QFTD116 for Taylor

I stayed up into the wee hours last night to finish this card for the SCS QFTD116 challenge for stagccva/Taylor. I poured through her gallery until I came to this card, and immediately knew I wanted to "CASE" it. I switched the colors to kraft, black, white & red, and changed the sentiment, as well as leaving one flower off the front. I put the 4th flower inside, because I just couldn't make 4 flowers look good together like she did on her card!  I used a sentiment from the SNSS Your Friendship set, and the flowers and polka dots are from the SNSS Polka Dot Silhouettes set. I stamped with Versafine Onyx Black ink and embossed with white ep on kraft card stock. Red gemstones and real red ribbon from SU! were added to finish this card. Have a great week Taylor - and enjoy your week as the reigning queen :)

I'm also entering this card into the CAS-ual Fridays CFC56 challenge to use polka dots.

Have a great Friday and thanks for stopping by!

A Sweet Tooth and a Christmas Poinsettia

I made this card for the Simon Says Stamp challenge to create something with the theme "sweet tooth." I used this pre-colored digi image (I'm unsure of the availability) and paired her with some dsp from Echo Park. That stack of cupcakes looks mighty sweet to me! LOL I added some hot pink ribbon from my stash, along with a SNSS birthday sentiment and a few yellow and blue pearls to finish this birthday card.

I made this card for this week's QFTD112 challenge which honors Wanda/cullenwr. I designed my card around this card I found in her gallery. I used the SB layered poinsettia die and real red card stock, sponging with chocolate chip ink and adding a pearl button. The leaves were done with PTI new leaf green. The tag was made using the Cricut, stamping the Contempo Christmas sentiment with versamark and embossing with gold ep. I embossed the background using a Sizzix Snow Globe ef, and added a touch of gold cording to finish this one. Another Christmas card added to my stash - I love that I'm getting ahead so early this year with Christmas cards!

Here's wishing you all a wonderful weekend! I have lots of errands to run today and the sun is out, so I'm anxious to get outdoors for a while! Thanks for stopping by!

Shopping our Stash #50

The challenge over at Shopping Our Stash #50 is to create a Mother's Day card, or anything "girly." Since I finished all my Mother's day cards already, I went with a girly thank-you card using the Heartfelt Creations Lilac image. This is another image I stamped at a stamp meet over a year ago and I'm just now getting around to using it. I colored this with Copics, adding some pearl dots with a Viva pearl pen. I matted with royal purple cardstock, adding some lavender ribbon and tiny tags stamped with an Inkadinkado stamper. The background was embossed with a Petals A'Plenty ef from SU!
I'm so glad I started playing along with SOS challenges, because now I'm actually USING these supplies I've had lying around for much too long!
Here's a card I made for the QFTD111 challenge over on SCS. This week our new queen is Betty/gbedwright, and I cased this pretty thank-you card from her gallery. You can find all the specifics for making this card on my SCS gallery link here.

That's going to do it for purple flowers for this Friday :) Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Queens and Birthdays

Hello and happy Saturday! I'm sharing a couple cards I posted over on SCS earlier this week. This card was made for the QFTD110 challenge, which celebrated Holly/aka Toy as the latest queen for the day. I cased this pretty card from her gallery and made my own version, keeping the same basic design. I used the lattice weaving technique, creating a window with a SB labels 4 die and then embossing it with a CB swiss dots ef. Next I put a piece of square lattice embossed cardstock behind the woven panel and matted with real red cardstock. I used a SU! bird punch along with a MS fern punch to create the leaves and the red gemstones were a $1 find from Michaels. I used 2 different flower punches and the SU! word window and fancy labels punches for the computer-generated sentiment.

This card was made for the SC382 sketch challenge. I'm using a new SNSS digi image called butterfly and flower. I used a very old piece of dsp for the background, and added some pure poppy dsp behind the punched border. The border was done with an EK brick pattern punch that I won from Simon Says Stamp, as part of a prize package for winning over at the House Mouse challenge blog! Whee! I colored the image with Copics and cut it with a SB square die, adding some pretty pink gemstones from Pizzazz Aplenty - which I also won as part of a prize package from a different House Mouse challenge! Double Whee!! I added the birthday greeting from the SNSS Poppies and Greetings clear stamp set and used some circle punches to create it. The green mats were done with PTI new leaf cardstock.
That will do it for me today, so thanks for stopping by and I wish all of you a fabulous crafty weekend!

SCS Cards

I'm sharing two cards today that I posted over on SCS recently. This was for the QFTD105 to honor Korin - the owner of Sweet'n Sassy Stamps. All of the details can be found here.

This card was made for the CAS163 and all the details can be found here.
Sorry to be so brief today but I'm having a little difficulty typing with a stiff neck and shoulder :)
Make it a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy this gorgeous sunshine!

