A Girly Dress of Snippets

Today I have a card with a real "girly" theme for the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday "Special lady" challenge. I used a SU! framelit die for the dress and made the skirt portion entirely of snippets. I used pieces of blue and lavender snippets, embossed them with a Swiss Dots ef, and then punched flowers with a MS hydrangea punch. I pressed them onto the lower portion of the dress with a dot of glue, shaping them first with an embossing stylus into a piece of foam, and dotted the center of each flower with liquid pearls. I finished the dress by adding a piece of ribbon around the waist. I layered it on Spellbinder petite ovals & scalloped ovals and embossed the background with a TH damask ef. I'm thinking of sending this to my granddaughter for an Easter card, since she loves to dress up in frilly dresses.

I'm entering this into the Snippets Playground #166 - must use snippets

I'm also entering this into the ScrapyLand #13 - which is "anything goes" using any brand of die that ScrapyLand sells. I'm using Spellbinders petite ovals/scalloped ovals.

Thanks for stopping by, and as always, I wish you a wonderful day!

Bright and Beautiful

Here's a card I made for "cards for kids" that I'm entering into a few challenges. I used a SU! owl punch along with a Spellbinders Lotus die, and got busy using lots of snippets. The sentiment is from Deedee's Digis and seemed to work perfectly for this little owl trying to show off like a peacock.

I'm sharing this at the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - all things bright and beautiful

ScrapyLand #11 - anything goes (I used a Spellbinder Lotus die)

Snippets Playground #162 - must use snippets

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a perfect day!

Sweet Love

Today I'm sharing a card made with a Printworks stamped image. It's a wooden stamp borrowed from Mary Anne (thanks M.A.) and I think it makes the cutest Valentines or in this case - a simple love card.

I colored the image with Copics, adding 2 little heart shapes, a heart-embossed background done with a Sizzix hearts ef, and a simple sentiment of "love" done with a Lawn Fawn stamp. The image panel was done on SB squares and scalloped squares. The photo doesn't show it well, but I added some clear Wink of Stella to the wings on this sweet image.

I'm entering this into the OWH sketch challenge #246

Also, the Scrapy Land #9 challenge - which is anything goes using any die they sell. I used the Spellbinders squares and scalloped squares.

Thanks for stopping by and have a safe and healthy Monday! It's icy here in PA, so I'll be spending this day indoors for sure!

My Hubby's Christmas Card

I know Christmas is over, but I wanted to share the card I made for my husband this Christmas. I made an outdoor winter scene with a lot of snow. I started by stamping some evergreen trees with a stamp from Flourishes, doing one stamped off, and a darker one right over the that, and finally a really dark one right over both of them. I added some bare trees with a Memory Box Tall Forest Tree die, and then some die cut deer using the Memory Box deer trio. I put them behind a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border die and added a SU! sentiment. The final touch was adding some snow with liquid applique. He really liked his card!

Today he shocked me when he woke up and wished me a happy anniversary! For the first time in 46 years he remembered it was our anniversary!! lol It usually goes by with little fanfare because it falls right in between two big holidays, but he's starting this day off on a real happy note :)

I'm taking this card over to the ScrapyLand challenge #8 which is "Holidays" using any dies ScrapyLand sells in their store." I used 2 MB dies and a LawnFawn die.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

White on White

In sharp contrast to the bright red card I posted yesterday, I'm sharing a white on white card that uses 2 die-cut images from Memory Box; the leaping deer and the winterland tree. The lower portion of the card was done with a Lawn Fawn stitched hillside border, while the sentiment is from SU! I added a red nose with a dab of red smooch, and a tiny eye with a black marker to the deer, and added some Geo sparkler stickers to the tree in assorted colors to add some sparkle.

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - use this photo for winter inspiration....

the Scrapy Land challenge #8 - holiday theme using any die ScrapyLand sells
(I used the two memory box dies listed above)

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful day!

Rudolph's Nose

I have a fun card I made for one of my DGD's that includes Rudolph with his shiny red nose. I used the SU! owl punch for Rudolph's head. I added some googlie eyes, antlers (made with a Quickutz Chick die) and a 1/2" circle punch covered with glossy accents and popped up on foam tape for his nose.  I added a snippet of striped dsp to the SU! chalktalk framelit tag and tied on some red ribbon and peppermint twine. The card base, dsp and red panels were done with Lil Inker stitched rectangles and I added a fun sentiment done with an old wooden stamp I've had for years............I think I found it in a Michael's dollar bin way back when.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Christmas / Holidays

ScrapyLand Challenge #7 - anything goes using a brand of die that Scrapy Land sells ( I used a Quickutz chick die for Rudolph's antlers)

Snippets Playground #154 - must use snippets

Thanks for dropping by again today, and I wish you a wonderful Wednesday!

