Welcome Baby Girl

A friend of mine needed a baby card for someone expecting a girl, so I made this card for her while she's busy crocheting a baby blanket. Quite a few years ago, a former blogger; Jessi Fogan, sent me an assortment of these beautiful hand-crocheted medallions in a few different sizes and colors. I have treasured them through the years not only because they're beautiful, but also because Jessi is no longer with as she sadly passed at a very young age in 2019. As long as I have some of these hand-made medallions, her memory will never be forgotten. RIP Jessi. You had such a kind and caring heart.
There was one pink one left in the box that I thought would be just perfect for a baby card. I used a 2009 Sweet 'n Sassy stamped image on a snippet of white; then colored it with Copics and glaze pens. I die-cut it into a circle and placed it inside of the medallion. I used a Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder to make the background, and then used an ancient Spellbinders ribbon tag die to cut and layer the sentiment panel from 2 more snippets. I fussy cut the white piece to fit inside the pink piece and attached it with white sheer ribbon, adding 2 punched hearts done with a (r) SU! mini punch and 2 snippets of white pearlized paper. For the final touch and I added 2 pink sequins in the heart centers for a bit of sparkle. The sentiment is from the same Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set as the image..

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Snippets Playground Challenge #483 - must use snippets

https://pixiessnippetsplayground.blogspot.com/2024/06/challenge-483.html

The Retro Rubber Challenge #233 - Use Stamps older than 1 year with this tic tac toe grid

I went diagonal with Die Cut, Summer, and Sequins

The Little Red Wagon Challenge #762 - Layer it Up

It's still incredibly frustrating that blogger will no longer allow me to link these challenge blogs by inserting the text into the actual link. It makes writing up a post more cumbersome than it should have to be. If anyone has a fix, I'd love to hear about it. Some bloggers have mentioned they cannot enlarge their photos anymore, but I found that if you click two times on that image size box, the second click gives you the option to choose a different size.

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Wednesday! Keep smiling, life is good in spite of the hiccups 😉

Today I have a baby card made with a Sweet'n Sassy Cocoa Mouse image that I colored with Copics. I used my Big Shot to cut the image panel with a Gina Marie Designs stitched square die along with the MFT stitched tiny tag done in 2 colors. I added a tiny punched white heart (SU! owl punch) and some twine tied into a bow. The plaid dsp has been in my stash for years and was purchased at QVC.

Baby Boy Card

Today I have a masculine baby card that saved those precious snippets of Lawn Fawn plaid patterned paper from the trash bin. I die-cut 3 stitched squares using a Gina Marie Designs stitched square die set and added 3 white sailboat diecuts from Impression Obsession. I placed them on a white panel, matting with Cool Caribbean and Island Indigo cardstock, then did the background with a SU! square lattice embossing folder. The "Baby" die is from Cottage Cuts and all of those sapphire gemstones are from Pizzazz Aplenty, The twine was from my stash.

I'm entering this into the following challenges :

Also a couple of new challenges I recently discovered.....

Welcome Baby Girl

A sweet friend of mine recently became a first-time grandmother, and I was feeling like a little girl was on the way, but oops! It was a boy! LOL I made this card in anticipation of that new bundle of joy and had to scramble to make a boy card instead! LOL So much for my intuition huh?
I used white and Blushing Bride pink, embossing the background with a SU! Happy Hearts ef, then adding a double panel of the PTI Notched Hearts Banner dies, adding a snippet of ribbon and lots of pink stickles inside the die-cut heart negatives. The baby feet were done with a Quickutz die and placed on a MFT stitched circle die cut, then matted with a SB scalloped circle die cut. Of course I added nail polish to the toes, because it's a girl, right? (or so I thought!)
The sentiment panel was done with a MFT stitched circle die and another SB scalloped circle die, and I added the MFP sentiment stamped in soft grey ink.
I'm sure there will be a little baby girl coming into the world one day soon when I can use this card - hopefully :)

I'm sharing this with the Snippets Playground weeks #271 and 272.

Thanks for dropping by and I wish you a wonderful day.

The heart banner and matching scalloped panel were done with a PTI die set, and the sentiment is from MFP. The background was embossed with a swiss dots ef and I added some pink satin ribbon from my stash.

A Brand New Grandmother

The Tuesday Throwdown #211 this week is "sweet little one." Someone asked me to make a card for a friend of hers that just became a first-time grandmother of a little boy and this is what I came up with.  I used bashful blue and white for the colors. The embossing folder is by SU! and the banner was made of "baby clothes" and banners done with SU! punches. I colored the neutral twine with a Copic marker to match the blue color. The little hearts and star were negatives from die cuts that I save in a tiny jar for embellishments on cards. The congrats sentiment is from SU!, while the Grandma sentiment is from Verve.

