Looking Back in Time

I don't often do vintage cards because I struggle with them, but I pulled out some long-hoarded "distressables"papers by Tim Holtz and cut some elements out to put this card together. You can see bits of the 1914 report card along with the old school photo and box of crayons cut from one sheet of the paper. The old-fashioned phone was done on a piece of Tim Holtz paper from the "shabby chic" paper pad with a Studio Calico stamp set and die cut with a MFT stitched circle die. The sentiment is from the same set and was stamped on a snippet of the reverse side of the photo paper. I added a few enamel dots from SU! in 2 different colors. I'm not sure if I want to make this a birthday or a retirement card, so I'll put the sentiment inside when I get ready to use it.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Old Fashioned Tag

Here's a tag I put together with some snippets of cardstock, designer paper, twine and ribbon. I used a Lawn Fawn "Tag it" die set to cut the tags from vanilla and SU designer paper, then used a SU! Hearts A Flutter framelits die set to cut the small red scalloped top element. The greens were cut with a Martha Stewart fern punch and dotted with gold stickles for a little sparkle. I added a SU! sentiment from Teeny Tiny Wishes, a twine bow, and some vanilla ribbon with a snippet of gold cord.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

Pixies Snippets Playground #258 - must use snippets

Tuesday Throwdown TT321 - make a tag

Craftyhazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge for December - use patterned paper

CHNC 310 - make it vintage

CHNC challenge extra for December 2016 - Christmas anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and I hope your day is fabulous!

Be Inspired

Here's a tag I made for the Unity Be Inspired challenge going on this month. I used the following photo inspiration .......

I spotted the door in the photo and remembered I had this Unity Itty Bitty stamp called "shut the front door!" I used an old manilla file folder for the tag, embossed it with a bricked ef, and sponged Fired Brick ink all over it for a vintage look. I stamped the door image on another scrap of manilla folder, and fussy cut it, popping it up on foam tape. I added negative pieces from die cuts along with a little heart randomly around the door image. I put glossy accents on the windows, and red smooch on the lower door panel, along with some wine colored ribbon with silver cording. I punched some MS ferns in embossed silver and white and added a few red gemstones for the door spray. On the reverse side, I stamped "Merry Christmas from our house to yours."

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day today!

Make it Sparkle

The challenge this week over at Simon Says Stamp is to "make it sparkle." The hat on this adorable Ellen Powell digi image is loaded with sparkly stickles. What little girl doesn't like to sparkle? I die cut the vanilla panel with a beaded oval from SB and sponged the tiny ovals with soft pink ink, and then made a tag for the image! I added some May Arts crochet trim, and some pearls and pink gemstones. The background was done with a Sizzix Damask ef and the image was fussy cut and popped up on the tag with dimensionals. The sentiment was heat-embossed with gold which adds another element of sparkle.

With all of the snippets of pink I used on this card, I'm also sharing it over at the Snippets Playground #136.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Beary Wishes Lady Caroline

Here's a brand new pre-colored digi image from Beary Wishes called Lady Caroline. She comes in two different color choices or line drawn images so you can color your own gown. I printed the image, and die cut it with a SB labels 18, drawing a fine black line around the edge of the die. I placed her on a piece of Echo Park dsp, and added some pink satin ribbon and a few pink and light blue pearl accents. Be sure to check the Beary Wishes blog for my fellow DT member's creations and wonderful inspiration. This image is now available in the Beary Wishes shop right here.

Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Vintage Woman in Repose

I played along with Sharon's Stamp Simply Challenge #123 this week to create something "very vintage". Whenever I think of vintage, this Rubber Stampede stamp always comes to mind. I pulled out a scrap of lacy dsp, along with some rose and brown papers from the DCWV old world stack and started creating. I stamped the image on Vintage Cream cardstock with Versafine Sepia ink, then embossed it with clear ep. I lightly chalked some color onto the face, hair and lips for a subtle look. 2 of the layers were stitched by machine. I used the MS doily and the EK Fleur de lis punches to make the borders. A slit punch was used to add the sentiment. I added some ivory satin ribbon and a few Blush Kaiser pearls and that's it! The sentiment is by Hero Arts.
I hope you're all enjoying your Friday and I hope it's fantastic for you!!
