4th Birthday Card

Kids like lots of colors, so I made this card for a youngster who was turning 4. I used a PTI die and added lots of snippets of colored cardstock, along with die-cut stitched circles and punched balloons. The sentiment is a die-cut from GMD and I layered it on some lavender cardstock and fussy cut around it. The number 4 is an I.O. die cut and the "th" was done with an alphabet stamp set in white ink. I added assorted stickers to the balloons along with some colorful twine strings and a few bits of gold and silver cord tied into bows on the bottom of each balloon.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

the Alphabet Challenge "J is for Juvenile" - young person or child

Word Power #8 - make the sentiment the focus of your card

As always, thanks for stopping by and have a great Friday.

Keep Smiling 😊

Encouragement

I made this card with 3 snippets of pastel cardstock and a WeRMemory Keepers gemstone embossing folder. I placed each embossed piece on a white card base and then added a die-cut MB Arborscello tree and added a few tiny bluebirds done with an IO set of bird dies. The sentiment is by SU!

I will share this with the following challenges:

The Alphabet Challenge- E is for Embossing wet or Dry

Can You Handle the Pressure? - Use an embossing folder
with an optional twist of using fruits or vegetables

the Allsorts Challenge #783- Lots of layers or anything goes

I have no clue why I can no longer link the blog post directly on the text from each challenge, but when I try to do it as I've always done it, it adds a 2nd link, so I've had to put the links underneath the descriptions. I've had a lot of issues with my computer in the previous day and clearly it's still not all resolved.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great weekend too!

Happy Heart Day

I made this card with remnants from my stash that have been around for quite some time. The big February panel is a die-cut from a sheet of calendar months cardstock I bought at Tuesday Morning when they were still in business. I added a stamped circle on it and inserted a tiny red heart along with some red enamel dots. The heart dsp is by Lawn Fawn, the heart border punch is by Martha Stewart, and the happy heart day punched element is by SU!. The tiny bear in the corner is by SSS and the washi tapes have been in my stash forever.

I'm sharing this card with the Alphabet Challenge - X is for X-tra hearts

I hope everyone is enjoying the extra day in February this leap year. I know my sister-in-law is enjoying it. Today is her birthday and I think she's still a teenager as she only has a birthday once every 4 years 😉

Thanks for stopping by and I wish everyone the best possible day.

Autumn Cards

I used a Brutus Monroe stamp set to create these cards and used 2 different sentiments in the center of each wreath. I stamped everything with Versamark and then gold embossed before coloring with assorted markers.

Here's another version that was done on PTI soft stone cardstock for a softer color card base than plain white.

I'll enter the first card into these challenges:

Printer Misfit Halloween Card

Has anyone ever run into an issue like this? I turned my printer on to print something, and it printed 3 or 4 sheets like this until I just turned it off in frustration! I've been flipping them over, cutting them in 4ths and using them for scratch paper and then I decided to use some of the pieces to make a card. Why not? I'm pretty sure it's nothing anyone else has! LOL I have no clue how to resolve this other than buying a new printer!

So this is the card I made with these goofy papers. I stamped a Brutus Monroe spiderweb image on a snippet of gray cardstock and added an orange spider, stamped in black and covered with orange and white glaze pens. I always have strips of black cardstock on my table as I use that color often, so I just went around the square with those strips and then filled in the spaces with pieces of this oddball printed paper. I added a SSS pre-printed sentiment on a snippet of lavender cardstock and added a green candy dot.

I'm entering this one-of-a-kind Halloween card into these challenges:

The Alphabet Challenge - M is for Monochrome

OK, that's it for me on this Tuesday but I hope you're all having a great day. Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to have you visit :)

Birthday Bird

This card was made mostly with snippets of dsp along with a pre-made die-cut bird I made several years ago and never used. I found an old pack of 12x12 Black Magic cardstock which has pastel colors on one side and solid black on the other. The embossed background and die-cut circles were done with remnants of that cardstock, flipping one piece to the black side to make the scalloped circle. I used Spellbinders dies for the image panel along with a Cuttlebug decorative tiles EF to create the background. The sentiment panel the bird is resting on is a pre-printed one from Simon Says Stamp.

Sharing this with these challenges:

The Snippets Playground#457 - must use snippets

The Alphabet Challenge - F is for flying (anything)

Can You Handle the Pressure?  - A/G Embossing with * optional twist of  butterfly

Thanks so much for stopping by today and make it a great day!