Blue Flowers and a Calendar Page

Welcome to my blog and the month of March. Today I'm sharing another fantastic calendar page my friend Heidi sent me for Christmas. She started this blog with me way back when, but no longer has time for blogging. I'm glad she still finds time to make incredible things like this calendar! {{Hugs}} and thank you's Heidi! Aren't those boots on the cow hysterical?! LOL

I posted this card over on SCS yesterday. It's a combination of two challenges - the F4A106 to use blue flowers, and also for the QFTD102 -StampingQueenJar {Judy}. Here is her card that I cased. I used PTI Enchanted Evening and SU! Bashful Blue card stock, embossing with the SU! Petals A Plenty ef, and using the SU! Carte Postale stamp et. I used Nestabilities squares for the images, and just added 1/8" to the size and hand-cut the mats. The tag was done with a Cricut, and the sentiment is by SNSS, and ribbon is also Bashful Blue from SU!
While I had that stamp set out, I used a different flower image from it and made a 2nd card, using the same card stock colors, only adding some old olive in the mix. The stamps were colored with markers before stamping. This time I used SU! punches for the images and added some piercing. I still have these colors out on my desk, and I might make some more cards with them before I get tired of looking at them :)

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you all a wonderful weekend. Can you believe the clocks get turned ahead next weekend already? Time flies by so quickly anymore!!

It'll Be Okay :)

Hello and a very happy Sunday to everyone! I have a couple cards to share with you today. Here is this week's Stars & Stamps sketch #109....

and here is my card. I used an image from MFT Pure Innocence, colored with Copics and used matching scraps of blue and embossed yellow card stock to put this together. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, and I just added a tiny snippet of yellow gingham ribbon to finish this simple card!

This is the 2nd card I wanted to share. It was made for the SCS QFTD100, to honor Lydia/aka Understandblue. I cased this gorgeous card in her gallery and made a similar version, using a CHF chicken wire background stamp along with  a sentiment from Northwoods. The floral image is SU!'s fabulous flowers, and it was colored with CTMH markers and hand-cut. The center flower was popped up with foam tape, adding a gemstone brad to the center. I never thought of coloring this flower blue until I saw her card, but I love how it turned out!
That will do it for me today, so I wish you all a great Sunday, and thanks for stopping by!

More Cards

I recently posted these cards in my gallery over on SCS so I thought I'd share them here too. This card was made for the sketch challenge SC366, and I used this cute SNSS Berry Sweet Cocoa image with Echo Park dp and some bling. The vertical panel was done with an EK punch and some scraps of yellow and green. I tossed it a little bling just for fun. The inside says "you are berry berry special."
This card was done for the SNSS January Release Party challenge #2. Cathy challenged us to a tic-tac-toe challenge, and I chose red, hearts, and ribbon from the grid. DP is by Recollections, along with SU! crumb cake and black. Sentiment is by SU! and I used a square lattice ef on the squares.
This card was made for the QFTD94, wendybell. I cased this card from her gallery, changing the colors, ribbon placement and adding a sentiment. I used retired BG two scoops dp for the entire card, adding a punched border done with an EK punch, and embossing with Sizzix Valentine set and SU! square lattice efs. I added a few touches of a Viva Pearl Pen for interest.
This card is for the SNSS January Release Party challenge #3 to do paper piecing. I needed a sympathy card, so I chose some softly colored SU! retired dp, and stamped the flowers from the SNSS "Your Friendship" set with versafine ink, and embossed them with gold ep. I added some gold micro beads to the centers, then embossed the MSE sentiment with gold embossing powder too. I edged the Spellbinders labels eighteen with a Marvy gold paint pen before cutting and added some cream colored satin ribbon.
And last, I made this quick and simple Valentine card by using strips of left-over ribbon. This was for the SNSS January Release Party challenge #1 to make a card with black & white and one other color. Check! All this needed was a little pop of red and it was done.
Thanks for staying with me for this extended post. I hope your Sunday is fabulous!

Christmas and a Card for a Queen

I thought I'd share a quick and easy design for some Chrismtas cards I've been making. For this, I used Spellbinders small scalloped squares and 2 snowflake punches along with some enchanted evening card stock, white embossing powder and a few tiny Geo Sparklers. This design looks great in lots of different colors, and it doesn't require extra postage!
I made this card for the QFTD82 challenge over on SCS where Joan Ervin was chosen for this week's queen. I cased this card from her gallery and made a few subtle changes. I used the SU! fabulous flowers image, stamping with versamark on pink vellum, then I stamped it right on the crumb cake card stock and embossed both with white ep. I layered the vellum over the image on the cardstock, and added a few Kaiser blush pearls. The sentiment is from SU!'s sincere salutations. A little bit of Walmart Ribbon, and this was done!
I may be back a little later with another card if I have time to make one. Take care and enjoy your Sunday!

QFTD25 Southern Delight

For this week's QFTD25 over on SCS, Phyllis (otherwise known as SparklePlenty1000) has been chosen to wear the crown. There's no way I can create an ornate card like she can, so I opted to case this whimsical card and play it safe. I flipped the sketch to accomodate this StampNDoodle digi image and layered it on Nesties Labels 10. The sentiment was computer generated and was intended as a pun since the low-cut dress clearly shows her um.......assets heading south! To further mock her, I embossed the black panel with the Tim Holtz brick wall embossing folder to indicate that she's already "hit the wall!" Ack!
I hope you got a smile or chuckle from this card, and I hope you're enjoying a fantastic holiday weekend!
