Stars & Stamps MWT - DOGS!

The challenge over at the Stars & Stamps midweek throwdown is to make a card with a K-9 theme! Sandy (the president of OWH) has a couple free digis today, so check it out and make a card with a dog theme for OWH. Kids love dogs, so I'll have to print out several of Sandy's cute images and make cards for kids for my next OWH box.
Sandy also offered this free digi (along with the sentiment) a while ago, along with the sentiment. I've had this card in a file for a while now, and never posted it, but it's perfect for today's challenge. I colored the image with markers, and rounded off 2 corners I just used some scraps of red, white & blue and embossed the background with a Tim Holtz texture fades damask ef. Ribbon is from SU!
I hope you're having a great Wednesday, and thanks for stopping by to say "hi!"!

C4CC18 Anything Goes

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for another Crazy4Cocoa challenge and this week's theme is "Anything Goes!" A friend of mine loves Cocoa as much as I do, and she asked me to make her a birthday card using this Cocoa image inside of a heart. I decided to use the card I made for her for today's challenge. I printed the digi image on cryogen paper and colored it with Copics. I used some scraps of Cosmo Cricket dp and blue cardstock, embossing the larger heart with a texture fades woodgrain ef. The ric-rac was done with the EK chain zig-zag punch, and the sentiment was punched with a word window and fancy label punch. I added some red and silver heart brads to finish off this fun birthday card.
I hope you'll find time to join us this week for another Crazy4Cocoa challenge. All you need is your Cocoa images and some ink!
Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a great day!

C&S Butterflies

I made this quick & easy C&S card for my next OWH box and love how it turned out! I'll be making a whole lot more of this design for sure! I used the Sweet'nSassy polka dot silhouettes stamps for this one, stamping the image in 3 colors and matching a piece of scrap cardstock for the mat. I don't know if you can see it, but I scored the panel with 3 different-sized lines on the top & bottom of the butterflies for a little interest. I used a fine marker and drew in the antennae and added a favorite sentiment from MFP. The border was done with a SU! fancy scallops border punch, and the butterflies were stamped with 3 different Memento inks - Bahama Blue, Tangelo, and Bamboo Leaves.
Well, today is tax day for me.....aack! I dread having to go through these yearly routine tasks like gathering receipts, organizing, adding, checking, double and triple checking, and all that fun stuff! I keep my fingers crossed that we don't have to pay in every year, but it's time to face it head on and git 'er done! Wish me luck!
Have a great day everyone, and thanks for stopping by!

Happy Birthday Sandy!

The head honcho/president/fearless leader of OWH - the one and only Sandy Allnock - is celebrating her birthday today!! Happy Birthday Sandy!!! I hope it's one of your best yet!
To help celebrate the occasion, the Stars and Stamps blog is having a special edition sketch challenge this week by giving us 3 sketches along with some free Frantoonie digis created only for OWH card use. The card above uses sketch #62, while the one below is one of the 2 bonus sketches. I won't have time for the 3rd one today, but maybe later on this week I'll be able to catch up.
The image was printed and colored with Copics, and I used some PTI berry sorbet cardstock and ribbon along with some SU dp.
This is another of Fran's digi's, and this one was done in all PTI plum pudding cardstock and DP. You know all of us purple-lovin' girls gotta get our purple fix every week :) I stamped the white polka dots in the background using white craft ink and the SU polka dot background stamp. This one is very basic which will make for easy mailing. It's nice and flat which means I can stuff more cards in my next box for OWH.

That will do it for me for this Sunday, but Sandy, I wish you a great birthday, in spite of that big clunky cast you're wearing these days!
Take care and enjoy the rest of your weekend!

