With Father's day approaching very soon, I decided to start working on those cards and here's the first one I came up with. I used snippets of grey and white cardstock to make the panels along with some die-cut blue water and a notched border. Since I don't have many options for Father's Day sentiments, I printed this digital ticket sentiment and colored it in with matching markers. The lower embossed panel was a snippet of grey, done with a Spellbinders M-bossabilities folder that I've had for a long time. I sponged on some Pumice Stone ink to darken the shoe prints a wee bit. The upper panel was a snippet of white cardstock that I covered with a piece of aluminum foil and embossed with a Cuttlebug diamond plate ef. The blue notched border was done with a MFT die, while the watery waves were done with a SNSS die. The person this is intended for loves the water and still works, so I thought all the elements would work.
I'll share this with the following challenges:
The Snippets Playground Challenge #455 -must use snippets
Can You Handle the Pressure? - A/G with embossing *optional twist - birds
the Allsorts Challenge #730 - Use a stencil or alternative A/G
The Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - add a sentiment
On May 29th we celebrate Memorial day not only as summer begins, but mainly to remember our fallen heroes who gave their lives for our freedom. We should never forget that all gave some; while some gave all. Freedom comes with a cost. Heartfelt thanks to those who served and to those who continue to serve. May God bless you all.
Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Thanks for submitting your homework to the SNIPPETS PLAYGROUND. Come up to the treehouse to find out what illicit goodies I have inside my satchel while Miss Di isn’t looking! x

Such a great Father's Day card, Carol! I love all the elements you used especially that embossing folder! Love that you highlighted the boots on it to stand out, too! I remember that trick of using aluminum foil on white cardstock & embossing it! So cool! Loved your ending about Memorial Day. Heartfelt thanks to all who served and continue to serve. Hope your enjoying this nice stretch of weather we've been having!
It's a perfect Father's Day card.

So nicely done and loving the texture on the background! Thanks so much for sharing at Allsorts challenge this week!
Great Father's Day card Carol! Love the embossed panels - the top one is always super for male cards, it reminds me of tyre tread marks!

That is such a fun masculine card! The texture from the background and the fun ticket sentiment is great with it! I'm loving that bit of sparkle for your wavy border too! Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
What a fun Father's Day card! I love those two embossing folders used together, such a fabulous idea! The ticket makes it a perfect place to put your sentiment. Love this! Yes, everyone thinks that Memorial Day is the official start to summer, but it is so much more than that. It is to honor the soldiers who gave all, we must remember them as it is them who fought for our freedoms! Hugs, Brenda
Super textures and a great father's day card.
I lost this post, I don't know why. Very well done with your snippets, it's a perfect masculine card and I'm sure that the recipient will love it as you personalized it! :) Thanks for the idea of covering a piece of white cardstock with foil and than embossing, it looks really as metal with that beautiful EF! Also the bottom panel looks great with the footprints and the ticket with the sentiment pops very well. Beautiful design!
Hugs, love and positive thoughts to you, dear fiend! Have fabulous days ahead!
I'm still thinking at your wonderful experience! :)
Great card, Carol.
I always remember on Memorial day. I lost a classmate in the Vietnam war! He was the nicest person. And same thing with one of my neighbors who was also the nicest guy.( Both died way too young!) With having a husband who swerved in the military and a grandson who is now in the military. I never forget!
