Congratulations & One for the Kiddos

My friend asked me to make her a "Congratulations" card for her nephew who made the dean's list, so this is the card I came up with. I used Kaiser dsp, a SimonSaysStamp hexagon die, and a KSS sentiment stamp. I'll be entering this into the Simon Says Stamp Bingo challenge as well as the Art Impressions stamps #75 challenge to use "any sentiment." Here's the bingo grid for the SSS challenge...

I chose the center horizontal line and used a Die Cut, "free square" and glitter. I glittered the brads by dipping them into a versamark ink pad, and then dipping them into red glitter embossing powder.

This card was made for 2 challenges. This cute digi image is from Saturated Canary and you can find the details to d/l this cute image right here. I made this card for the Saturated Canary Challenge #23 with a theme of the "great outdoors." I also used the colors from the CR84FN60 to use the colors of grape, green, and blue.

I used strips of assorted dsp and did the herringbone technique for the background, embossing it with a plaid ef to add a bit more texture. The image was colored with Copics, and the sentiment was computer generated. A sequin star was added to his hat, and a few ribbon snippets later, this was done!

Thanks so much for stopping by today - I wish you all a fabulous Friday!

A Sketchy Easel Card

I used the above sketch from the Fetch A Sketch challenge #28 for my card.

I used a beautiful Hero Arts stamp set that I won from Simon Says Stamp recently to create the flower and stamped panels. I went with Electric Blue, Bashful Blue, silver and white for my color scheme. The flower was stamped 3 times with Versarmark and embossed with silver ep, cut out & popped up on foam tape for dimension. The scalloped circle was die cut from silver metallic card stock, but the camera doesn't pick up that shine very well. The bottom panel was stamped with Ballet Blue on bashful blue card stock, and I added some silver beads here and there, as well as to the center of the flower.

Here's the open view of this easel card that I combined with the above sketch  for the Art Impressions Stamp challenge #71. Their challenge is to create an easel card, or a card with more than one fold. For the bottom panel, I embossed with silver ep on electric blue card stock, adding a SB fancy tags two die cut with a SU! sentiment. I added 2 large silver brads to the ends, and popped this up on foam tape to hold the card open. I used a CB swiss dots ef for the white panel and some ribbon from my stash.

Thanks for stopping by and happy stamping everyone!

Christmas Deer with a Jingle Bell

I played along with a new-to-me challenge I recently discovered over at the Art Impressions Stamp blog. The challenge is #70 and it's to use a metal accent on your card.
I don't own any Art Impression stamps yet, so I'm using a SU! Christmas Deer image which was embossed with winter wonderland ep on black card stock.  The antlers were dotted with Viva pearl pen accents. I added a tiny metal jingle bell with silver cording around the deer's neck. The image and frame were done with SB square dies in black & white with a kraft card base, and the sentiment is from SU! Heard from the Heart set.
I'm also entering this card in the OWH Stars & Stamps mid-week throwdown which is Christmas/winter in July.
Thanks so much for stopping by today - I wish you all a very happy Wednesday!
