I made time to make another card by using up many strips of paper lying on my desk for quite a while. I adhered matching strips to a scrap of white in a herringbone design; then die-cut the panel with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle. I die-cut the card base as well. The sentiment panel was done with a Spellbinders labels die, and I added random silver and white stems found in my snippets box. I added a layered punched mini flower. The sentiment was die-cut 3 times and stacked, then covered with glossy accents for a little shine. I added 3 large rhinestones and a smaller one to the flower center and called this one done.

Either I've forgotten how to center text on my blog, or blogger has done away with it because I can no longer do it the way I've done it for years. The new year will bring many more changes along with it I'm sure :)

Your herringbone designs are famous, dear Carol :) I always admire them for their accuracy and harmony of patterns. This one isn't an exception, love the papers you used and the beautiful grey one adds sweetness and a feminine feel to the black&white! Love also the little stems with the cute bi-colour flower peeking out from the pretty label and the big gloss sentiment. Well done with the three little gems that add light to the composition and move the eyes around.

I really like how you have used the frame dies on your strips. Gives a lovely finished look and the added die flowers make for a super card. Hugs Mrs A.
p.s. Iconstantly try and make as many sheets of strips as I can so I am off to look in my box and see if they are big enough to use a frame on them.

Great to see you posting another beautiful card, Carol! I really love the black & white with pops of silver! This technique is definitely your signature card! Love it! Yes, I have noticed the blogger format was wonky the other day but last night it was back to normal when I updated my blog. I sure hope they soon let things be. I hate change! And I also wanted to say that I too had the same problem with the comments pop up recently where I had to moderate comments from years ago?! So werid! I am sure blogger is up to changing something. *sigh*

Hello, Carol! So nice to see a card from you, and it is a beauty! I've only tried the herringbone pattern one time, but I hvae so many scraps that I should try it again. I like the added flowers and leaves too! I'm very happy to see you crafting I have been thinking about you and praying for you. I so love when you take your snippets and make a background with them Carol! I love this card, it had elegance to it, I guess it is the black and white color combo. I always think black and white is so elegant. The papers you used are so pretty and work so well in this design. Love the big label die and the sentiment on it. I always enjoy seeing your herringbone cards. I am so happy that you had showed me how to do this. My granddaughter started making some more Iris folding cards and was getting a bit tired of making them...but she had cut so many strips. I showed her one of your cards, and I think she's going to try and making one of the herring bone cards too.
