Candy Corn Halloween Cards

A thoughtful friend sent me this candy corn die and I used lots of snippets of Halloween papers and cardstock to create a few cards with it. After laying the strips of dsp down on a scrap of white, I cut the panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. Next I added the die-cut candy corn along with a stamped and punched sentiment (R from SU!) and added a green glaze sticker just for fun. I put this one on a lavender card base.

Here's a 2nd card made with different snippets and colors on a green card base.

and the last one, made with a mix of assorted snippets of designer papers  and cardstock on a black card base.

Halloween Fun

This is not your ordinary Halloween card but I think it will bring a smile or two. This hilarious looking pooch is by Unity and I colored him with fluorescent Copics to give him a Halloween "costume" with purple and green fur and a blue tongue. LOL I die-cut the image panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle and added 3 black candy dots. The twine is from Lawn Fawn, and the silver on black dotted paper is (r) from SU!

Entering too into the NBUS Challenge #67 since this is the first outing for this stamped image.

Thanks for stopping by and keep smiling😉

Halloween Treats

Here are some Halloween treat boxes I've been working on to hand out later this month. I've been using up my stash before buying anything new, so nearly all of these Hershey nugget boxes were made with leftover snippets of cardstock and designer papers. Some of the papers are (r) SU! while others came from Tuesday Morning stores (sadly now closed)and some I've had for years that I bought from QVC when they sold crafting supplies. The pre-printed sentiments are from Simon Says Stamp. The ghosts are cuts from an IO die set. The bats are dies and stamps from Lawn Fawn, and the tiny spider and webs are dies from Taylored Expressions. That tiny
"boo" tag on the box in the back was made with a retired SU! stamp and punch that I gave away a long time ago after making a few to keep for myself.

These treats hold packs of Walker Shortbread cookies (2 in a pack) that my local grocery store carries year round. I tied them up with some spooky black ribbon I've had for eons.

Here are a few more made with assorted papers and dies. The spider is a die from MB and the witch's hat is a die from Darice. Sentiment from SSS.

The green trick or treat sentiment was done with an older (r) SU! stamp and punch set.

I have made a few others which I'll share soon.

Halloween Card

It's time to start making those Halloween cards so I pulled out this Lawn Fawn die and added little snippets of Halloween designer papers along with some stamped images and die cuts. The candy corn was done with Lawn Fawn stamps and dies and colored with Copics. The ghost mouse is an image by House Mouse and I added a tiny tag done with a long retired SU! mini punch and a glittery green sticker. The raven on the branch was cut with a die from Gina Marie Designs and the pre-printed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp. The last square is just a bit of designer paper that fit perfectly into the last square.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great September day whatever you're doing.

I spotted a sign earlier this week that said "Be the "FUN" in dysfunctional.
Good advice 😁

Halloween

I've been trying to use up the random bits from paper pads I've had for ages, and this card makes use of some Recollections dsp snippets in shades of black and grey. I used a MB Spider die and added some orange glaze pen drips to each of his legs and placed him over a heat-embossed sentiment done with a TH stamp and a GMD stitched die on a snippet of black. I gave the spider some eyes with a white glaze pen and a tiny black marker just for fun.

Halloween Treats

I thought I'd share some of the Halloween Treats I've been working on  recently. These are the tiny gift boxes from Lawn Fawn done with the Halloween add-ons and lots and lots of snippets. Some of the bats have wings, some are holding candy corn and some are sporting colorful bow ties. They each hold a Lindor truffle candy for a yummy treat. Click the photo to enlarge for details

Here are a couple of simple treat boxes I made from white and orange snippets that I shaped into a little bag/box to hold some small treats.  The sentiment is from Lawn Fawn, while the tops were done with a retired SU! tab punch and a retired SU! stamped image.

Before assembling, I stamped the sides with Lawn Fawn and SU! images and colored them with glaze markers. I could make these little boxes all day every day, I just love putting them together.

This is a small sampling of what I've been working on but I'll share more in an upcoming post soon.

Sharing these with the Snippets Playground #465 - must use snippets

Wishing you all a wonderful Tuesday and thanks so much for stopping by.

Trick or Treat

I've made several Halloween cards using this candy corn die a friend gifted me with several years ago so I'll share one today.  It's time to use up the Halloween papers I've been hanging onto for so long, so I cut the smaller pieces into strips and made a herringbone background for this card. The trick or treat stamped image was done with a SU! Tags 4 You set (2013-2014) on orange cardstock and cut with the coordinating punch. I added a green gel sticker just for a fun accent.

The same friend who gifted me with the candy corn die, also gifted me with an envelope of fun die cuts so I added 2 of them here on the inside. I added some fluorescent Copic colors to the cauldron and added a SSS pre-printed sentiment along with another snippet of retired SU! Halloween paper.

