While trying so hard to part ways with crafty items I've had for years, I discovered an old Sizzix fold-over die called Flower Burst that I pulled from the cobwebs to make this card. I still have a plastic bag of left over snippets of 3 retired "In" colors of SU! paper that I just can't seem to toss away. One color is Wild Wasabi, and one is Groovy Guava but I can't remember the name of the other one. I cut the flowers, and used a SU! Bouquet Bunch set of dies to create the greenery. The stenciled background was done with a ARTplorations Gridlocked stencil and some Abandoned Coral oxide ink. I used another Sizzix (SU!) foldover die to cut the tiny butterfly and added a pink gemstone to the body and hand-drew the antennae. The ladybug was made with a MB die and the sentiment is by Sweet 'n Sassy from a stamp set called Poppies and Greetings from 2009. For the final touch I added 3 tiny black gemstones to the centers of each flower. Sometimes everything old is new again.
I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and thanks so much for stopping by today!

It's nice finding forgotten goodies as we usually see them in a totally different light. I am sure you friend will love her card and all the pretty elements.

I don't think you should get rid of any of those older items used in the making of this lovely card. I don't recall seeing the floral folding die but have the butterfly one which comes into use now and then. Wild Wasabi was my favourite green SU card and I was sorry to see it go.
I just loved Groovy Guava and I am so happy to see it here! Not sure what your other color might be...perhaps Riding Hood Red? Whatever, those blooms are gorgeous, the "3D-ness" of them really makes them stand out! Keep that folder!
Beautiful card Carol, isn't it lovely to discover some forgotten stash. xx
This is gorgeous, the older things are mostly great. I only have old stamps and dies, I don't use them so much these days, but they are all still good to use and reuse! Hugs, Valerie
Oh Carol ... this is just GORGEOUS! Love the dimension and your OLD SU colors (of which I also still have in my stash) are fabulous! GREAT JOB! Thanks so much for joining in the fun at our Four Seasons and Triple B Challenges! Don't forget, you used a stencil so this card also qualifies for the STENCIL FUN challenge ... link is below my name. Good Luck and we hope you’ll come back again soon.

Lol, I had all these dies, Carol, what a fabulous find! And these colors really take me back, too - gorgeous! Thanks so much for playing at Retro Rubber!
I’m very glad you didn’t take those old Sizzix dies out of your stash during your purges, because they’re gorgeous! I have never heard about Sizzix foldover. The shape and embossing make those flowers really special, as well the colours! The sweet stencilled background and the butterfly are beautiful details to compliment the wonderful flowers and that ladybug is just perfect to add wishes for a birthday! :)
Weekend wishes and hugs for happy times also on YOUR way, dear friend! Enjoy your Summer the most you can! :)
Such a beautiful card, Carol! Love the background stencil but those flower blooms just steal the show! Love the embossed petals and the colors! So glad you used the older stuff...that just makes me smile! Your ladybug is adorable as well! I'm hoping since we both used ladybugs that they both bring us lots of luck! Wonderful card, my friend.
Wow, your fold over die made stunning flowers. I think it's a keeper and this card is lovely. Adding the cute ladybug is sweet.
Those flowers are knock dead gorgeous - and so is your card! WOW! I love the addition of the butterfly and tiny lady bug too. So pretty and a beautiful card!

What a super fun card. Thanks so much for sharing this with us at The Four Seasons and please stop by again soon.
Wow, I love this card Carol, love those flowers! How fun are they?!! I understand all to well about having a hard time letting go of crafty things and beautiful papers. I struggle with that myself! Those are some older colors and how fun that you still have left over snippets-perfect for this card! I love the little ladybug, how cute is she?!! I also love the little butterfly too. Your faux brick wall is perfect for your flowers to "lean" against. A fabulous CAS card!!! I hope you survived those nasty storms that came through with no damage or mishaps!!! Hugs, Brenda
What beautiful blooms and the colors are so pretty with them! I love the faint stenciled brick behind them and your little ladybug over the stems! Very nicely done!
I have never heard of fold over dies before so intrigued as to how they work. Resulting card with the flowers is beautiful. Thankyou for coming and playing in the butterfly garden with me. I have found quite a few ladybirds playing in there this past week amongst the flowers. Hugs Mrs A.
OH! What wonderful realistic flowers Carol, a gorgeous card.
