Happy Independence Day!

July 4th is the day we celebrate our independence here in the US and I made a card for this occasion using the colors of the American flag. I used the CAS(E) this Sketch #379 design to put this together. A strip of blue, 2 strips of red cut with a MFT notched border, a sentiment and some fireworks (stamped off in red, blue and platinum planet for a softer look) and 4 stars for the 4th of July, and I called this one done.
Wishing everyone who celebrates this day a very happy, fun, and safe July 4th!

Hello

I made a quick "hello" card with some dark pink cardstock and a few snippets of pink & grey dsp to make this card. I used a Memory Box Woodland branch die for the bird to sit on. The leaves were done with an EK leaves border punch, and the bird was a die cut from Impression Obsession. I turned the white bird into a bluebird with a Copic marker and gave him an eye with a black marker, and finally added the tiny greeting done with a stamp from the Beautiful Bouquet set by SU!

I'm sharing this with the Dies R Us challenge #142 - anything goes
using dies sold in the DiesRUs store - (I.O. Bird)

I'm also sharing with the CAS(E) this Sketch Challenge #366

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Monday. Thanks for stopping by.

Golden Snowflake

I used some vanilla, along with some mirror red and gold cardstock to create this quick and easy Christmas card. I die-cut the Lawn Fawn stitched snowflake in red and gold, interchanging the negatives of red in the center. The gold strip was embossed with a SU! retired starburst ef, and the red strip was embossed with a Darice Snowflake Swirl ef, and the sentiment is by DieVersions, die cut in both red and gold.

I'm sharing this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - "All That Glitters is Gold" - add some gold sparkle on your creation. They're also featuring Lawn Fawn products this week.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Sunday!

Two Cards From One Die

We finally had some sunshine that enabled me to take some photos this morning. I don't usually do CAS challenges, because I love layering, but the CAS(E) this Sketch#100 immediately made me think of this PTI center stage die I have, so I put it to good use and made a card. I cut the die with Navy  and cut it in half, then added some snippets of green polka dot paper, adding a SU! sentiment along with some smiley faces done with a Stampendous stamp. We all smile when saying thanks don't we?? :)

Since I cut the center stage die into 2 pieces, I figured I might as well make another card with the other half, so this one includes some pale blue polka dot dsp with the navy. I stamped the Hero Arts sentiment and then darn!! I found a big navy smudge of ink on the light blue panel, so I pulled out a Cheery Lynn mini flourish die and managed to cover the mistake with one of the leaves. I added 3 punched flowers done with a SU! mini punch, and dotted the centers with a glaze pen so this card will go through the mail without extra postage.

Thanks for stopping by today and I wish you a day filled with sunshine!

Lots of Love

Sorry for the off-color photo, but we're in the midst of some very gloomy weather and I use natural light to photograph my cards. This was the best I could do!
I rarely do CAS cards because I'm better at layering, but I decided to play along with the CAS(E) this Sketch #79, since I recently purchased some Recollections Fabric Washi Tape for a ridiculous price at Michael's and wanted to use it. It was priced 60% off plus I used a 25% off coupon, so 3 rolls of it cost just a few cents! Score!
The fabric washi includes the polka dots and checks, while the other black & red panels are regular washi tape from my stash. The little love sentiments are from SU! while the larger "Love You" is from SNSS. The tiny hearts were stamped with LawnFawn stamps, and the silver and red brads were from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and I wish you a day filled with love!

Happy Fright Night

I love this old Martha Stewart goo punch, and every year at Halloween I make a few cards with it. I based my card on the CAS(E) this Sketch 47 challenge, using random strips of card stock. I just punched and layered them, adding a MS punched spider and giving him 2 yellow gemstone eyes. The sentiment is a combination of Inkadinkado (happy) and SU! (fright night) that were stamped with Versamark and embossed with white ep. I doubt this card qualifies for the "CAS" category, but I'll enter it anyway. Halloween is fun, and I had fun making this one :)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Wednesday!

Trips!

Here's a card I made for 3 different challenges.
First up is the OWH Stars and Stamps midweek throwdown challenge to make something X's 3. Check!
It's also for the Simon Says Stamp challenge which is "Take a picture." Check!
I designed the card using this sketch over at CAS(E) this sketch #29.