The Sweet Stop SSS101

I made time to play along with the Sweet Stop Sketch challenge #101 which is pictured above.
I made an Easter card using a pre-colored digi image (part of a prize that I won recently from the Paper Shelter) that is just too much fun! I used some pre-glittered cardstock from a mat pack, along with some light aqua from a different stack. The DP is Jubilee from Memory Box. I pierced the edges and corners of the main image panel, and added some ribbon and a bow. The sentiment panel was a free download from Sans Design and I used my Quickutz to cut the bottle cap shape, and added a punched flower with some stickles. I also added stickles to the scallops on the punched border. The embossed background was done with a sizzix ef.
I hope you're enjoying your Sunday, and thanks for dropping by.

Ahhh, Retirement Time!

I had a friend ask me to make her a retirement card for one of her co-workers which really stumped me for a while, because I don't have any retirement stamps or sentiments! Eventually I thought of my original Just-Rite stamper and pulled it out to create the circular panel. For this one, I let the beautiful Memory Box Gossamer papers do all the work for me. I added some SU! retired chocolate satin ribbon, and dotted the scalloped circle with a brown marker to help it stand out from the pale pink papers. I added a pink flower and a pink & brown padded brad that perfectly matched everything, and this card was done! I computer generated a sentiment for the inside, but forgot to take a picture of it before it was delivered.
Have a wonderful Friday and thanks for stopping by!

A Fun Bunny for Easter

I made another Easter card with this adorable free digi from Spyder's Corner. The sentiment is also a free digi from Sans Design. She has several of these cute Easter digi sentiments up for grabs, so click on the link to find them. I used purple and turquoise for the main colors, and added stickles and glossy accents on the image just to add some sparkle.
If you've never visited Spyder's Corner yet, you're missing some real fun! She posts a freebie every Wednesday, and posts 2 versions of her freebie where you have to spot the differences to win your choice of a digi from her store! I'm slow in finding them, but I really have fun trying!
Last night in PA we had thunderstorms and hail that covered the ground white! This morning we awoke to find the ground covered white again........this time with snow! This is spring?!! LOL
I hope you're having great weather wherever you are today!
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Cards for Kids and a sketch challenge

I have a few cards today for the Stars and Stamps challenges. The first 2 cards are for today's MWT challenge to make cards for kids. These cards will be sent to our military serving overseas, so that they can send them back home to their children for those special holidays. The card above is a Dustin Pike digi that I colored and layered in shades of plum and purple. I took the picture at an angle so you could see the glossy accents I added to the balloons.
This card was done with an adorable bunny image that Sandy created and offered for free on her blog recently. I used some flowers, papers, ribbon, and a tag from my stash to create this one.
And finally, this is the sketch #61 from the S&S blog. For this I used SU! navy and white dp, along with a blossom die-cut flower and a SU square lattice ef. The tiny flowers were done with the MS hydrangea small flower punch. The sentiment is by SU and the button brad was from my stash.
As always, thanks for stopping by and I wish you a great Wednesday!

C4CC17 PolkaDots Challenge!

Happy Tuesday everyone! The month of March has just flown by for me, but here we are with another Crazy4Cocoa challenge. This week, our challenge is to use polka dots. For my card I used the Sweet'nSassy Cocoa's Latte digi image, printing and coloring with Copics. I used all PTI dp and some sheer polka dot ribbon. If you click the photo to enlarge it, you'll see I used some Geo sparklers on the coffee cup and sentiment panel just for fun.
I hope you can find time to play along with us this week, so grab your Cocoa images and polka dots and just have fun! Sweet'nSassy Stamps just released some great new images, so go check it out - you might even find another CUTE Cocoa image you can't live without :)
Thanks for stopping by and have a great spring Tuesday!

Celebrate Spring !

Hello and welcome to another Stamps R Us challenge! This week our sponsor is Tiffany Doodles and the challenge is a "think spring" theme. Flowers always come to mind when I think of spring, so I've chosen the beautiful Daphne flower w/ oval image for my card.
I printed this beautiful flower w/oval on cryogen paper and colored it with Copics, then added some microbeads to the center with glossy accents. I added Hero Arts pearls to the outside of the beaded ovals diecut and wove some PTI plum pudding polka dot ribbon through the openings between the ovals. The background was embossed with the Tim Holtz texture fades damask embossing folder.
I liked this image so much I decided to create a 2nd card. For this one I used the single Daphne flower image and layered it using the labels ten die cut with PTI plum pudding. It also has the purple microbeads in the center, and some silver beads on the top & bottom. I attached the greeting with an eyelet, and tied some silver cording around the card and through the eyelet. The sentiment is from Inkadinkado and the background was embossed with a Tim Holtz texture fades brick wall ef. For both cards I used the following Copics: V06, V12, V15, V17, B04, G07, YG06.
We are now into the spring season (at last) so grab your spring-themed images, stamp a card, and come play along with us! We'll be around to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Another Two-fer Card

I had time today for a quick card that meets 2 challenges! That doesn't happen too often, but I love when it does! This is for the Stampin B's #102 challenge to make a thank-you card and use spring colors including the color pink. check, check. It's also for Joan's Garden's #10 challenge which is to make a card using the following elements :

1. Use the colors pink & green
2. Create a thank-you card
3. Use some kind of stripes
4. Use something scalloped

check, check, check, and check! I used a Greeting Farm image called Savannah and colored it with Copics. I sponged it with blush ink while it was still in the die. I layered it with a Green Galore Spellbinders scalloped circle and added glossy accents to the feather in her hair, and the green parts of her dress. The pale pink striped paper was a scrap from my stash. That didn't photograph very welll, but there are zig-zag stripes going up & down. The green gingham background dp is by MM. The sentiment is from MFP stamped in Versafine Onyx Black.
That will do it for me today. It was a gorgeous, warm day here which I love! The only problem is those pesky stink bugs came out in full force today as well. AAACK!!! I hate those nasty bugs that dive bomb the house every time you open the door!! They seem to multiply year after year during their invasion process. Oy!! Take care and enjoy your weekend. Spring's just a couple days away! Yippee!!!

Carol

Oh Baby!

I won this stamp in a giveaway at StampersDream.com recently and couldn't wait to use it. It's by La-La Land crafts and oh so cute! I colored this with Copics and added some BG dp and soft gray cardstock. The ribbon was gifted to me by Heidi, and I used an EK zig-zag chain punch to create the ric-rac which I layered on top of the ribbon with some 1/4" Scor-tape. The sentiment was computer generated and inserted into the bow with another tiny piece of Scor-tape. I lightly sponged the image with Blush Blossom ink while it was still in the die.
It's going to be a wonderful day here in PA with highs around 75, so I hope to get out and about for a while to enjoy it! Have a wonderful Friday and thanks for stopping by!

Stars & Stamps MWT & Happy St Patrick's Day!

The Stars & Stamps mid-week throwdown this week is to use scallops. Paula generously donated a free digi for you to use to make cards for OWH, so go check it out and play along! I know you all have scallops of some sort!
For my card I used a Sweet 'n Sassy Cocoa digi image, printing and coloring with Copics. The DP is all by Basic Grey. I created the vertical scalloped panel by punching with the SU scalloped border on both sides of a strip of DP and adding mini star brads. Sentiment is by Inkadinkado and I used the word window and fancy label punches to frame it. The camera didn't pick it up, but I used glossy accents all over the frosting and filling on the cake :)
Thanks for stopping by and I wish everyone a happy St. Patrick's day! I can't believe I didn't remember to make a green card for today so I'm posting this in green! It's shameful I know.........
I know.

Crazy4Cocoa#16 Think Spring!

I can't believe it's Tuesday already, but here I am with another Crazy4Cocoa challenge card! This week our theme is "think spring" and I don't think there's anyone out there in blogland that isn't ready for spring! I know I am!
I used the Sweet'nSassy Gardening Cookie digi image because spring always makes me think of planting gardens and getting outdoors. I think Cocoa left a wee bit early for spring break, so Cookie mouse is filling in. Isn't she cute with that little bow in her hair?
I hope you'll grab your Cocoa/Cookie stamps and play along with us this week! There is a prize for playing along this month too - you can win 3 free digis of your choice! We look forward to seeing your inspiring creations!!
Take good care and have a wonderful Tuesday! Thanks so much for taking the time to stop in and say "hello spring!"

OWH Sketch Challenge #60

This is the Stars & Stamps sketch for the challenge #60 found here.
For this card I pulled out a long-retired set from SU! called "year round fun" that a dear friend gave me! {thanks Heidi - big huggers}I love these tiny images and they're fun to color too! I stamped the images on cryogen paper with memento black ink and colored them with copics. One thing I learned is that this type of paper is NOT easy to pierce! It's very dense and difficult to poke holes in which is why I only pierced the outside edges of the squares! LOL I used a scrap of dp for the vertical panel, using the SU scalloped border punch along the bottom and dotting the scallops with a white sharpie marker. The sentiment was stamped with versafine onyx black ink and the stamp has no name on it so I don't know who made it. The cardstock and ribbon are both pacific point from SU!
I hope you're enjoying your Sunday wherever you are! Take care, and I'll see you soon :)

Spring Butterfly

I made this card for Joan's Garden's challenge #9 found here. Here's the recipe for this week's challenge:

1. Use the colors orange and blue
2. Create a card with a spring theme
3. Use a die cut
4. Use a circle

I think I met all the requirements here. I used all dp from a K&Co Que Sera Sera paper pack. The 2 larger butterflies were cut with a Sizzix die, and the smallest one was done with a MS butterfly punch. I added Kaiser gemstones to the embossed top portion of the card, the smaller butterfly, and the sentiment - which was computer generated. The butterfly was embossed with a Texture Fades damask ef & a Sizzix ef, while the top portion of the card was done with another Sixxiz ef. The trim was from my stash.
That's it for me, I'm off to bed soon! Have a good one :)

Think Spring!

Good Morning everyone - I hope you're enjoying your weekend and having nice weather where you are! I made a card today for the "Think Spring" Customer blog hop that also fits this Sweet'nSassy sketch challenge #99 found here.
And here is the card I created......
I used the Berry Sweet Cocoa digi image from Sweet 'n Sassy Stamps, and colored him with Copics. All the dp is from the Memory Box sugar collection (thanks Michelle). A requirement for the blog hop is to use only SnS stamps and sentiments, and since I didn't have a particular sentiment that fit this image, I created one by masking off 2 stamps from the SnS Cup of Cocoa set! Strawberries are always so sweet in early spring, and these colors remind me of spring. The mini ric-rac was from my stash, and the decorative border was done with a fancy scallop punch. The mat behind the sentiment is a bottlecap diecut from Quikutz. Gems were also from my stash.
Thanks for stopping by today - I wish you a wonderful weekend of stamping and blog hoppin'! Take good care!

I Woof You!

My card is for the StampinB's challenge #101 which is to add bling to our cards. For mine I added 3 acrylic flower gemstones to the ribbon on the side. The image is a colored digi from Sweet'nSassy, and the dp is from a SU! paper stack. Ribbon is also by SU! I added a touch of Glossy Accents to the bone on the sentiment panel and matted it with Soft Suede.
I hope you're having a great day wherever you are. It's raining in PA and there are flood warnings in a lot of areas. It's a given that I'll be indoors stamping today! Take care!

Catching up with OWH challenges

My card is for the Stars & Stamps midweek throwdown, and this week the theme is "Going Dotty." That means use polka dots, DP with dots, embossing with dots, or anything that includes some sort of dots. I made this card for OWH in primary colors, so that some youngster will enjoy it when a loved one sends it home to them. The kite images are from a new Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set called polka dot silhouettes. I used the SU! slit punch to create the "tails" on the kites, snipping a little piece from the centers. I used 2 Cuttlebug embossing folders for this - seeing spots and swiss dots. The sentiment is by Mark's Finest Papers. The card was made from scraps in my stash. Do you think this card qualifies for having enough dots?!?! LOL
This card is for Sunday's Stars & Stamps sketch challenge #59 found here. I flipped the sketch and added a panel on the right side that was done with an EK punch, along with some knotted gingham ribbon. The image is Love You Bethany Bunny by Sweet'nSassy stamps and it's colored with Copics and matted with scraps of embossed lavender and green. The DP is by DCWV that I've had forever!
Ok, I think I'm caught up for now!
Thanks so much for stopping by today - it's always nice to have company. Have a fabulous Wednesday!

Missing You

I made this card for the Joan's Gardens weekly challenge and this week it's really a big one!! This week's challenge #8 is being sponsored by JustRite stamps and they are giving away some amazing prizes! Check here for all the details and click on "weekly card challenge" at the top.
For my card I used a JustRite Missing You stamp along with 2 outer borders. The sentiment and rings were embossed with Ranger gold ep. The shadow hides the pretty border on the kraft scalloped circle, but if you click the picture you can probably see the detail a bit better. Those strips were white cardstock that I embossed with gold and placed on either side of the black. DP is by BG, & the ric-rac border was done with an EK chain zig-zag punch. Those are faux brads on the sides that I made with a hole punch and some glossy accents. I used the Cuttlebug swiss dots ef and dotted the ric-rac and scallops with a fine black marker. I was trying to make a masculine card for my next OWH box, so I kept this one simple and plain.
Thanks so much for having a look, and I wish everyone a wonderful week ahead!

Crazy4Cocoa Challenge #15

It's Tuesday, and that means it's time for another Crazy4Cocoa challenge. This week the challenge is to use pastel colors on your card or project. I chose this Sweet 'n Sassy "Get Well Cocoa" image for my card and paired it with some MM dp from the Enchanted collection along with some bashful blue cardstock. The image was printed and colored with Copics and I used Nestabilities for the image and sentiment panels. The sentiment is from a SU! set done with versafine onyx black ink. I added some baby blue liquid pearls to the image and sentiment panel for a little interest.
I hope you'll grab your Cocoa images and come join us this week! I'll be looking to see what you create with pastel colors!
Thanks for stopping by and have a terrific Tuesday!

SSS98_Sending my Love

Here is the Sweet Stop sketch #98 for this week from Sweet'nSassy stamps.

And this is the card I made for the challenge. I used this adorable Penny Black image for my card this week - thanks to a sweet friend who was kind enough to share her stamps with me :) I stamped him with memento ink on cryogen paper and colored him with Copics. I used BG two scoops dp for this along with some black and a scrap of turquoise cardstock. I embossed the turquoise panel with the plaid folder and sanded it a little bit. I also used the SU square lattice folder for the background. Those are faux brads on the left, covered with glossy accents, and I also added a dab of that to the bear's nose. The flowers, brads and ribbon were from my stash. The sentiment was computer generated and layered using the word window and small oval punches from SU!
Thanks for poppin' in to say "hey" and I wish you a wonderful day!

In the Kitchen with Bugaboo

Happy Monday to everyone! It's time for a new challenge over at the Stamps R Us blog, and this week the theme is "In the Kitchen." Bugagoo stamps is our sponsor and I'm using a Bugaboo digi image called "Pizza Arrives." Isn't this a hoot? I love these amusing characters and the funny sentiments that go along with them! This was printed and colored with Copics, and I used a ticket punch for the sentiment. The pizza ingredients along the side were computer generated.
I hope you'll grab your kitchen-themed stamps and join us for this fun challenge! Thanks for stopping by, and I'll be anxious to see what you create!

Carol

Saturday Stamping Fun!

