Twofer #37 - Leaves

The Twofer Challenge #37 for April is "leaves" and I found time to play along this month. I pulled out an older favorite Hero Arts stamp set to create my cards using a leaf from the set.

I used a snippet of Wild Wasabi cardstock and stamped the leaves with Versafine ink, then heat-embossed them with gold and fussy-cut them. The flower is by SU! called Blended Bloom, and I also gold-embossed that image and colored it with Copics. The dsp is by SU! and the sentiment is a SSS pre-printed one. I added some black sequins and added a drop of black Nuvo drops to cover the holes in the centers.

I'm also entering this card into:

For the second card, I used that leaf stamp to create a border with a snippet of raspberry cardstock I found in my stash. I heat embossed the images with white ep and also white embossed a black panel with a smaller stamp that mirrors the larger leaves and flowers in the set. I broke open a brand new stamp set from Lawn Fawn called "So Owlsome" that I received last year as a gift and made a little thank-you card for a teacher. The set has matching dies so I  cut the glasses from matching cardstock and finished it with Copics and a sentiment from the set. The final touch was 3 tiny heart accents at the bottom.

Since this is the first time I used this Lawn Fawn stamp and matching die set, I'm also entering it here:

Thanks so much for the visit, I always love to hear from you and hope everyone is doing well in this chaotic world we're living in.
Take care of one another :)

Two FABULOUS cards Carol and I'm loving the leaf stamp you used on both cards!! Your birthday card is beautiful and your coloring awesome...lovely, lovely card!! And your teacher thank you card is just as sweet as can be with that ADORABLE little owl with the pink glasses! Love how you made your own dsp with the leaf stamp for the wide strip on the side of the card too! Thank you so much for sharing both these beauties with us at The Twofer Challenge Carol!! :0)

Two fabulous cards for the Twofer Challenge, Carol. For a minute I thought you'd forgotten to use the same leaf stamp, but then realised you'd used it to make the background on the lovely owl card. Very clever. xx

There are so many clever ideas in this challenge. That flower is stunning and beautifully coloured. The leaves make a perfect border for your wise owl. I like that white on black look too, very brave to try that. Alison Twofer GD

You've created two different designs with one elegant and the other adorable and I love them both, Carol! Your coral and peach birthday card is so pretty and feminine and I love the embossed leaves. As I always say, your use of pp never fails to inspire me! And that little owl wearing glasses is such a hoot! (Sorry, I couldn't resist!) The orchid and black with pops of green on a gray base is a color combo I want to remember. The white heat-embossing ties them all together perfectly! Thank you for playing in TCC #37 and for sharing with everyone at NBUS! Hugs, Darnell

Jill popping back in with a quick note. I had forgotten that you had some of those stamped images too. I think that is the place that Jim got that image. Oh how I miss stamping with a friends. We had so much fun didn't we?
