Coffee Time

I made this card after seeing the Freshly Made Sketch Challenge #537, but unfortunately it closed before I could get my card posted. Story of my life - a day late and a dollar short😉
Anyway, I used a cute little die by I.O to make the coffee cup, adding a tiny die cut heart in the center. The circle was die cut with a MFT stitched die and some very old retired SU! Soft Sky dsp. The sentiment is by Lil Inker (now closed) and here's the inside....

The cup and sentiment are both from the same Lil Inker set of stamps and a die, and I added some aqua Nuvo drops to the little cape.

Something happened in blogland over the weekend and I cannot leave comments on some of my followed blogs. It keeps telling me I need to sign in with Google and I'm already signed in, so I don't know what's going on. If I'm not commenting, that's why and I don't have email addresses to let you know; which is why I'm mentioning it here. All these hiccups with blogger are really trying my patience lately.........sigh.

Thanks for stopping by and have a good week ahead!

Memorial Day

Today we celebrate Memorial Day here in the US as we remember those who served our country. Some gave all in their efforts to keep us free and to all those who continue serving today, we salute you with a heartfelt thanks.

Today I have a card I made for my BIL who recently lost his wife of 55 years.
I used some snippets of leftover dsp I've been cleaning up, and this is the last of them. The sentiment panel is one I cut with my Cricut before I sold it about 7 years ago. I found it in my snippets box and finally got to use it since the colors were a good match to the papers. The sentiment is from a retired SU! set and I added 2 silver brads to finish this one.
The sentiment reflects how I feel today as I remember not only my BIL, but my dad, uncle, cousin, nephew, and FIL who all served in the military.

I'll enter this into the Snippets Playground #429.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day whatever you do.

Christmas Gnome

I have a Christmas card to share today made with some Kringle & Co designer paper, a lawn fawn die-cut tag, and a SSS Gnome die. The embossed strip was made with a SU! (R) snowflake ef, then sanded for a bit of white to show through. The sentiment was done with a (R) SU! set called Endless Wishes (2003)

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Retro Rubber Challenge #183 - A/G must use stamps older than 1 year

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful, peaceful day.

More Birthday Balloons

This card started with the red strip of "happy birthday" embossed cardstock that I found in my box of snippets. I decided while I had my Martha Stewart balloon punch out, I'd make another birthday card with balloons. I used snippets of SU! dsp in assorted primary colors, and added a Sweet 'n Sassy Birthday die-cut sentiment in blue, coloring the candle with glaze pens. The word "happy" was done with wooden stick stamps, heat embossed with white and cut into little pieces and placed on top of the twine tied to the balloons. I added some sequins, gemstones and doo-dads to make this one festive.

I'm sharing this with the Allsorts Challenge Week 667 which is anything for a birthday. They're also celebrating their 13th birthday this week too, so bring on the party!

Have a great week ahead and thanks for stopping by!

Birthday Card

I pulled out my old Martha Stewart balloon punch to make some colorful balloons from snippets and that's where this card began. I embossed a background snippet of SU! cardstock (I think it's Coastal Cabana) with a Tim Holtz woodgrain embossing folder and found matching pieces of polka dot and striped dsp to match. The stitched frame was die-cut from a snippet of wood-grain dsp. and placed on top. That cute little mouse was done with a Gerda Stein stamp, colored with Copics and fussy cut and placed inside the window. the sentiment was done with Gina Marie Designs dies and some SSS white embossed cardstock, and I tied all the balloons together with some aqua twine. I was pretty pleased with how this turned out :)

I'll enter this into these challenges:

(the Copy/Paste feature is working again with Blogger so I can easily add these graphics to my posts again)

Thanks so much for stopping by and have yourself a great weekend!

Time Flies

Today I have a birthday card that took a total of 6 hours to create. Oy! I carefully cut several strips of designer paper snippets to create a herringbone background, then die-cut it with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle before embossing it with a CB Clockworks embossing folder. I also die-cut the card base with a larger Lil Inker stitched rectangle die. The Impression Obsession clock was die-cut from several colors, meticulously adding all the negatives into their corresponding slots to create the multi-colored clock. I mounted the clock onto a die-cut black circle, then attached it to the card. I added 2 die-cut mini butterflies and placed them on either side of the clock and  added a Studio Calico stamped sentiment. The only problem is, I stepped back to take a photo of it and realized I'd glued the clock image onto the card upside down! DERRR😖 My hubby looked at it and said "just send it, nobody will notice." The only problem with that is that I noticed and couldn't let it be. So I put it down for a day and gave it some thought. I decided to die-cut another clock and glue it right over top of the original one so that the time spent on this wouldn't be a total loss! That also explains why this card took so long to put together! I added some mini red gemstones to the butterflies and sentiment to give this a little sparkle. I put the birthday sentiment inside. At my age, time truly does fly - especially when you're spending so much time making ONE card! LOL

I'll share this with the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground #428 - must use snippets

Let's Squash It #20 - let's squash those scraps!