I used a CTMH stamp set for the camera image and sentiment, and used SU! spiral and square punches for the "film" panel. The smiley faces were stamped with white colorbox ink, and I used a white signo pen to do faux stitching around the edges. The blue was a scrap left over from a previous project.

It's not often I can wrap 3 challenges into one card, so today I accomplished something :)

Thanks for stopping by and have a fabulous day!

Tags, Twine, and & Sketch

Here's the fun challenge for CAS(E) this Sketch #22. I liked the tag right smack dab in the center, so I combined this challenge with the OWH Stars and Stamps mid-week throwdown challenge to use tags 'n twine.

I made a large tag that accommodates this great SimonSaysStamp sentiment.  It's from a set called "Shoot for the Stars." I used patriotic colors since this will be going into my next OWH box. I used some washi tape across the bottom with some twine and punched stars, a star sticker, and a mini star brad. I added scoring for the horizontal panel that might be more visible if you click the photo to enlarge it.

Back to the laundry and cleaning! I'd rather be stamping, but somebody's got to get the house work done :) Have yourself a great weekend!

Using an old Punch

I wanted to play along with this great sketch from CASe this sketch#20, so I dug deep into my supplies and discovered a punch I'd completely forgotten I had!

Does anyone have one of those little file folder punches like this one by McGill? I haven't used it since my scrapbook days, but I pulled it out and decided I'd have some fluttering hearts either falling down into it, or floating up out of it. I suppose it depends on whether you'd see the glass half-full or half empty :) I used some scraps of pink gingham to line the folder, and make some matching mini hearts with a SNSS heart border die. The smooch is a big brad I bought at a trade show last year. The sentiment and tiny hearts beneath it were done with a retired SU hostess set, and I believe it was called So Many Sayings, but I'm not positive about the name. I liked the way this turned out so I made a couple more in different colors.....

I'm also entering these cards into the Pixie's Crafty Snippets Playground #65
since I used lots of leftover snippets to put these cards together. The card bases are all vanilla and IRL, the file folders look like the real thing in miniature size :)

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day!

Four Challenges for Love

Hello and a very happy Monday! I combined several challenges to make a card and it all started with this great sketch from CAS(E) this sketch#14.

This is what I began with, but after I finished it, I realized I centered the elements, and the sketch clearly shows them to the bottom. Ok scratch this and back to the drawing board.

I made a 2nd card and placed the elements to the bottom, but after I finished it, I just wasn't happy with it for some reason, so back to the craft table for one more try!

Once I decided to go with a blue heart and add some embossing and rounded corners, I was finally happy with my card! YAY! This is not only for the CAS(E) this sketch #14, but I'm also entering it into the following three challenges...

MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #146 to make a card with a "love" theme.
Pixies Crafty Snippets Playground #59 to use leftover snippets from a project
(that tiny strip of polka dot dsp is my snippet)
CAS-ual Fridays CFC89  to use Love Song Inspiration

The inspiration for my card came from that great old tune by the Climax Blues Band called "I Love You." I never get tired of hearing that song!

That's going to do it for me, but I wish you all a great Monday, and thanks so much for stopping by!

A Trio of Challenges

Here's the CAS(E) this Sketch#11 challenge.....

and here's the masculine thank-you card I made. I used leftover pieces of turquoise, along with white, and a sentiment from SU!. I really like the clean lines of this sketch, and I'll be making more of these cards in different colors.

And this is the sketch for this week's SSS194 challenge with a spin to use a snowman image.

Have you ever found a paper pad you just love to create with and wish you had a never-ending supply? Well that's how I feel about this Echo Park Winter Wishes paper pad. There isn't a sheet in the entire pad I don't like! I used a SNSS snowman image and sentiment for this, and added some purple cardstock, some Pizzazz Aplenty pearls, and some PTI ribbon. The paper pretty much does all the work on this card. For the most part I just added some Copic coloring to this adorable snowman image.

Last but not least, is the Perfect Sentiments Challenge PSC62, which is to create a card with an encouragement sentiment on the front, and add some ribbon as well.

I stamped the Serene Silhouettes image with Versafine Onyx Black on glossy paper, then embossed it with clear detail ep. After it dried, I sponged on some Razzleberry, Bashful Blue, and Daffodil inks with a sponge. I matted with black, and matching colors of cardstock, embossing the razzleberry panel with a square lattice ef. I don't know the origin of the sentiment - I had it stamped and punched in a pile of half-started projects, so I just layered it on some bashful blue using a SU! fancy label punch. The ribbon is bashful blue.

