Printer Misfit Halloween Card

Has anyone ever run into an issue like this? I turned my printer on to print something, and it printed 3 or 4 sheets like this until I just turned it off in frustration! I've been flipping them over, cutting them in 4ths and using them for scratch paper and then I decided to use some of the pieces to make a card. Why not? I'm pretty sure it's nothing anyone else has! LOL I have no clue how to resolve this other than buying a new printer!

So this is the card I made with these goofy papers. I stamped a Brutus Monroe spiderweb image on a snippet of gray cardstock and added an orange spider, stamped in black and covered with orange and white glaze pens. I always have strips of black cardstock on my table as I use that color often, so I just went around the square with those strips and then filled in the spaces with pieces of this oddball printed paper. I added a SSS pre-printed sentiment on a snippet of lavender cardstock and added a green candy dot.

I'm entering this one-of-a-kind Halloween card into these challenges:

The Alphabet Challenge - M is for Monochrome

OK, that's it for me on this Tuesday but I hope you're all having a great day. Thanks for stopping by, it's always nice to have you visit :)

I'm no help with the problem Carol but doesn't it make a great background for a mono card and then the little splash of orange on the spider.

WOW!!!! Such happy accident!!! :D Absolutely stunning pages, love them! Really! :D Print a little pad of them before fixing the issue! :D LOL
Very WELL DONE on using that paper for a card, and such FABULOUS card!! You are a very clever lady!! Perfect for Halloween with that fabulous design and the spiderweb centrepiece!! The orange spider is so cute! :) I think you could win some challenges with this card! :)
However I have had the same problem years ago, it didn't depend by the printer, but by the page I wanted to print that was not compatible.
There are some possibilities to fix this issue without buy a new printer! Please see here!

Sending big hugs and hope to see that paper used again! You could try to ink a stamp and press it directly on it!
Have a lovely creative day!

What a brilliant use of the random papers which your printer is giving you. I'd have probably just used them as scrap for scribbling notes or even thrown them into the recycling in disgust 😉. Hope the problem resolves itself

I love the crazy and fun print of that paper! A definite plus even though it's not what you wanted to come out of the printer! CUTE card design using the strips of black too. Love it and it's a fun card for Halloween.

Oh wow! That turned out to be a really cool effect with the papers!! It's perfect for a spooky Halloween card for sure!! I don't think I've ever ran into an issue like that before, but I'm not sure I could attempt it either! LOL Love the way you've designed them for your card too! So fun!

Well this is amazing! What a brilliant idea to use these printer mishaps! Now I'll be thinking of doing that if this ever happens to my printer. So far all I get is the print test, haha. Your card is adorable although I do not like spiders. Wishing you a blessed day, my friend. I just said a little prayer for you.

Hi Carol - it's great to see the 'fractured card' technique taking care of your weird printer output. First of all - I love the card - great use of snippets of course. Next, as Alice says, don't ditch the printer - it can be host of thing as the link outlines. I guess you have tried printing a different file just in case the file you were using is somehow corrupted? Good luck!

Oh, my! Sorry to hear about your printer problems! You put the papers to great use on your Halloween card, though! Love the strips and spider in the center! Fun card, Carol, well done!

So sorry about the printer issues but WOW this is awesome, Carol! You know the saying....there is a reason for everything and so your printer was trying to tell you that you needed to make more Halloween cards apparently! LOL I have seen so many cards made recently with this technique but haven't tried it yet. I love that the paper creates a spooky kind of message and then you put the spider web in the center. Such a great idea! You rocked this challenge, my friend! Love it!

What a great laugh, problem with the printer resulting in a monochromatic card, with a spider's web and of course a spider. How much fun is that? Thanks for sharing with us at Alphabet Challenges. Caz. DT.

Well, you made lemonade out of that lemon of a printer messup! What a cool way to create your own DSP even if it was unintentional! Great save!

Great way to make use of your printer misfit! Super card.

OMGosh, that is so weird, but what cool backgrounds this printing made! Wonder what made your printer print something like this?! But again, how cool it looks and is perfect for Halloween or masculine cards! I love this faux shutter card, it is fun and festive and a little spooky with the way the printer made this paper. LOL I love it! Wish I had an answer for you about why the printer did this, but I don't. I bet if you wanted more of it for cards, it wouldn't do it though. LOL Such mysteries! Now I want my printer to make me some backgrounds like this. LOL Hugs, Brenda
