While sorting through my paper stash, I found a book I bought back in my scrapbooking days that contained several pieces of coordinating dsp. I pulled out a black piece and a grey piece and made a birthday card for my SIL which I'll post later; but with the remaining pieces of those papers I made 3 Christmas cards.
Up first is this one with a Newton's Nook image, colored with Copics and enhanced with Wink of Stella for a little shimmer. I added some liquid applique to his hat and a strip of silver sparkly washi tape to the side and finished it with a SSS pre-printed sentiment.
Using the same papers and image with a different design, I made a 2nd card.
Last but not least, I made a 3rd card, doing some scoring on the side and adding an ornament done with a (r) SU! punch, some red mirror card, and a little strip of sparkly silver dsp to dangle it from the top. I used a CB ef for the image panel and tied a piece of silver cord into a bow, placing it on top of the ornament. All the sentiments on my cards are pre-printed ones from Simon Says Stamp. I don't know that I've made too many black and white Christmas cards before, but I like how these turned out.
I'm entering the last card into the Snippets Playground Challenge #416- use your snippets
and since Di (who runs the Snippets Playground) is doing a guest design for the Christmas Kickstart Challenge #56 - (use Christmas Snippets) I'll enter it over there too.
Thanks for stopping by and I really need to get my Christmas cards made before Christmas is upon us. Time's just whizzing by it seems!
Have a great weekend and take care!

They both are so cute and I love that you used non traditional colors, Carol! Way to use up those papers, too! I too have been dragging my feet with making Christmas cards this year! I have made some over the last few months but not many. I need to get started as I am almost done with Christmas treats! 35 days away from Christmas...Accck! It's coming quick! TFS and wishing you a happy day! Hugs~

Newton looks so cute with his candy cane and a terrific way to use up the scraps. A great combination of papers and I love the mirror ornament card.
Aww Newton, I love this kitty and he looks awesome combined with the patterned papers and his dark paws. On your second card I love that pop of red for the bauble, it really does stand out with a simple colour scheme x
Beautiful cards, Carol. I love the colour combo you've chosen and the lovely papers too. Thanks for playing at Christmas Kickstart with Di and Me, Jo x
Hi again! :)
That Newton's cat is delightful and so fun, and your black&white designs give him justice!! Wow! Very elegant and impressive both the versions! You founded in your stash such amazing paper block, great use of the remaining snippets! The silver washi tape matches the papers so well and love also the last card with the scoring and the beautiful shining ornament!! Your cards are all classy and festive!
Sending good vibes and prayers on your way!!! Biggest hugs ever!

Happy Tuesday, Carol!
I am loving these cards Carol, those papers you found are marvelous! The kitten with the candy cane image is just darling and perfect on top of these papers. Gosh I am so loving these papers! The last card is so pretty too, the ornament punch in the mirror paper is so pretty, it gives that pop of color that makes this card so striking. I think these cards have an elegance about them and I just love them in the black and white with a little color! Hugs, Brenda
What a great use of snippets, I like making multiples in one sitting but haven’t tried using it all up at once, makes total sense when you consider you know it all goes together and everything is right there, inspired. Hugs, amanda x
Happy Thanksgiving.
When something is super-mega cute, I like to describe it as being "squeal-worthy" (as in, squealing over its adorableness). This ultra darling Christmas card is most definitely squeal-worthy, while also blending sweetness and oodles of festive elegance superbly.