A Polka Dot Birthday Card

I found a few snippets from my Sunny Studios paper pack and decided to make a birthday card with them. I had previously made the birthday sentiment panel with a SNSS sentiment and a long-retired SU! corner punch that I still like using. I die-cut the 3 little mice with a Gina Marie Designs die set and used a retired SU! punch to make the black cat. I added a pre-cut Lawn Fawn border die cut along the bottom that just happened to be lying on my table. The background paper is from an old paper pad bought at Tuesday Mornings years ago that no longer has the cover, so I don't know who makes it. The little banners were done with a set of Sizzix thinlet dies, and I added a green and blue tiny gemstone over top of each set of banners just for a little sparkle.
I have a friend who is quite fond of cats, so I'll save this for her birthday coming up in August.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

Black and White Birthday

Today I have a quick and easy card made with MFT horizontal stitched dies and some strips of black and white cardstock and designer papers. This couldn't have been easier to make, with an old SNSS stamped sentiment, and 3 stars done with 2 different SU! mini punches and a die-cut tiny star from Lawn Fawn.

Thanks for the visit and I wish you all a wonderful day!

L is for Leaves

I always make a money envelope to tip the guy who mows the lawn for us every year, and since they'll be wrapping up for the season soon, I made an envelope this year with autumn leaves on it. I made the envie with kraft cardstock and used a snippet of plaid paper along with a piece of lavender cardstock. I used a MFT stitched die, along with a TE die-cut thanks die and some Lawn Fawn stitched leaves to put this all together - using snippets  found in my overflowing stash. I think this makes the tip a little special rather than just handing over cash.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great weekend!

Leaping Deer

I have another Christmas card to share today, made with some of my favorite (r) SU! papers called "under the tree" along with a snippet of kraft paper. The background is embossed with a (r) SU! snowburst ef, and the die-cut deer is from Memory Box called leaping deer. I added a little die-cut stitched tag with some twine and used a (r) SU! set called Christmas Tag Labels from 2013 to create the sentiment. I added a little red gemstone on the deer's nose just for fun.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

The Retro Rubber Challenge #190 - Tag, you're it! (use a tag)
must use stamps more than a year old

The Alphabet Challenge  - K is for kraft

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a happy Wednesday!

Christmas Cards

I've really been dragging my feet with making cards lately and Christmas will be here before I can blink my eyes, so I got busy and made a few multiples of the same design with assorted papers and colors.

I used the SU! Festival of Trees Stamp set along with the matching tree punch. I stamped the trees on green snippets with Versamark ink, then embossed them with white ep. I added dots of assorted Stickles glitter glue for some colorful ornaments, then stamped, heat-embossed, and fussy cut the stars and pots the trees are standing in. The ovals were MFT stitched die-cuts and the papers are SU! along with other snippets I had in my stash. The sentiments are from the Festival of Trees Stamp set too.

The polka dot dsp is the flip side of the stripes in the first one and it's by SU! The green piece I've had forever but don't know the manufacturer.

Here's another variation.

I've had this SU! piece of dsp for quite some time and decided to make a non-traditional card with blues and browns. I think this might make a good masculine Christmas card. I paired it with some Early Espresso cardstock from SU!

Making multiples of one design is a good way to add to that Christmas stash, so I have a few more cards ready to go at the end of this year.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're managing to stay cool during this  heat wave! I'm hibernating indoors and keeping my fingers crossed that our aging A/C keeps working until we get through this! Sunday is supposed to be the hottest day of them all.
Stay cool!!

Father's Day

I pulled out a piece of teal colored designer paper and embossed it with a Spellbinder's Kickin' Rubber embossing folder, then sanded it for a rustic look. I stamped the boots from SU!'s Country Living (r) stamp set, then colored them with Copics and fussy cut them to place on the stitched square die. I dug into my stash to find this SU! hodgepodge hardware ribbon piece, and attached it to the side; adding a snippet of tan checked ribbon. The sentiment is from SU!'s Teeny Tiny Wishes, heat-embossed with gold, and placed on a die-cut Lil Inker stitched banner.
This card is for my husband who had a pony as a kid, and horses as an adult (many years ago) but he still has a love for horses, so I stamped this horse image on the inside...

That's a very old but favorite horse image stamp by Serendipity, stamped in Smoky Slate ink on a Soft Stone card base.

I'll enter this card into the following challenges:
