Shaker Birthday Card

I was hesitant to post this shaker card, because after it was finished, I realized I should have used a white panel inside the shaker so you could see the contents  and the colors. Oh well, that's how I learn - through mistakes. I used PTI Berry Sorbet cardstock along with my Spellbinders Postage Stamp dies, placing a smaller die inside of the larger one to create the shaker frame. I used clear tulle for the shaker and added pink, white, gold, and black sequins inside. I added a couple of small Cheery Lynn flourish dies cut with white, and added matching flowers done with SU! mini punches (r). The centers were filled with tiny black gemstones and the sentiment is by Sweet'n Sassy stamps.

I'm sharing this with the Tuesday Throwdown Challenge #368 which is to make a shaker card.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great weekend!

Birthday Shaker Card

I have a sweet friend who's celebrating her birthday today, and she received this card yesterday, so I'm able to share it with you today.
I made the shaker with tulle - it's the easiest way I've found to make a shaker and the best part? It goes through the mail with one stamp! I used Coastal Cabana cardstock, and added some white, aqua and silver sequins to the shaker. The stars were die cut with a SNSS star die set, and the word "happy" is from a SSS die set. The "birthday" sentiment is a SNSS die and I added Nuvo aqua glitter drops to the candle in the word birthday, as well as 2 of the smaller stars. I randomly added more drops around the card as well.

I'm sharing this with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - seeing stars

In addition to my friend celebrating her birthday today, I also have another friend who's celebrating her wedding anniversary today! You both know who you are - I wish you both a fabulous day of celebrating!

Have a great Friday and stay cool if you can! It's going to be another scorcher here today - whew!

Anniversary Shaker Card

I thought I'd try making a card with hearts in a color other than red, so for this one I used some Hello Honey and white. I made my first shaker card using tulle after receiving a beautiful one from a sweet friend. (Thanks Judy)
I die cut 2 stitched hearts to create the frame for the shaker and added an assortment of white, gold, and silver sequins. Next I decided to add some flower detail to the side to balance things. The large flower was done with a SU! flower shop stamp in versamark, then heat-embossed with white ep and fussy cut by hand. The smaller flowers (both honey and white) were done with SU! punches. The flourish was die-cut with a small Cheery Lynn fanciful flourish, and all the clear gemstones are from Pizzazz Aplenty. The sentiment is a peel-off sticker. What I really like most about this card is that the shaker is flat enough to mail without extra postage, plus the gems inside shake freely without getting stuck on the sides! That's a win/win for me :)

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:

Thanks for checking in again today and I wish you a day filled with sunshine and happiness :)
