Today I have a summery birthday card to share with you. While sorting through my overwhelming supply of stamps, I found this long-forgotten Black-Eyed Susan stamp set from Mark's Finest Papers (now closed) I stamped it and colored it with Copics, Markers, and glaze pens; adding Nuvo black drops in the center and dotting some orange with glaze pens after it dried. I fussy cut this flower and placed it on a white card that was stenciled with Tumbled Glass distress ink and Taylored Expressions cloud stencils. I die cut the large and small sun images from Lil Inker (also now closed) with scraps of orange, red, and yellow. The birds and dragonfly were done with an older Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, while the sentiment was done with a Taylored Expressions stamp. The grassy border was done with an unmarked wooden stamp I've had for years.

What a very pretty Summer scene you've made here Carol! I'm looking at that Black-Eyed Susan and thinking of the ones I have in my backyard. I love looking at them every Summer they begin to bloom as they're such a bright happy yellow flower! It's perfect for a happy birthday wish too! TFS friend!

Hi dear Carol! I didn't know this flower called Black-Eyed Susan, but think it's just gorgeous! Love the dimension you gave it and the details in the centre! The sun is absolutely cheery with all the rays and the stitching, love how it looks on the sweet cloudy sky! Beautiful details as well with the birds, dragonfly and that cute grassy border!

So pretty, Carol! Love the Black Eyed Susan as it's one of my favorite flowers! You created a beautiful scene with this card with the sponging of the sky and that cute diecut sun! Hope you've been enjoying this cooler weather. Looks like the heat & humidity comes back this weekend but hopefully not to stay! This morning it felt like a touch of Fall in the air. Beautiful card, Carol. This post was also a reminder of how many places have closed. (and I'm sure there will be more in the future) So sad...All I know is that I still want to keep crafting, even though, I keep having a more difficult time finding the time to craft.