I'll share this card with the following challenges:

Shopping Our Stash Challenge #507 - Franken-Card / Halloween

Craft Rocket Challenges #108 - Autumn and/or Halloween

Retro Rubber Challenge #217 - A/G using stamps older than 1 year

That's going to do it for me today so thanks as always for stopping by and have a great day whatever you do.

I'm keeping the world in prayer for peace.

Printer Misfit Halloween Card

Has anyone ever run into an issue like this? I turned my printer on to print something, and it printed 3 or 4 sheets like this until I just turned it off in frustration! I've been flipping them over, cutting them in 4ths and using them for scratch paper and then I decided to use some of the pieces to make a card. Why not? I'm pretty sure it's nothing anyone else has! LOL I have no clue how to resolve this other than buying a new printer!

So this is the card I made with these goofy papers. I stamped a Brutus Monroe spiderweb image on a snippet of gray cardstock and added an orange spider, stamped in black and covered with orange and white glaze pens. I always have strips of black cardstock on my table as I use that color often, so I just went around the square with those strips and then filled in the spaces with pieces of this oddball printed paper. I added a SSS pre-printed sentiment on a snippet of lavender cardstock and added a green candy dot.

I'm entering this one-of-a-kind Halloween card into these challenges:

OK, that's it for me on this Tuesday but I hope you're all having a great day. Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to have you visit :)

A Snarky Halloween Card

While at a friend's house some time ago, she showed me this hilarious stamp and matching sentiment that she found at a craft show, and I had to make several copies to bring home because I couldn't stop giggling LOL
I colored this witch with fluorescent Copics and die cut it with a MFT stitched circle die. I used a retired SU! black doily underneath it and added the sentiment along with some random black Nuvo drops and placed it on a SSS Orange Peel cardstock base. It certainly makes a statement for Halloween doesn't it? LOL

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

I spotted this on a sign on the way home yesterday and since my card is snarky, I figured I'd add this to the post for an extra giggle. I don't know who comes up with this stuff, but I'm grateful for the chuckles LOL

Halloween for Kids

I was playing around with some snippets of PTI Bitty Box Basics paper I've had for years and cut them into strips and adhered them to a snippet of cardstock; then cut it down to make a vertical panel. I have a couple wee ones to make Halloween cards for and I don't like to make them too scary, so I pulled out this SU! image (2002) and colored it and made a little framed photo of it by using a retired SU! corner punch with a snippet of black cardstock. I stenciled a portion of the card base with colors to match the vertical panel and added some Lawn Fawn candy corn, along with some SSS pre-printed sentiments placed on snippets of purple and black cardstock. I added a green enamel sticker just for fun.

Sharing this with the Snippets Playground #462 as well as the

Peek-A-Boo Halloween

This is the first outing for this Lawn Fawn Peek-A-Boo die I received for my birthday.  I had fun creating with it and made this card for my friend's young grandson (and will make another for his older brother soon). I used an assortment of stamps and a punch for the words on each window, adding a couple stickers to add some sparkle. Open the windows and here's what's inside...

The images and sentiment are from MFT and I added an old die-cut bat and a trick or treat sentiment I found in my snippets box. I hope this will amuse a 3 year old with all the opening windows - at least for a minute or two :)

I'll share this with these challenges:

Happy Haunting

I went from a spring card to a St. Patrick's day card and rushed all the way through to a Halloween card today! 😉 I'm just all over the place!

Anyway, I made this card for the Two Old Bats Halloween challenge for March. I used Tim Holtz crazy cats and accessories stamps and fussy cut them after coloring with Copics. I added 2 die-cut little mice from Gina K Designs and double cut the borders with Sweet 'n Sassy dies, swapping the negatives for a fun look. I found the sentiment already printed in my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your weekend is a great one!

It's Been a While

Life has thrown some curves my way recently which kept me from my crafting table, but I did find some time to make Halloween treats. Today I have a sampling of some of them, using assorted snippets of cardstock, ribbons, papers, stamps, punches, dies and embellishments. These are KitKat bars enclosed in little treat holders ready for hand-outs to bank tellers, supermarket cashiers and people we interact with on a regular basis. We no longer have kids visiting for treats, but I found that adult workers appreciate these as much as the kiddies do, so I keep making them every year.
If anyone wants to know anything I used to make these, just leave a comment or email me and I'll do my best to fill you in on the details.
More treats to come a bit later too.

Entering these into the following challenges:

If you're still with me, thanks so much. I hate that it's taken me so long between posts, but priorities change and my attention has been focused elsewhere for a while. Thanks for the visit and take good care!

Two Old Bats September Challenge

I've been asked to guest design for the Two Old Bats Halloween September Anything Goes challenge so here goes!

I had a little fun with one of my gnome dies, adding some fangs for giggles, bat wings from a Lawn Fawn bitty box die set, and a bow tie. I used my fluorescent Copics to color the die-cut I.O ghosts, witch's hat brim and bow tie. The spooky tree is a die cut from SSS,  and the corner spider web and spider were made with dies from T.E. The bat is from Lawn Fawn with some glaze pen eyes and the little mice are die cuts from GMD. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from SSS and the dsp is SU! (retired). The inside says "You're my BOO, Happy Halloween."

