White Dresses

A neighbor of mine is getting married soon, so here's a little card for her bridal shower. I used a SU! dress form framelit die, adding a couple layers of tulle  on the skirt of the dress with some narrow satin ribbon around the waist. (click to enlarge for details) The background was done with a Spellbinders "flowers" Impressabilities and I added some Wink of Stella shimmer to the flowers in the pattern. I added some 2mm pearls to the bodice of the dress, and silver embossed the SU! teeny tiny wishes sentiment. Both the embossed panel and the card base were die cut with Lil Inker stitched rectangles.

Lately, I've been making 2 of each style card I make, so here's the 2nd one.........

For this one, I used a different dress framelit in the set of SU! dies, and embossed the skirt with a CB swiss dots ef. I added a satin waistband, and a silver embossed punched flower with a tiny gemstone in the center. I'm not sure if I like all the white on white, because the elements seem to blend into one another.

I'm sharing over at the Shopping our Stash Challenge #257 which is to use a dress from or a dress.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Paper Pieced Umbrellas

I had time to make another card today, and since a friend asked me to make her a shower card, I thought I'd combine her request with the Mod Squad Pretty Pieces challenge (do some paper piecing).

I have been playing with this Wild Orchid cardstock from GinaK and just love the color! For this card I paper pieced some dollar store umbrella stamps with some GinaK Garden Tour dsp. I paper pieced the 4th umbrella with the wild orchid for a little balance. The sentiment panel was done with a SU! stamp and layered on a Crealies Text Tag. The border was done with a fancy scallop punch, and I added some "rain drops" with a stamp by Judith. For the final touch, I added some royal blue gems to the umbrella tops and sentiment panel. The neutral panel is Soft Stone card stock.

I hope she likes this card, as I seldom have requests to make shower cards and don't own any stamps for the occasion.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!
