I've always loved the rose from this older Gina K Designs Stately Flowers 6 stamp set, so I decided to pull the set from the cobwebs and make a card with it. I stamped the rose on white cardstock, coloring with Copics and stenciled one side with a Tim Holtz stencil and some antique linen ink. I added some red smooch drops and a pre-printed Simon Says Stamp sentiment on a strip of black cardstock and called this one done!
I'll share this with the following challenges:
*Optional - use Halloween colors (This is their 1st challenge!)
the Flower Challenge #73 - use a sentiment
They're also celebrating their 6th birthday
(must use stamps older than a year)
my stamp set is from 2013

Beautiful card Carol. I like the way you have grounded the stem of the rose behind the sentiment banner. Hugs Mrs A.
Yes, that rose is just gorgeous and the coloring you've done is so pretty! I really love the faded look of the stencil running into the rose and your little bits of red smooch drops around it too! Beautifully done my friend!
It's a very beautiful rose, you made so well pulling it out from cobwebs! :D Fabulous colouring and love so much how it matches with the stones wall stencil!! I always forget how elegant and sweet is antique linen colour, thanks for remembering this to me! :) The long black stripe with the sentiment is just perfect to hide the begin of the stem and catch the eyes!! Another well done with simple but so effective cards, you are very talented (I well know it, but you surprise me every time with your designs!!)
Hugs and take care dear friend!!
Oh my, Carol, this card is gorgeous! That rose is colored beautifully and I love the background stencil! It makes for one amazing birthday card!! Love, love, love! TFS Have a wonderful day! :)
It's a beauty! Nothing prettier than a single rose. Love the stenciling on the side too.

Gorgeous rose and your coloring is lovely. The shading is perfect and I like the stenciling. The Congrats sign is right up my alley. This is funny and better that they do use congrats!

Hi Carol, I'm back! lol Thanks for missing me. Your card is gorgeous!!! I love that rose too and you have colored it up to perfection my friend. Your stenciled stone wall is gorgeous too, I think I need this one. lol Had to chuckle at the sign you saw while driving. I'm lazy and always say Congrats, but not because I can't spell it but rather that I'm lazy to spell it. lol The more I look the one below, the more it makes sense to me. lol Hugs, Brenda
