SU! sentiment panel just for fun. Now it's your turn, but first, you can check my DT member's creations for some great inspiration:

Spring!

Today's card has a real feel for spring with all of those bright colors and cute Penny Black image. I had some 2x2 samples of dsp given to me a long time ago and had no clue what to do with them, so I cut 1" squares and pieced them all together to make the background for this card. It includes all the colors of the inspiration board below. The Penny Black image was colored with Copics, and then I added a layer of crackle glossy accents to the little boot. The sun was done with a Lil Inker die and the orange center was done with a Poppystamps holly and berries set of dies. The ribbons were snippets from my stash and the image and aqua mats were cut with lil inker stitched rectangle dies.

Penny Black Easter Card

Today I have an Easter card that features a fun Penny Black image. I colored it with Copics, using fluorescent Copics to color the egg. I added clouds with a sponge and some Tumbled Glass Distress ink, then die-cut it with Lil Inkers stitched rectangles. I placed it on a Pool Party card base, adding a scalloped border in Island Indigo that was die-cut with a SNSS border die.

Here's what the inside looks like with the sentiment from the PB stamp set.

I'm sharing this with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge for March, which is to use bright colors.
