Birthday Card

I made this card for my SIL late last year and unfortunately we lost her in March of this year. The gray designer paper was from a magazine and the polka dot paper was from my stash. The white stem is a die-cut from Darice and the little flowers were done with retired SU! mini punches and layered, with some black gemstones in the centers. The pre-printed sentiment is from Simon Says Stamp.
I've not been posting or creating for a while as I've come down with some sort of respiratory crud that has me coughing and quite uncomfortable most of the time. My husband had it, and then passed it on to me. He's doing well, but so far the antibiotics haven't kicked in for me yet. Turns out our neighbor came down with it yesterday and his toddler grandson has been diagnosed with pneumonia, so whatever it is, it knocks you for a loop!
Anyway, I just wanted to explain why I haven't made any new cards for a while, so I pulled this one from my unposted files to share with you.
Take good care everyone and thanks for stopping by!

Carol

Oh Carol, I hope you soon shake this cold! It seems like so many illnesses are going around recently! Kelsey was at Urgent care 2 weeks ago with a nasty stomach bug that seems to be going around her work. I hope & pray that your meds soon kick in for you and in the meantime please continue to rest & push fluids. The older we get the harder it is to kick this stuff. Your card is every bit of beautiful in those colors! I love the diecut and your punched flowers! Thoughts & prayers along with lots of get well wishes!

Oh no! I'm very sorry to hear this! Dear Carol, hope that antibiotics kick in and you feel a bit better quickly!! Also here there were a lot of people with a bad cough... Doctors have visited you? Perhaps you could do some aerosol to help with breathing?
This card for your SIL is amazing and so sweet. That patterned papers add a lot of elegance to the lovely stem with the flowers and the grey one is really fabulous, you always have a very good eye about cards designs with papers! And I'm sure your SIL has loved your card very much. The sentiment is so touching...
Sending my prayers on your way for a quickly recovery! Please, take a lot of care of you!! BIG hugs!!!

You have been quiet and I'm glad to know what's going on, Carol, although sorry to hear you and hubby have been ill. I'm sure it's a relief that he's mended and I hope you are able to recover very soon. Nothing worse than a persistent cough. Your card for your late SIL is beautiful! (I'm sorry for your loss.) I love all the exquisite details. Huge hugs, Darnell

This is a beautiful birthday card Carol, I'm just so sorry that you won't be able to sent it to your SIL now. I sure hope you are feeling better by now...I'd hate for you to get pneumonia too! I remember a year back in the 80's when everyone was getting pneumonia, myself included. Babies, young children, adults....it was rampant that year! I miss a little over a month of work, nasty stuff! I sure hope your neighbor's grandson is all healed up now too! Hugs, Brenda
