St. Patrick's Day Card

I rummaged through my large assortment of embossing folders and found this Spellbinders M-Bossabilities that I haven't used in ages. It's called "Letterpress" and I thought it would make a good background for some shamrocks to make a St. Patrick's day card. I used Taylored Expressions dies with 3 different colors of green cardstock to make the shamrocks, and then used a paper punch with some gold mirror card to make the centers. The inside looks like this:

I will share my card with these challenges:

with an optional twist of squares and/or circles.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you the best possible day today.

St. Patrick's Day Gnome

I wanted to make a St. Patrick's day card with a gnome, but I had to improvise as this cute Inkadinkado stamp has nothing to do with St. Patrick's day at all. As a matter of fact, he's holding a big flower and has a little bumble bee on his hat to represent spring. I cut 3 shamrocks with Taylored Expression dies from gold, dark green and grass green and turned the flower into a "bouquet" of shamrocks! I added a little sparkly green sticker to the center, and added a shamrock sticker to cover the bee on his hat. The clouds were done with T.E. stencils and Tumbled Glass ink, and I added die-cut clouds and a rainbow (done with Lil Inker dies) that I've had in my snippets box for quite some time. The grassy border was done with a SNSS grass die and the horizontal border was also in my snippet box conveniently done in a green color. I die-cut the gold and pastel green bits from scraps and a SSS hexagon border die, and carefully glued them into 2 of the rows pf the border. I heat-embossed the SU! sentiment in gold on another snippet of green and matted it with white. The tiny butterfly was also heat-embossed with gold and colored green and was made to cover up a big boo-boo! Lesson learned - do NOT squeeze your Wink of Stella glitter pen on top of an almost finished card! It left a big glob of silvery goo on the clouds, so I just covered it up with a green and gold butterfly. I colored the gnome with Copics and a gold glitter pen and after much work, I finally called this one done! LOL

I got this card in the mail earlier this morning, so hopefully it will be received in time for the St. Patrick's day festivities.

Here are the challenges I'm entering this card into...

The Allsorts Challenge #719 - A/G *option a trio of something (3 shamrocks)

the March Stencil Fun Challenge - Must Use a Stencil *Option CAS

May your blessings outnumber the shamrocks that grow,
and may trouble avoid you wherever you go!

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a happy Monday!

Shamrock Treat Boxes

I have friends coming by later today so I made a few of these St. Patrick's day treat boxes that hold a Lindor truffle candy inside. I used a Lawn Fawn tiny gift box die set to create the boxes; then used the matching stitched circle die with some gold mirror card to make the golden "coins." I have a lot of shamrock stickers I've collected through the years, so I put a large one in the center of the coin, and placed a smaller sticker on each of the other sides of the box. I've always loved making little treats to hand out to others and I managed to use most of those stickers at the same time.

I'll share with these challenges:

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day everyone!
Here's a little card I made to mark this special day that has a rainbow, white clouds and a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow.
I started by stenciling some clouds with Taylored Expressions cloud stencils and some Tumbled Glass distress ink. The rainbow and clouds were made with Lil Inker dies from snippets, and the stitched clouds were covered with Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. The pot was made with a SU! ornament punch (r) and I added some golden coins with a tiny circle die; adding a TE die-cut shamrock on the front along with some some sparkly gemstones too. The sentiment  was done with a very old Crealies text tag die, adding a SU! (R- 2009) teeny tiny wishes stamp along with a couple stickers I had in my stash.

I'll enter this into....

the Retro Rubber Challenge #178 - A/G must use stamps older than a year

Thanks for stopping by and as you celebrate this St. Patrick's day, keep this in mind...

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

 Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I sent this card to a friend who already received it, so I decided to share it on this day of wearing the green. The little gnome die was a gift from a friend, and the little puppy is a MB die. I gave the pup a little green scarf too! The background was a digital image I printed for the card and the sentiment is from SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes (2009-10) I found the pre-cut sentiment panel in my box of snippets and put a shamrock sticker on it just for fun.

I'll share this with the Retro Rubber challenge #154 - anything goes

Wishing everyone good luck and many blessings today!
I'm part Irish - my stubborn side is proof of that! 💚

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

A Bit More Green

My last post was a crazy cat wearing the green for St. Patrick's day, and today I'm sharing one of the Tim Holtz crazy dogs wearing green too. The top hat is also from a Tim Holtz stamp set. I stamped it on a snippet of green card stock and colored the band with a gold marker before heat embossing with clear ep and fussy cutting. I placed a die-cut glittered gold shamrock right where the dog seems to be focusing his attention LOL I used a green glitter pen to color his color; Copics to color the dog, and used a SU! sentiment cut into 3 pieces and matted with black. I found a piece of plaid designer paper from a Christmas paper pad, but I thought the colors were a fun match to the green card base.

Thanks for stopping by and do have yourself a fine day!