As you can see from this group shot, we had a big stamping get together at L&L Rubber Stamps store in Ephrata PA yesterday. What a fun day we all had!! This was our 2nd gathering, and it's grown considerably since the last one! I was so happy to meet some new stampers and get re-acquainted with those I've met before. This is the best therapy for the cabin fever I've been feeling after such a long, cold winter!
This is LeAnne Pugliese and Cathy Mac. If you click on each name, you'll be taken to their blog or gallery. I just LOVE the smiles on their faces! If you want to see some adorable baby photos, just browse through LeAnne's blog and you'll find some priceless Cassidy expressions :) I've been following LeAnne's blog for a while and I just love what she can do with her stamps and cardstock! I've learned so much from her and I still learn every day! This was the first time I've met Cathy, but she's been commenting on my cards at SCS for quite some time and I didn't even realize who she was! I'm glad I got to meet you Cathy, and I look forward to seeing you again soon!
This is Mary Anne and her daughter Dee. I've visited Mary Anne's blog ever since I discovered it, and I was so happy to finally get to meet her in person. Her gorgeous daughter Dee is getting married later this year, and I know this is an exciting time for both Mom and daughter. Mary Anne has done a lot of DT work with various teams, and currently has a blog hop post for Joan's Gardens! You go girl! You create some amazing and beautiful cards and I love your style!
This is Pattie Goldman, Julie Smith, and Janice Melton from left to right. These talented stampers are so much fun to stamp with, and always so helpful with answering questions for those of us who are just learning. It was great to see you ladies again and watch you stamping and coloring those beautiful images! I was amazed to see how quickly and efficiently these ladies stamped off images, colored them, and made cards with them. I was busy running my mouth and chatting with everyone yesterday and only made one card for myself - but I could just sit and watch these ladies in action and be completely satisfied doing that!
Here are the "Purple Paper Crafters" !! LOL Denise gave us a name and I'm not sure if I got it right, but you get the idea. Four of us all showed up in purple! Denise and I both love the color purple and even our sneakers had purple accents, but Denise outdid all of us by showing up with a big, beautiful lavender carry-all that held all her stamping goodies! Denise, you win the purple prize package hands down ;)
That's Korin on the left (the owner of Sweet'nSassy Stamps), Denise, myself, and Pattie. I just had to make our links purple *snort*
Blogger is only allowing me to post 5 pictures at a time, so scroll down to the next post for more photos :)

More Photos

Here is my friend Jill who lives just a shout away from me. She didn't smile in any photos from our last stamp fest, but this time I caught a bit of a nice smile in this picture! Jill and I have stamped together at my home & hers a few times already, and we both love to visit L&L just to shop. You must visit Jill's blog to see some of her unique and beautiful cards! She loves to do iris folding and 3-D cards and has a style unlike any other!
This is Cherie, a long-time friend of Jill's that I got to know through Jill. Cherie has a unique talent for perfectly fussy-cutting images with a cutting stylus, and I always tease her about cutting out my images for me! Cherie hasn't started a blog yet, but she does have a new gallery on SCS that you'll find if you click her name above. Notice that little bit of green behind her? That's Jen, who just happened to walk behind her while I took this photo, but she did a great job of disguising herself at just the right moment didn't she? :)
Here are 2 ladies I got to meet for the first time yesterday. That's Mary on the left and Jen on the right. You'll see a portion of Jen's head and back in the shot above (grin). I was thrilled to meet you both and get to know a little about you! If you click on their names, you'll be taken to their blogs where you can see some wonderful creations! Mary has been doing the Crazy4Cocoa challenges with us, and I didn't put it all together until I met her yesterday and figured out who she was! Jen told me I've also been commenting on her cards, but I didn't put it all together until we talked! I'm slow, what can I say :)
That's Kathy on the left and Denise on the right. Kathy has been to my house to stamp before and she does cards for OWH too. Kathy hasn't been posting lately, but she's alive and well and assures us she's still making cards! Denise must have lost her chair, or else she opted for a baby stool, because she's barely able to reach the table in this picture! LOL The tell-tale smiles in this picture are evidence of the fun everyone had! I just LOVE moments like this!
And last, but certainly not least, is Korin Sutherland - the owner of Sweet'nSassy Stamps.
Korin and Denise pretty much put this whole thing together, so bravo to you ladies for giving us the opportunity to get together and stamp to our heart's content! Korin taught us all a few good tips about coloring with Copics, and most of us were gathered around her to watch and learn. I don't know about everyone else, but I was like a sponge, trying to remember it all.
On a final note, I want to thank each and every one of you ladies for coming and to tell you how much fun I had getting to know you, exchange ideas, and stamp with you! I look forward to more of these get-togethers in the future and hopefully we can all meet more stampers the next time!
Have a wonderful Sunday and thanks for stopping by!

