An Anniversary Card for my Husband

Today my husband and I are celebrating our 53rd wedding anniversary and I made this card for him. I started with a dark brown card base, adding some beautiful white textured paper from SSS. The Impression Obsession wooden heart is brand new - a gift I selected as a prize from winning the Dies R Us Challenge recently. How lucky was I 😄
I die-cut both layers from SU! woodgrain papers and added a little arrow and die-cut heart where I stamped the number in the center in white. The "Love you" is an older die from SSS and that's all this card needed. My husband doesn't like fussy things but I think he'll enjoy this.
I hope you all had a blessed Christmas and got to spend time with friends and family.
We spent half our Christmas day in the ER with my husband being sick and unable to eat. Turns out he has gallstones as well as an infection, so he's not enjoying the holidays much this year, but he's home and doing better today, thank goodness!

Of course I'm going to enter this into the Dies R Us Challenge #183 where the challenge is to use any dies that the Dies R Us store sells.

I'll also enter this into the NBUS Challenge #33 with this brand new wooden heart image.

Thanks for stopping by and I do wish you a wonderful day and a great week ahead as well.

Carol

How sweet and striking card you made for him!!!!Great way to celebrate a life together! Absolutely delightful double wooden heart and the design looks really adorable with the arrow and the tiny red heart with the anniversary number!! Also the diecut sentiment looks great on the faux wood-grain paper! Very well done!!
Biggest heartfelt hugs ever!! Take care of you both!

Oh my goodness where does the time go, it doesn't seem so long ago I wishing you both a Happy Anniversary and here I am doing the same once again... I think your card is beautiful in its simple yet effective design, it says everything you need it to convey in a masculine way. This is possibly one of my favourite cards you've made.

I wish both of you a wonderful and well Anniversary, 53 years is a remarkable milestone... congratulations.

Fingers crossed hubby is on the road to recovery x

OMGosh, I hope by now Butch is feeling somewhat better?! Gallstones are no joke! I dealt with them the entire time I was pregnant with Ryan. I was always sick & in pain. I had it taken out a month after I delivered. I had so many attacks and stayed in the hospital for 10 days afterwards due to infection. Did he have surgery to remove it?
So sorry your dealing with this but your anniversary card is just so perfect, Carol! I love the masculine feel to it with the EF, wood papers and those hearts! The embossed number of years makes it so personal and what a fabulous touch! Well done, my friend & Happy belated Anniversary! TFS
I'll be keeping you & Butch in my thoughts & prayers and hope for a good outcome. Hugs~
