New Home

Our neighbor's son has just bought his first home and will be moving into it in a couple weeks, so I made this little "card" for him. It's an Easel card with a little drawer to hold a gift for the occasion and I used THIS tutorial. He (along with his parents) have been like family to us through the years, always helping with the things we're no longer able to do, and he has the most giving and kind heart, so we wish him all the very best with his new digs! I used a Stampendous "bunny bath" stamped image and colored it with Copics to match the retired bits of SU! dsp I used to assemble this. He's the outdoors type and loves the green and brown colors of the earth, so that's why I chose these colors and designer paper. If I'd had some camouflage print, I'd have used that instead.

I used a neutral piece of tan card stock to punch the border for the sentiment and added a few enamel dots from Gina Marie Designs that came as a free gift with a previous order. I used a big gold brad to make the drawer handle, and here's what it looks like opened up...

I added some clear stickles to the steam coming from the hot tub just for fun. I can't wait to surprise him with this "card" with a little surprise inside to help him with that new home he just bought! We are so happy for him!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Carol

He sounds like a wonderful young man and he will get a kick out of this card. I love House Mouse and this is a fun one. I have to go watch the video since this is such a great way to present a gift card. Love the frog in the jar too.

Fabulous card, Carol. I love the design with the little drawer. When I saw the cute image, all I could think of was how lovely it would be to lie a barrel like this, full of cool water. It has been SO hot here today! xx

Aww, this is a fabulous card for this young man! If he is anything like his parents, then he is a great guy I know. I love your bunny in his "hot" tub, to cute and I too love the colors. Earth colors are just so pretty to me, even though I love all colors. These colors just are amazing and brings this card/box all together. I love it and I'm sure this young man is going to love it too! Hugs, Brenda
