Uplifting

I used an older Inky Antics image for this card along with some Mark's Finest Papers Stamps (Now closed) for the trees. I added some soft pink hearts done with a Heidi Swapp stencil along with some die-cut clouds from Lawn Fawn. For the final touch I added some liquid applique to his little tail. I love how this card gives the feeling of love being in the air.

Adding this to the August Stencil Fun Challenge which has an optional theme of "Summertime"

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Happy Haunting

I made another Halloween card recently using some snippets from my stash. I found this old houndstooth dsp and thought it was a good choice for what I had in mind. I had a few remnants of dark orange cardstock left that I wanted to use up, so I used a MFT notched border die and used another piece for the SSS pre-printed sentiment panel. The larger border was made with a STAMPlorations broken glass stencil, using black ink on a snippet of
lemon-lime cardstock and layered on top of the orange border. The MB spider was cut from a bit of black and I added 2 little white eyes done with a paper punch and added 2 yellow gemstones.

I'm sharing this with...

Masculine Birthday

I made this birthday card for a dear friend of ours who celebrates his birthday in May. I started with an Island Blue Card base, adding some stenciling with a GMD weave stencil and white craft ink. The clock is by Impression Obsession, die cut in pale grey and black. I also cut a larger black circle with a MFT stitched circle die for the mat. I die-cut the clock hands with a snippet of gold glitter paper, adding some tiny circle bits randomly on the card for a little extra sparkle. The sentiment is pre-printed from SSS and matted with black.

I'm sharing this with these challenges:

Dies R Us Challenge #168- A/G using dies sold in their store (the I.O. clock)

Seize the Birthday #213 - A/G optional "furry friends"

Thanks so much for stopping by and I wish you all a fantastic weekend!

Twick or Tweet!

I love making Halloween cards and made another one from a few snippets found in my stash. The stenciled panel was done with a Tim Holtz shattered stencil a looooong time ago, and got thrown into the unfinished box. It looks like it was sponged with distress inks of red, orange and brown, but I'm not certain. the black raven was done with a GMD die, and I dotted it's eye with a white gel pen. The orange panel was embossed with a spiderweb ef and the jack 'o lantern border was done with an old EK punch. The image panel was done with a long-retired SU! stamp called "twick or tweet" and I colored the skeleton with fluorescent Copics, and colored the background with another fluorescent Copic marker; then die-cut it with a MFT stitched square die. After I colored the background of the image panel, I colored a strip of white cardstock with the same Copic marker and put it behind the punched pumpkin border. I added a tiny spider die-cut with a TE die and added a pre-printed SSS sentiment with a little sticker on the end.

I'm sharing this with these challenges:

Since everyone is wearing masks these days, making Halloween cards all year long seems like a logical idea to me! 😊 Gotta roll with the flow, right? I will probably box them up and send them to Cards for Hospitalized Kids later this year (IF they're still accepting them) since I have no little ones to send them to anymore.

Take good care and keep your sense of humor while you have a fantastic day!

Easter Bunny

I recently won a prize from STAMPlorations and chose this Broken Glass stencil for my prize. I thought it would make a pretty Easter card so that's what I made. I used distress inks and small brushes to color it. I used  Tempting Turquoise cardstock to make the card base and mat, and used some MFT stitched oval dies to make the focal point. I stamped the (r) SU! bunny image with Memento ink and colored it in with a light tan marker. I used some pink for the eye and ears and used a chocolate marker for the nose. The grass was made with a Sweet'n Sassy die and I added a little bow that was recycled from another card.

I'm going to enter this into the challenges listed below:

NBUS #24 - the stencil is brand new
Craft Rocket Challenge #79 - use dies and/or spring
Just Us Girls Challenge #574 - word week "animals"
STAMPlorations March Stencil challenge - a/g and must use a stencil

Flying By

I'm sharing a Halloween card today just to switch things up a bit.
I used a Taylored Expressions set of stencils to create the sky with some Wilted Violet DI, then added a die-cut bat (I think by Darice) along with some smaller bats done with stick stamps from Judith. I dug into my doo-dad container and found 2 small orange hexagon negatives and used them for eyes, adding black drawn-in circles and then some white glaze pen dots in the centers. I added a white fence done with a MS punch, then embossed the Gorgeous Grape panel with a SU! spider web ef and added a SSS pre-printed sentiment. I scribbled a snippet of white cardstock with a Neon FY1 Copic marker, then die-cut it with an IO ghost die, backing it with black for the eyes and mouth.

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Two Old Bats Halloween Challenge for March - a/g with this inspiration

Addicted to Stamps and More #400 - use die cuts and/or stencils

Dies R Us Challenge #164 - a/g using dies from Dies R Us store
(I used the Impression Obsession ghost die)

Thanks so much for the visit and for taking the time to leave a comment! Have yourself a fun and fantastic Friday!

Cards with Flowers

I made a couple of cards with flowers cut with SU! Bouquet Bunch framelit dies. The flowers were already pre-cut and in my snippet box, along with assorted stems, leaves and greens so I decided it was time to put them all to use.

First up is a birthday card. I used 3 of the die-cut flowers and added a die-cut stem and leaf, attaching it all to a die-cut stitched oval, and placing it on a plum colored piece of cardstock. The sentiment is from a Simon Says Stamp set, heat-embossed on black with white ep and trimmed into flag tails with a hexagon punch. I added some Nuvo Crystal drops to the flower centers for a little sparkle

Next up is a card with a sentiment from a brand new Gina K designs stamp set that I bought some time ago and never used. I created the clouds in the sky with Taylored Expressions stencils and some Tumbled Glass distress ink. The flower centers were dotted with Black Nuvo drops and I stamped some birds, a dragonfly, and a butterfly with Versafine Onyx black ink. The sentiment was heat-embossed on black with white ep.

Both cards are for the Twofer Challenge #4 - flowers

I'm also sharing the 2nd card with

Also sharing with the NBUS Challenge #22 - (sentiment)

Thanks so much for stopping by and I hope your week is off to a good start!

Stenciled Background

I bought this this MFT equalizer stencil quite a while ago and in spite of loving it, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I held the stencil over a piece of black card stock and sponged it with white craft ink, but it looked almost lame when finished! LOL I decided that the white diamonds needed some color, so I got out my colored pencils and colored each row a different color over top of the white, which gave a crayon finished look. When I finished coloring it, I still wasn't thrilled with it, so I cast it into my snippets box to rest for a few months! LOL
I've had this unbranded truck die (a gift from a thoughtful friend) and once I die-cut that in a turquoise color, it seemed to look OK with the stenciled background, so I paired the two together and made a masculine birthday card with it. The SSS sentiment was heat-embossed on turquoise and matted with pool party which was also used for the card base. I kept it simple, because guys just seem to like the basics.

I'll share this with the following challenges:

NBUS Challenge #13 - never before used schtuff - stencil