So there you have my 2nd post for today. Thanks again for stopping by and make it a wonderful weekend!!

Monochromatic Baby Card

I made this card for a sweet newborn baby boy, and I'm entering it in the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "monochromatic." I made baby blocks to spell out his initials by using some of those alphabet punch-outs I bought years ago for scrapbooking. The added Kaiser pearls indicate the baby's birth date too. The background was done with a Sizzix Curlique ef, and the border was done with a SNSS die with some blue satin ribbon woven through it. The sentiment was done with a dollar store stamp in matching ink.

That's it for now, but have yourself a fine day and thanks for stopping by!

Something New and a Merry Monday

Here's my card for the first 2013 Merry Monday #44 challenge which is to create a Christmas card using the colors of Island Indigo, Pool Party, and Real Red. I used a Lawn Fawn image, coloring with Copics and adding some frosted Stickles for "snow." I mounted on kraft using a long-retired SU! punch to cut the corners. The border was done with a MS Skylands Snowflake punch I got for Christmas. Sentiment by G Studio, embossing from CB snowflake ef, and the ribbon, clip, and mini brads were from my stash. For the final touch I added a dab of liquid applique to the bunny's tiny tail :)

And here's my card for the SNSDC86 which is "something new."  A baby is always something new :) I'm using the digi image Cocoa's Baby Block from SNSS and the image was colored with Copics. I added a SNSS border die, woven with baby blue ribbon and embossed the background with a CB swiss dots ef. For the finishing touch, I added a jewel tag that I wrote "baby" on, and added a snippet of ribbon.

Have a fabulous day today and thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Emily

Today I'm sharing a card I made with a beautiful baby image that my LSS will  be carrying later this month. She's called Emily and this is the large version of the stamp that will soon be available at L&L Stamps in Ephrata, PA. The owner doesn't have a computer or an online store, so I volunteered to help her get the word out by showing you this adorable image. There are several beautiful baby images that will soon be available including boys and girls in large and small sizes. They're ALL precious and beautifully detailed. This baby image is called Emily, but it could easily be used for a boy's baby card and done in blue.

For more information you can call Lorene at 717.355.5115 {NO Sunday calls}. All of these beautiful baby stamps will be available around mid-January, and if you're local to this store, you'll want to check out all of the wonderful stamps yourself!

I colored the image with Copics, and used some Lawn Fawn papers from the Bright Side collection petite paper pack. I made a double bow using white satin ribbon and the bow-easy.

I hope you're having a great Thursday and your new year is getting into full swing by now :)

House Mouse Challenge 114

This is my last entry for the House-Mouse & Friends challenge blog guest designer spot for the month of February, and I've had a wonderful time! Thanks ladies for the invitation to do this - the pleasure has been all mine :)
Lori has given us the challenge this week to create something with "Sugar and spice, and everything nice" or to create a special project for the little girl in your life. Lori is about to welcome a new grandbaby into the world so congratulations are going out to her!
I'm using this adorable image from HM along with a HM sentiment for my card. The coloring was done with Copics, and I used a pink glitter marker to draw a line inside of the dies before cutting. I used a piece of unknown dsp from my stash along with some ribbon and heart brads. The sentiment was done with a SB grommet tag die, and the image panel was done with a SB labels eighteen. The embossing was done with the Sizzix curlique and hearts ef set.
Thanks so much for stopping by today and I wish you all a wonderful week!

Release Party Challenge Cards

During SNSS's recent November release party, there were 3 challenges issued and I found time to finish them all. (Yay!) First up is Taylor's sketch challenge SNSSNOV11RP01. I used some vintage cream cardstock and a scrap of DP, along with a felt snowflake, embossing folder, and some Geo Sparkler stickers for this one.
This card was done for Holly's SNSSNOV11RP02 monochromatic challenge. I used the basic Rhubarb digi image and scraps of pink card stock and dp. I used labels eighteen dies for the image and added a tiny tag with a small pink gemstone, and of course a tiny white satin bow.
And this flowercake digi image was given as a freebie to all who attended the release party. This card was made for Monika's SNSSNOV11RP03 challenge to use 2 dies or punches. I used 2 dies and a punch for this, along with some Viva Decor pearls and glossy accents on the cake image. The dp is by Recollections and the green card stock and ribbon is PTI. The sentiment was computer generated and the embossing was done with a TH/Sizzix damask ef.
That's about it for me today, so thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic weekend everyone!

