Merry Monday #24

Here's my card for the Merry Monday #24 Christmas card challenge. I pulled out some "Jingle" dsp from LilyBeeDesigns for the background, and added some Cherry Cobbler borders and ornaments. The Hearfelt Creation ornaments were embossed with silver ep and die cut with matching dies. I added some silver cording and bows to string them up. The sentiment is from Warm Words (r).
Here's this week's sketch....

I posted the following card over on SCS earlier today for the TLC381 to use half of an element on your card, and the CAS174 challenge to use a white layer on white.

For my half element, I die cut a top note & cut it in half, then embossed it with the swiss dots ef. I trimmed around the edge to give it a layered look when I placed it on top of a full top note die cut. I stamped the sentiment with soft grey ink, added some ribbon and a store bought bow with cluster pearls, and that was all she wrote! I needed to add more sympathy cards to my stash, and I love white on white for that occasion.

Thanks for stopping by today, and I wish you a wonderful week ahead!

SCS Cards

I'm sharing two cards today that I posted over on SCS recently. This was for the QFTD105 to honor Korin - the owner of Sweet'n Sassy Stamps. All of the details can be found here.

This card was made for the CAS163 and all the details can be found here.
Sorry to be so brief today but I'm having a little difficulty typing with a stiff neck and shoulder :)
Make it a wonderful Wednesday and enjoy this gorgeous sunshine!

Happy First Day of Spring!

Good Morning and a very happy Spring to everyone! I have a very simple CAS card today, made for the CAS162 challenge over at SCS. The challenge this week is a sketch, and a very simple one at that! I used a violet bouquet stamp from SCACD and framed it with white card stock after cutting it with petite ovals and embossing it with the Swiss dots ef. The sentiment is retired SU small script and was stamped with Memento Cottage Ivy ink. The image was colored with Copics. CAS and so easy to put together - I hope you like it :)
Enjoy your day - I'm off to get those dreaded taxes done (hate it!)

SSS148_TLC367_CAS160

Here is this week's sketch challenge 148 from The Sweet Stop Challenge Blog...
And here is my take on the challenge. I just sent a box to OWH last week that included Mother's Day cards, so now it's time to work on some Father's day cards. I pulled out all things masculine for this one, including the Super Dad Symbol digi image from SNSS. I added a panel of red that I embossed with the diamond plate ef, added some screw brads, eyelets, and twine to match. The yellow dsp is by Echo Park, and the blue is from the Paper Co.

I made this set of 3x3 cards for today's CAS160 to use a monogram, and for the TLC367 to use one color/no color - stamp with one color ink, and don't do any other coloring in of the image. I combined both these challenges and made a set of gift cards with a matching box. I used Just-Rite monogram stamps with a few scraps of purple and lavender, embossing with a square lattice ef and adding a paper flower. Each card has a different outer design, and if you click the photo you can see the tiny gemstones I added to the design.
That will do it for me today, but thanks so much for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

Catching up with Challenges

I made this card for the Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #107. I was able to make a masculine birthday card by using up a couple scraps from my bin. The black panel was done with a Sizzix ef, and I used Copics in 3 shades to add some gradient color to the sentiment. The ribbon slide was cut with my Quickutz die and embossed with silver ep. I added some faux stitching and turquoise ribbon for the finishing touch.

This card uses the same sketch as the card above, but I flipped it and made  a card for Mother. This is for the Stars and Stamps ODBD challenge to use ribbon. I used a piece of polka dot dsp and embossed it with the petals a plenty ef from SU, dotting the flowers with a spica glitter pen. The image is sweet peas from Flourishes and I did a little paper piercing around the outside edges. The sentiment is by Verve stamps, and the ribbon is one of those little bobbin ribbons I picked up at JoAnne's. I tied a knot to the vertical ribbon first, and then added a separate bow done with the Bow Easy - fastened on top with strong tacky glue. The dsp and card stock is all from SU!

And here is one more card that meets 3 challenges. I used the Serafina Heart die by MB along with some Cherry Cobbler card stock for the main image, and made a border using diagonal strips of Cherry Cobbler & BoBunny Crush dsp. The tiny tag from SU was hand written and I used a tiny punch-out heart from the SNSS hearts and stars border dies. This card is for the Stars and Stamps CAS  skip challenge, as well as the TLC363 to make your own stripes, and the CAS156 to make a CAS card using hearts.

That's going to be it for me today! Thanks for stopping by and if you missed it, be sure and check out Heidi's February calendar page below this post! You'll be glad you did :)