Wearing the Green

It's almost St. Patrick's day and I made this card for a friend who loves cats. I used the Tim Holtz Crazy Cat image along with the little derby from the additions stamp set to all the crazy critters series. I stamped the derby on a snippet of green, colored the band with a yellow glaze pen and after it dried, I heat embossed it with clear ep and fussy cut it. The shamrock was made with a T.E. shamrock set of dies and a snippet of gold mirror card. I colored the image with Copics and used a green glitter pen for his eyes. The sentiment is from SU! Teeny Tiny Wishes (r). The image panel, and background snippet of dark green dsp were both cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies.

I'm going to share this with

Thanks for stopping by and take good care!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

It's the day to wear green and everyone can be Irish today!
This card was made with a pre-colored digital print by Diane's Daydream Designs, and I added a greeting on the vase with a SU! teeny tiny wishes sentiment as well as another tiny sentiment "for you" on the card. The embossing was done with an older Spellbinders M-Bossability folder and I used dark and light green cardstock of course.

Have a happy and safe St. Patrick's day everyone and may you all have good luck on this Irish day of celebration!

Time for an Irish Jig

Happy St. Patrick's day to all my Irish and non-Irish friends! It's the perfect day to do a little jig while you're wearing the green!

I used a Crafty Moments free digital image that was already colored, and I knew it would make a perfect card for today! Those dancing pigs cracked me up, so I computer generated the sentiment just for fun. Will Smith released a silly rap song with those words a long time ago, and as soon as I saw the image, that song popped into my head. I paired the image with some green and navy cardstock, embossing the navy panel with a plaid ef, of course! The ribbon was from my stash and I added a few gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty.

I'll enter this card into the Cards in Envy anything goes challenge, as well as the Sisterhood of Snarky Stampers challenge #3 - P is for Paddy.

Thanks for stopping by and have a very happy St. Patrick's Day!

Lost & Found

This really is my lucky day, because I won a recent House Mouse challenge and they've invited me to guest design for March and April!

The challenge for the HMFMC#165 is "Lost & Found." This lucky little mouse found a four-leaf clover! With St. Patrick's day arriving later this week, I used all green colors and a left-over piece of dsp that has shamrocks all over it. I colored the image with Copics, added some Geo Sparkler stickers and some PTI ribbon. The sentiment was computer generated.

Please be sure to click the links above to see what the other DT members have created for this fun challenge. You'll be glad you did!

Thanks for stopping by, and may this be YOUR lucky day today too!

Shades of Green and One for Mother

Here's my card for the Cards in Envy challenge which is "think green." The cards for this challenge must be an A2 size, and fit flatly into an envelope. I used the OWH sketch #214 since it makes such great use of all those snippets I have lying around. I just sorted through my stash, pulling out assorted green dsp and cut them into random-sized strips, adding some black and pear pizzazz card stock. I punched a black star, and then assembled a "shamrock" made out of SU! owl punch stars, and added a Geo Sparkler sticker to the center. The embossing was done with a CB ef and the sentiment is by SU!

The OWH midweek throwdown is to make Mother's day cards. This card has already been sent it in to meet the OWH deadline, so now I'll post & share it for this challenge. I used all SU! dsp and cardstock, along with a Spellbinders die, SU! punched flowers and a candy dot. The embossing was done with the SU! petals a-plenty ef, and the "lacy" border is actually a border sticker I picked up at a dollar store a long time ago. The sentiment is from SU!

Have a fantastic Thursday and thanks so much for stopping by!

Happy St Patrick's Day!

Top o' the Mornin' to ya! Happy St. Patrick's Day too! It's a day for everyone to be a little Irish, so wear the green and celebrate the day!
I made this little matchbox as a little token gift to give to Denise when we met for breakfast recently, and although I had it safely tucked inside my purse, I completely forgot to give it to her!! DUH!!! I found it the next morning when I opened my purse for something and couldn't believe my lapse of memory! Oh well, I had good intentions Denise, you'll just have to trust me on that one :)
Here's what the inside looks like {pardon the blurry photo}, and it holds one Ghirardelli single candy. I love making these matchboxes because it usually brings a smile to someone's face when they receive one. This was done with PTI cardstock and a scrap of dsp. The shamrock stamped on the inside is from a very old retired SU! set and the bottlecap mat was done with my Quickutz. The scalloped circle on the front was done with another SU! set and punched with the SU! scalloped circle punch. The charm came from my friend Heidi, and to pass along a shamrock charm to someone else feels like passing along some good luck to me. {If only I could remember to pass it on} I added a tiny bow done with shamrock ribbon for the finishing touch, and there you have it!
Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone - whether you're Irish or not! Enjoy the day and love all the green :)

Top O' the Mornin' To You

Happy St. Patricks Day! I had to make something appropriate for this Irish holiday, so I pulled out my favorite house mouse surrounded in shamrocks! You don't have to be Irish to enjoy this day, so wear something green and have fun! I'll leave you with the traditional Irish Blessing:
May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
May the rains fall soft upon your fields,
And, until we meet again,
May God hold you in the hollow of His hand.