Easter Blessings

I made this card in honor of the QFTD#50 which is Kim....otherwise known as Luv Flowers on SCS. I drew inspiration from this card in her gallery and created this Easter Blessings card. The Easter Cross image is a free one I d/l from Sandy's blog to create cards for OWH - which is for our service personnel serving overseas. I colored the image with Copics and matted it with a beaded ovals diecut and added some dark purple stickles to the stamens. All the cardstock is from the Prismatics Azalea collection......and I used light, medium, and dark shades for this, sponging the oval centers with a sponge dauber. The ribbon is the last piece of white pure silk ribbon I bought quite some time ago from Sharon Johnson's store and I thought it was perfect for an Easter card. I absolutely LOVE this ribbon and it makes gorgeous bows, but I didn't have enough left to create one. The background was embossed using the Swiss Dots ef and the sentiment is by Inkadinkado.
I wish you all a wonderful weekend, and I'll be back again soon! Take care in the meantime!

A Camaro for Joe

I made this card for my best friend's DH who fully restored their 68 Camaro last year. The color of the car is actually gold, but since I couldn't alter the solid color of this digi stamp, I added gold accents to the card. The image was printed and then heat embossed with clear ep. The polka dot DP qualifies this for today's WT312 challenge....which is to use polka dots. I hope Joe likes this one :)
Have a great Thursday and thanks for stopping by!

Mid-Week Throwdown

The mid-week throwdown over at the Stars & Stamps blog is to create a mother's day card. I know I'm really going out on a limb with this card, but I d/l this free digi image a while ago and I always felt it would make the perfect mother's day card! LOL If you're a mom, you KNOW you've dealt with situations like this, so I thought a card like this would bring a smile to a mom who knows what motherhood is really all about! Hah!
I wish I knew who created this image and if any of you know, please leave a comment and I'll edit the post to give proper credit. I used a piece of DP from my stash and some pink cardstock. The sentiment was created with 2 different masked stamps to create the words I wanted. I added a snippet of turquoise ribbon and a couple of pink gemstones to complete this card.
Thanks for stopping by today and I hope you all are having a great Wednesday!

Crazy4Cocoa Challenge #14

Happy Tuesday everyone! It's time for another Crazy4Cocoa challenge and this week we're using ric-rac on our cards. For my card I chose Cocoa's Latte digi image from Sweet'nSassy Stamps and printed it on Cryogen Irridescent paper and colored it with Copics. I added 2 strips of mini ric-rac to the cup and added some Holly stickles for interest. The DP is all from Basic Grey's Kioshi collection, and I used the following 3 punches - MS arch lattice, SU scalloped, and EK chain zig-zag. I did the sentiment panel using nesties and stamped a sentiment with an Inkadinkado stamper. I added a tiny flower gemstone to the sentiment panel and added another drop of green stickles to the center.
I hope you'll grab your Cocoa images and come play along with us this week. Those who play along all month will have their name put in for a nice prize at the end of the month! I can't wait to see what you create with your Cocoa and ric-rac!
Have a super Tuesday everyone, and thanks for stopping by!