SNSDC23 Make a Card for Baby

The challenge this week over on the SNSDC is to create a card for baby! I'm using this cute Rhubarb's Blocks image, and I colored the bear pink to make a baby girl card. The background dp is a scrap from my scrapbooking days so I have no idea who makes it, but it sure is cute! I made a frame using labels 2 dies and some DCWV glittered card stock in a pale aqua color that perfectly matches the dp. The pink is by Bazzill and was embossed with the SU! square lattice ef. I added a sheer ribbon bow in pink along with a little pacifier charm that I just love!
I hope you'll find time to grab your digi images and play along with us this week and make something for baby. You don't have to use SNSS digis' but we sure like to see them when you do! Be sure and click the link above to see the amazing creations the SNSDC has created for this challenge! When uploading your cards, please tag with the keyword SNSDC23.
Thanks for stopping by and have a fantastic day!

Welcome Baby

I made a quick card for the SCS SC337 today following Korin's easy sketch. This is a SNS stamp called Welcome Baby and I colored it with Copics. The cardstock and DP is by SU! called blushing bride and I colored the white ric-rac with a Copic marker to match. The heart border was done with an EK punch. Quick and easy, I love when cards go together like this for me!
Thanks for stopping by and have a super Wednesday!

Oh Baby!

I won this stamp in a giveaway at StampersDream.com recently and couldn't wait to use it. It's by La-La Land crafts and oh so cute! I colored this with Copics and added some BG dp and soft gray cardstock. The ribbon was gifted to me by Heidi, and I used an EK zig-zag chain punch to create the ric-rac which I layered on top of the ribbon with some 1/4" Scor-tape. The sentiment was computer generated and inserted into the bow with another tiny piece of Scor-tape. I lightly sponged the image with Blush Blossom ink while it was still in the die.
It's going to be a wonderful day here in PA with highs around 75, so I hope to get out and about for a while to enjoy it! Have a wonderful Friday and thanks for stopping by!

Babies are Sweet!

I needed to make a baby card recently, so I'm entering this into the House Mouse challenge #71 where they're going sweet. I know most folks think of sugary treats and candy when it comes to sweet, but babies are sweet too, right?!
This was a stamped image my friend Heidi sent to me a while ago, so all I had to do was color and embellish it. I colored it with Tombows and a damp brush, and layered it with Pink Pirouette. I was hoarding one precious piece of that beautiful pink cardstock, but now that SU! is bringing that color back again, I felt safe cutting into it for this card :) The quilted DP is from an unknown pack of DP from the $1 store. The sentiment is from a $1 G studio stamp set and was also colored in with Tombows. The ribbon and safety pin were from my stash. I added some white glaze pen to the baby blocks for interest.
Thanks for stopping by on this Tuesday and I wish you a happy day!

SSNOTIME #125

Sharon's stamp simply challenge #125 this week is to make something with baby in mind. I made this quick and easy card using a retired SU! set that included this heart image. I just stamped them in random fashion using my stamp-a-ma-jig to line them up. I pulled out all of my mini ink pads to do each heart a different color. I did some random piercing to connect them and matted it with pretty in pink that I punched using an EK mini scalloped border punch. The card stock and ribbon are from PTI, and the sentiment is from G Studio. Super quick and easy!
We're bracing for over a foot of snow here in PA, so stay warm wherever you are and have a great weekend! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we don't lose power since the Shoot-out race kicks off the NASCAR season tomorrow! I'm so ready for some racing again!!

Baby Blue Onsie

Happy Saturday Everyone!
Here's a card I made for a friend who will be attending a baby shower for a soon-to-be-born little boy. Sorry about the wonky photo - I just couldn't get it right for some reason. I love making these onsie cards! Everyone seems to enjoy them and they're so much fun to create.
I used some of my very favorite all-time {retired and hoarded} cardstock - Cool Caribbean. The little "snaps" were created by using a 1/4" punch on the cardstock, and then adding a dab of liquid glass and allowing it to dry. I've begun using this method so that the cards don't require extra postage, as they often do when using brads. The trim for the legs, armholes and collar was a sheet of printed copy paper someone gave to me. The print was pale blue, tiny, and delicate enough for this card. I used the scallop punch, the circle punches, and the Nestabilites to create the image panel and trims. The stamp is from So Many Scallops.
I hope you're having nice weather wherever you are. Today we're enjoying spring-like temperatures and tomorrow we may hit 70! I'm SO ready! A little reminder - don't forget to move your clocks forward one hour before bedtime tonight! Thanks for stopping by as always:)
