Christmas Poinsettia

I bought this TE poinsettia ef last year and have barely used it, so it's time to make a card with it. It's a great background for the Spellbinders die-cut poinsettia which was cut with real red card stock and winked all over with clear WOS. I curled each petal by pressing it around a pencil, and for the smaller ones I used a knitting needle. The border was done with a SNSS ribbon border die, and threaded with metallic silver ribbon. I silver embossed a snippet of white card, then die-cut it with a Lil Inker stitched banner and used a SU!  "teeny tiny wishes" stamp for the sentiment before cutting it with a SU! word window punch. The gemstones in the center of the flower came from Reasonable Craft Dies.

Also entering into the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - "traditional Christmas" - I used traditional red & green Christmas colors.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever your plans are!

Christmas in July

It's been so hot I decided to start working on Christmas cards to cool myself off!
I dug through my stash and found this snippet of designer paper that had some pretty ornaments on it, so I built my card around it. I gave it 2 scalloped borders of red and green done with a (r) SU! Scalloped border punch. The background was done with a (r) SU! Snowburst ef, and the silver foil doily is also by SU!. The little tag was done with a stamp from the SU! Merry Everything set, heat-embossed with silver ep on white and cut with a matching (r) SU! punch; then popped up on foam dots. I added a twine bow, and 3 little gemstones and placed it all on a real red card base. The ornament on the top right is a dark green color, which is why I added green embellishments. I had to turn the card sideways to avoid the glare from the silver foil, so the colors aren't showing up as true to life. The tiny polka dots in the snippet background are also green, so it all works together with good lighting.

so I'll be linking my card there.

I'm also entering it here...

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you have a great Wednesday!
