FS156 ButterflyEars

I've mentioned that I don't usually stamp on Sundays, but I seem to be contradicting myself again don't I? LOL I saw that Nicole aka ButterflyEars was the featured stamper today, so I couldn't resist playing along. She's long been someone whose work I admire, and when I found this creation done in purple (my favorite color) I knew I had to CASE it!
I changed the stamp, the horizontal border, and I added some ribbon and a padded brad. I used the Flourishes Calendar 2 set and stamped the iris with versamark and embossed it with white ep. I colored it with prismacolor pencils and Goo-gone. I colored the 4 white button brads with versamark and dipped them in lavender ep and embossed them to match. I used the same CB button ef that Nicole used on her card. The scalloped border was done with a SU punch, and the silk ribbon is from Sharon Johnson's store. The papers are by Prism, in Majestic Purple light and medium shades.
Nicole also has her own blog if you want to visit her there. She's such a thoughtful person who always leaves great comments, and I know she'd love it if you played along too :) Congrats Nicole, WTG!!!
Enjoy your Sunday and make it a meaningful one :)

FS153 - it's WeeBeeStampin Wendy!! Woot!!!

I rarely get around to checking the Featured Stamper over on SCS because I usually take a break from stamping on Sundays. Somehow I found my way over there earlier today and I was just thrilled to see that my blogging buddy Wendy Aungst of WeeBeeStampin is this week's featured stamper!!! WTG Wendy.......it's a well-earned honor my friend!!! So much for not stamping on this Sunday LOL!!
I could have spent hours browsing her fabulous gallery, but when I found this card, I decided to CASE it. I changed the colors, the floral images, the sentiment, and the embossing folder. I used the Fifth Avenue Florals, stamping the images with Versamark on colored cardstock and embossed them with white ep and then cut them out. I also used the Manhattan Florals ef to do the front panel. The flowers were popped up on foam tape and of course I had to add those awesome silver pearls to the centers because they just looked naked without them! The sentiment was done with Razzleberry ink and I used a Just-Rite stamper for the get well wish. Cardstocks used were Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, and Bermuda Bay, along with some rustic cream cardstock for the base.
Do yourself a favor and browse Wendy's fabulous gallery on SCS here, or check out her blog here. You won't be sorry!! Her work is awesome, and I've long been an admirer (and stalker)!! Congratulations Wendy, you've earned it and you TOTALLY deserve it! I'm so happy for you my friend:)
I should add a note that SCS is having issues today and it's very slow loading pages. I had to reload at least 5-6 times to open any photos, so you might want to check back later after their issues are resolved.
Have a great Sunday and thanks for stopping by!!

FS139_Clownmom

I made this card for the FS139 challenge which this week is honoring Clownmom aka Lois Bak. I patterned my card after this card in Lois's great gallery. I kept the layout the same, but changed dsp, colors, eliminated the flowers and added a sentiment panel. Instead of a stamped image I added some die cut leaves in keeping with the Autumn theme. I used colors from the Earth Elements family, plus some dsp from a matpack from JoAnne's. (thanks Heidi) I used various colors of Twinkling H20's on the leaves, and added a touch of glitter after they dried. I used a MS fern punch, and an EK rock fern punch and Shapeabilites for the leaves and acorns. The sentiment was done with a KSS stamp in Chocolate Chip, and it was punched using the modern label punch.
Congratulations Lois, this is a well-deserved honor :)

FS134

I played the FS134 challenge this week, and the featured stamper was Darlene Pavlick; otherwise known as akronstamperdpk on SCS. This is the card I chose from her gallery to CASE.
I changed the colors, the ribbon, embossing folder, and the sentiment panel. I used the Victoria embossing folder and swiped the embossed image with a beige ink pad and adhered it to a Prisma Birchtone light cardstock. I used the labels four Nestabilities for the sentiment panel and eliminated 2 layers from Darlene's original card. The sentiment panel is by Verve from the "Because of You" set and was inked with markers and sponged with beige. Ribbon is from Sharon Johnsons ribbon store and the bow was made with the Bow-Easy. Chocolate pearls are by Kaiser.
Wishing you all a great Monday and a great week ahead. Thanks for stopping by :)

FS 133_ Caseing jojot

I couldn't resist playing the SCS FS133 this week, since jojot was the stamper being honored. I've long been an admirer of her work and although I've cased this card before, I wanted to case it again. It's a crisp, clean look with great lines and it's perfect for many occasions and you can do almost any color with the great black and white combination of stripes and polka dots.
For this case I changed the light blue to taken with teal, and changed the ribbon from black & white to teal & white. I replaced the white brads with white dew drops. Other than those subtle changes, I left it pretty much the same. You can see Joanne's awesome work on her blog that's also linked on the sidebar. She creates some gorgeous cards and I love her style of stamping.
Thanks for stopping by today and make it a great day!