Here's the inspirational photo for this month's challenge

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you'll find time to play along as Halloween is now just around the corner!

Take care and have a fabulous day!

Get You Witchy On

Halloween is going to be here before we can blink an eye, so I'm working on that stash early. For this card, I broke out my Tim Holtz crazy cats and accessories stamps. I used Copics to color the cat and fluorescent Copics to color the pumpkin, witches hat, and mat for the SSS pre-printed sentiment. I clear-embossed the hat to give it some shine and fussy cut it before placing it on the cat's head. Glossy accents were used on the cat's eyes just for a little pop! I added 3 jelly stickers in purple, orange and green for a fun accent and used a piece of SU! Halloween dsp (r) for the background.

Thanks for checking in today and may your week ahead be peaceful.

Halloween Spiders

Recently I discovered this very old Martha Stewart spider punch I'd forgotten I had! (too much schtuff obviously 😏) I had a few small snippets of black cardstock on my table, so I punched a few spiders and that's how this card began.
I used an older piece of neutral dsp and tore it into strips, using some brown chalk and a Q-tip to color the edges. I still have a bag of those big googlie eyes so I decided to use them along with the spiders. I took another snippet of black, placing the eyes first, then wrapping all those strips around them to look like a mummy/monster, then I die-cut the piece with a stitched tag die. I added a couple snippets of orange and black dsp for the background, and colored the spider's eyes with green, yellow, and orange glaze pens. The sentiment is a pre-printed one from SSS.

And here's the inside with a spider and another pre-printed sentiment.

I'll enter my card into these challenges:

Thanks for stopping by today and taking time to leave a comment. I do appreciate them very much, but I'm getting slower in responding unfortunately. Life is just throwing a lot of obstacles in my way lately and time has been getting away from me!
Have a fantastic weekend and take care!

Happy Haunting

I made another Halloween card recently using some snippets from my stash. I found this old houndstooth dsp and thought it was a good choice for what I had in mind. I had a few remnants of dark orange cardstock left that I wanted to use up, so I used a MFT notched border die and used another piece for the SSS pre-printed sentiment panel. The larger border was made with a STAMPlorations broken glass stencil, using black ink on a snippet of
lemon-lime cardstock and layered on top of the orange border. The MB spider was cut from a bit of black and I added 2 little white eyes done with a paper punch and added 2 yellow gemstones.

I'm sharing this with...

Halloween in May

Mother's Day has just come and gone and already I'm making a Halloween card. What?! LOL
In case you aren't aware, there's a new challenge this year called
Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge and for the month of May it's an "anything goes" challenge with the following mood board to inspire you...

I used a piece of black & white dotted paper for the background, stamping assorted "Boos" and bats with stamp sticks by Judith. The skeleton is a stencil from SSS and I stamped through it with Versafine ink, then embossed it with white ep on a piece of purple cardstock. I matted the image panel with 2 more panels of lemon lime and orange, die-cutting them all with a Venetian Label die set from GMD. I added 3 die-cut "BOO!" sentiments from Lil Inker and added some sticker "gemstones", glaze pen accents and black Nuvo dots.

Here's what the inside looks like with 3 die-cuts from the SU! Chalk Talk dies, and a heat-embossed stamped sentiment from Lil Inker. The skull and crossbones came from a punch-out border that were included with a kit of Halloween papers I've had for eons.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a good day where you live. It's a picture-perfect day here in PA - the kind I've been looking forward to enjoying :)

Twick or Tweet!

I love making Halloween cards and made another one from a few snippets found in my stash. The stenciled panel was done with a Tim Holtz shattered stencil a looooong time ago, and got thrown into the unfinished box. It looks like it was sponged with distress inks of red, orange and brown, but I'm not certain. the black raven was done with a GMD die, and I dotted it's eye with a white gel pen. The orange panel was embossed with a spiderweb ef and the jack 'o lantern border was done with an old EK punch. The image panel was done with a long-retired SU! stamp called "twick or tweet" and I colored the skeleton with fluorescent Copics, and colored the background with another fluorescent Copic marker; then die-cut it with a MFT stitched square die. After I colored the background of the image panel, I colored a strip of white cardstock with the same Copic marker and put it behind the punched pumpkin border. I added a tiny spider die-cut with a TE die and added a pre-printed SSS sentiment with a little sticker on the end.

I'm sharing this with these challenges:

Since everyone is wearing masks these days, making Halloween cards all year long seems like a logical idea to me! 😊 Gotta roll with the flow, right? I will probably box them up and send them to Cards for Hospitalized Kids later this year (IF they're still accepting them) since I have no little ones to send them to anymore.

Take good care and keep your sense of humor while you have a fantastic day!