Christmas Greetings

Today I'm sharing a card I made with a Sizzix die from the Tim Holtz Alterations collection called "Holly Branch." I used snippets of green cardstock, sponged with chocolate chip and curled around a pencil, and popped them up on foam tape to keep their shape. The branch was cut from a snippet of brown, and the berries were also snippets of red, glittered and covered with Glossy Accents to seal in the glitter. The sentiment is from Northwoods and I colored the holly in with Tombow markers. The card base color is Soft Stone.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge -  Christmas/Holiday theme

Scrapy Land #7 - anything goes using a die they sell in their store (Sizzix Holly Branch die)

Snippets Playground #153 - use snippets

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful day!!

Ornamental Icy Christmas Cards

Today I'm sharing two Christmas cards I made for the November 2014 Rudolph Day challenge - which is always to create two Christmas cards. I'm using pre-colored images from Deedee's digis Ornamental Icy set. This card base is SU! pool party and I accented it with a metallic green pine needle border die cut from Memory Box, as well as a matching punched star with a little diamond Geo Sparkler sticker in the center. I added some pool party ribbon and a silver-embossed sentiment from SU! The ornament was hand cut after printing and popped up on foam tape for a little dimension. I added a little bow with some silver cording for the finishing touch.

This card has an Island Indigo base, and I accented with silver metallic cardstock and ribbon. I used a Memory Box Frostyville border, adding punched stars and lastly added a Quickutz die cut sentiment. The star ornament was also fussy cut and popped up on foam tape.

I'm also entering these cards into the ScrapyLand #6 challenge which is to add texture and use any die they sell in their store. I'm using two different Memory Box Dies.

Also, Deedee's digis is having an exciting 50% off customer appreciation sale going on right now until December 1st! It's store wide and includes every single stamp set she sells!!! You don't need a coupon or a special code.......just shop 'til you drop at reduced prices for a limited time. You're going to love her sets, many of which even include matching papers!

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a wonderful day!

Christmas Tag

Here's a tag I made for Christmas from leftover snippets of SU! dsp and cardstock. The deer is from the Memory Box Deer trio die, and I added a little color to the antlers and hooves with Copics. The "tree" was done with vanilla cardstock and a Martha Stewart fern punch. I added a punched border done with a Martha Stewart Skylands Snowflake punch in vanilla, and added a narrow strip of chocolate chip cardstock to the lower edge. The sentiment is from SU! and the round opening at the top was done with SU! punches. The tag itself was cut from an old manila file folder that I no longer needed. The burlap and vanilla twine are from my stash.

I'm entering this tag into the following challenges:

Snippets Playground #151 - use any snippets
Tuesday Throwdown #222 - Christmas tags
ScrapyLand #6 - use any die that ScrapyLand sells and add texture
(Memory Box Deer Trio, and the added texture is the tree)

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day ahead.

Grandma's Attic

Here's a feminine card I made using the GinaK Stately Flowers 6 stamp set. I stamped this beautiful rose image on vanilla cardstock, and colored it with Copics to match the GinaK wild orchid cardstock. I die cut it with a SB Nestabilities Beaded Ovals, lightly coloring the beads with a Copic marker before removing from the die. I wove some vanilla twine around the frame, and added a paper doily behind the image. The borders were done with an EK Flower Burst lg edger punch. I decided to leave this card without a sentiment until I need to use it, because this would make a nice mother's day, Easter, or birthday card too!

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Mod Squad - Grandma's Attic - use a doily

ScrapyLand #5 - Use any die ScrapyLand Sells (Spellbinders Nestabilities                                    Beaded oval)

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you the best day ever!

You're Totally Witchin'

I have another card for the Scrapy Land #4 challenge - which is "Halloween." You need to use one of the die brands they sell in their store, so for this card I've used some Impression Obsession ghosts, along with a Spellbinders Shapeabilities Grommet tag for the sentiment. The image called "witch shoes" is by Stampendous and it was colored with Copics. The sentiment was a free digi "Witch Brawd" from Stampalicious. The papers were a gift from my sweet friend Mary Anne, and I added a little piercing around the edges just for fun. The lime green twill is a little bobbin spool I've had forever.