OK, that's going to do it for me today, but thanks so much for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

CAS Sketch & a Round of Applause

Here's a card for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC85 - which is "a round of applause" for a celebration or occasion with at least one circle. I've also used the CAS(E) this sketch #10 by Lisa Arana. I saw a card similar to this on Pinterest and wanted to try the ribbon weaving for myself, so I used some narrow ribbons from my stash. The sentiment and circle are from the CAS-ual Friday's stamp set "woot woot." The inside will have a birthday sentiment.

Back to the laundry - I hope you're having a great day :)

Field Flowers Birthday Card

I made this card for CAS(E) this sketch challenge #6. The image is from SU! Field Flowers and I used 4 different colors of red, along with old olive ink. The blooms were fussy cut and popped up on foam tape. The embossing was done with a Hero Arts chevron ef, and the sentiment was done with an Inkadinkado stamper & cut with a SU! jewelry tag. The card base is PTI vintage cream and I matted with red cardstock. The ribbon is cream taffeta from Pizzazz Aplenty, and I attached the tag with some SU! gold cording.

My SIL's birthday card is finished:)

Wishing you all a great day today, and thanks for stopping by!

Catching up with Challenges

Here's my card for this week's Merry Monday #40 sketch challenge. I used some cherry cobbler and a scrap of tan cardstock along with a Hero Arts sentiment. The background was done with the Sizzix Snowglobe ef and the sentiment panel was done with a SB labels eighteen die. Ribbon was from my LSS.

This card meets 3 challenges: The CASology week #18 which is "orange," The MFP Speedy Fox & Friends challenge #132 to use ric-rac, and the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #5. I die cut some hearts using a SNSS die and drew the lines they're hanging on with a black marker, adhered the ric-rac, and stamped a sentiment from the MFP Thankful Mums and Pumpkins stamp set.

Lastly, I made this card for the OWH Stars and Stamps mid-week throwdown to create a card with red, white, & blue. The sentiment is by Hero Arts, and the red panel was embossed with a HA/Sizzix zig-zag ef, while the navy panel was embossed with a CB decorative tiles ef. I added a little piercing around the sentiment panel, and added 2 star brads on the side.

I think I'm caught up on a few challenges now, so on to other things :) Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Friday!

A CAS Sketch Card

Here's my card for the CAS-ual Fridays CFC77 challenge which is to create a masculine card. I also used the CAS(E) this Sketch challenge #4 for the design.

I was the extremely lucky person who won all 5 of the brand new CAS-ual Fridays stamp sets, so I used elements from 3 of those sets for this card. Those sets are the Big Thanks, Woot Woot, and Truth is, and I used Memento Danube Blue, Lady Bug, Tangelo, along with some Versafine onyx black inks. I added a black pearl to the centers and that was all this card needed.

I hope you're enjoying that extra hour of sleep, and here in SE PA we finally have some brilliant sunshine after such a dismal week. There's nothing that  compares to waking up with bright sunshine! Have a great Sunday!

Double CAS Card

I'm playing along with this week's CAS(E) this sketch #3 ...

and this week's CASology #16 challenge.

And here's the card I made to meet both challenges. I used a SNSS wildflowers image and sentiment & added a punched border with a scrap of pink card stock. I placed a flower gemstone to the center of the flower. The stamp was colored with markers before stamping, and the circle was cut with a SB circle die. Quick & simple, and I guess this is about as "wild" as I get these days :)

Thanks for stopping by!

A Triple Play Challenge Card

It isn't often when I'm able to combine 3 great challenges into one card, but I managed to do it today! I used the colors of the DynamicDuo25 of pumpkin pie & black (with a dessert option of die cuts), the sketch from CAS(E) this sketch #2, and the CAS-ual Fridays CFC75 challenge to "go over the edge." I used a flower image from SU! Fifth Avenue Florals, and stamped it on pumpkin pie, then embossed it with clear ep and hand cut it. I layered it on 2 Sizzix stem die cuts and added some black pearls from Pizzazz Aplenty to the center. The sentiment is from MFP, and the card base is PTI white.

Wishing you a wonderful Wednesday, and thanks so much for stopping by!

ETA: OOPS! the CAS(E) this sketch links closed yesterday, so I won't be able to enter this there! :)