Can You Handle the Pressure - Must use an embossing folder
A/G with an optional twist of using flowers

Allsorts Challenge Week 676 - A/G add some sparkle

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for laughing with me at my oops! moment too! Life's too short to cry over mistakes. Better to laugh and move on, but hopefully the next card won't take so long to put together! 😄

Have a great day!

Yellow Floral Birthday Card

While I had my Altenew Dahlia stencils out recently, I decided to make another card with them using the color yellow. For this background I used Distress inks of Lemonade and Mustard. The flowers were stamped on pieces that match the card base, clear heat embossed, and fussy cut. I die cut the centers from polka dot dsp and placed them on the centers. The leaves and flowers are both from a very old Hero Arts Stamp set that I've had probably 8 years or more. The sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy (from 2009) and I colored inside the letters with a matching Copic marker, and placed it all on a die-cut MFT fishtail flag banner.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Happy Mother's Day

It's a few days early, but happy Mother's day to all those moms, grandmoms and great grandmoms out there! I hope you all have a great day filled with lots of love and appreciation from your families.
I used my Altenew Dahlia stencils to make this card, using 2 different colors of distress inks - Spun Sugar and Picked Raspberry. I used a Gina Marie Designs Venetian Labels die set to cut the sentiment panel, and added some of her pretty pink gemstones to finish this card.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

SOS#469 - what a difference you've made in my life (card for Mom)

As You See it Challenge #274 - the meaning of Mama (fill in the blank)

Pink Birthday Card

I've had this Impression Obsession Geometric Background die for quite some time and haven't used it much at all, so I decided to make a birthday card for a blogging friend of mine who loves the color pink. I started with some GinaK bubblegum pink cardstock, and backed it with a piece of dsp from a DCWV black and white paper pad. I used a Darice die to cut some flowers in coordinating colors, and added a stitched tag combo for the sentiment - adding some pink twine to make a little bow.

I'll enter this into the Cards 4 Galz challenge #171 - think pink

We finally warmed up a little yesterday and I got to sit on the front porch for a while. Feeling that warm sun on my face was so relaxing!
Wishing you a beautiful day wherever you are, and thanks for stopping by!

A Trio of Blue Cards

While sorting through my monstrous stash of dsp pads recently, I found these remnants and decided to use them up. I found a sketch that I liked, and used some of the smaller snippets to put these cards together.
Before I go any further, if anyone has a fix for copying challenge graphics to our blog posts, I'd appreciate it. I can no longer copy and/or paste any graphics since a blogger update changed my ability to do that. I'm aware that some challenges require those graphics to be included in our posts, but blogger left me out in the cold!  Now I'm also having difficulty moving post write-ups to the center as that feature has become finicky too.

The first card was made with a SU! bird punch. The branch is also included with the punch. I added a Lily of the Valley sentiment to this one along with a few GMD soft blue beads for fun.

                                    I'll enter this into:

the Paper Players PP589 theme challenge of "birds or bees"

The Allsorts Challenge week #674 - A/G option of "scenic"

I made a masculine birthday card by adding an old SU! Hodge Podge hardware photo turn to the corner of this, along with some gemstones and an enamel black star sticker The sentiment is by Simon Says Stamp.

I'll enter this into the Krafty Chicks Challenge #609 - all occasions

Last but not least I made this one with a Memory Box Prim Poppy die, cutting the flowers from more tiny snippets of these blue pattern papers as well as pastel green for the stem. I added some Wink of Stella to the little bud and added a Sweet 'n Sassy stamped sentiment; then added a few aqua Nuvo drops randomly for sparkle.

This card will be going to the Dies R Us challenge #192 - A/G but must use dies sold at their store. (Memory Box used here)

It's also going to the Snippets Playground #427, since all of these cards began with using snippets of that leftover paper pad!

If you stayed with me for this longer-than-usual post - THANKS!
I wish you all a wonderful day and as always, thank you for stopping by!