Halloween is just about here, so I hope all of you are ready for a fun night of trick or treating :) Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Haunting

Today I have another Halloween card to share. I cut the tag with my Cricut, and added some I.O. die-cut ghosts, along with some stamped bats done with 2 Judith stamps in white and Brilliance inks. I added some wink of stella glitter to a few bats, and tied some lavender ribbon to the top, after edging the tag with white. The smoky slate background was embossed with a SU! ef and sponged with black ink, and the apple green card base was from my stash. The ribbon is retired SU!, and the sentiment was computer generated. The finishing touch was a stamped cat from MFP.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

Simon Says Stamp - Color Coordinates - Black, Slate, Orange Peel, Green Apple,                                                            Lavender.

Scrapy Land #4 - Use a die sold in their store (Impression Obsession) with a                               Halloween theme.

Tuesday Throwdown #218 - Photo-inspired Halloween colors.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Fright Night

I have a card for the Scrapy Land challenge #4 which is a Halloween theme, using any brand of die they sell from their store. I'm using the Impression Obsession ghost dies here, along with a SU! Fright Night stamp. I made a water-colored background to look a little bloody, and added a dark red MS goo punched border with some glitter accents. The strip of dsp was from my stash of snippets, and I embossed it with a SU! spider web ef, adding some definition with a black marker on the embossed areas. The spiders were done with a MS punch, and I added some white and black eyes to them, and all of the bats were done with 2 stick stamps by Judith. The ghosts were colored with a fluorescent Copic marker and I used black for the eyes and mouths.

I'm also entering this into the Snippets Playground #146 and I hope it doesn't scare the heebie-jeebies out of sweet Parsnip!

Thanks for the visit, and I hope you're having a great day!

Pink Christmas

I know pink isn't a traditional Christmas color, but I made this card for the Jingle Belles Pink Christmas card challenge in honor of breast cancer awareness month. The ornaments were done with SU! stamps and punches and embossed with silver ep. I know the color cast makes the larger ornament appear pink, but it's silver! I added some pink gems from Pizzazz Aplenty to each ornament and also to the MB frostyville border. The ornaments were "hung" with silver stickers and it's all tied up with some SU! silver metallic ribbon. The dsp was cut randomly into "rays" and adhered to a white base.

I'm also entering this into the ScrapyLand #3 "anything goes" challenge with the Memory Box die cut border.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a wonderful day!

Christmas Joy

There's a brand new challenge called "Anything Goes with a Twist" and it's being sponsored by Deedee's digis this week. Since there was no twist for this challenge, I made a Christmas card. I used a pre-colored digi image from Deedee's Ornamental Icy set, fussy cutting and popping the ornament up on foam tape on some Island Indigo card stock. The Memory Box pine needle border was done with silver metallic card stock, and so was the Quickutz "Joy!" sentiment. The final touch was adding some silver metallic ribbon to the top.

I'm also entering this into the ScrapyLand #3 challenge which is "anything goes using a brand of die that they sell." My card was made with Memory Box and Quickutz dies.

Thanks for stopping by, and make it a great day!

Hollyhocks Birthday

Here's my card for the ScrapyLand challenge #2 which is to use heat embossing on your die cut elements. You also must use a die sold in the ScrapyLand store, so I'm using the Impression Obsession Hollyhocks die. I cut some stems from white, lavender and mauve cardstock, and embossed each stem with clear detail ep. I added a few die cut stems with a little bow at the bottom. The butterflies were done with a Punch-a-bunch, and the sentiment is from Lily of the Valley. The papers are from the Violet Crush paper pad by KaiserCraft.

Here's a close-up that shows the embossed detail.

Wishing you a wonderful Monday as fall arrives later this evening! If autumn is as nice as the summer we've had, we're in for a real treat!

Thanks for stopping by! It's always nice to see you :)

Diamonds, Diamonds, Diamonds

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I'm playing along with the brand new challenge #1 at Scrapy Land, and it's "anything goes" using dies that are sold in their store. I'm using the Crafty Cutts Diamonds #1 & 2 for this card. I love using up those random snippets of card stock or dsp and cutting diamonds for cards. I used a card base of crumb cake for this one, stamping an Art Impressions Chihuahua image and coloring with Copics. I added a sentiment from MFP, and randomly placed the diamonds just for fun. I decided to make a 2nd card....

This one is a white card base, and I added the Art Impressions Dachshund image to this one. I make cards like this for cards for hospitalized kids, and the embellishments are restricted due to choking hazards, so I added some negative die-cut card stock bits instead of sequins or gemstones. I used primary colors because the kiddos seem to enjoy those more.

I'm also sharing these cards over at the Snippets Playground #140. I'm sure Parsnip will enjoy these furry friends to play with :)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!
