This rose was made with a piece of dsp from the DCWV black & white paper pad. I colored the rose and leaves with Copics; heat-embossed it with clear embossing powder, and then fussy cut it. I found the pink punched border (done with a MS doily punch) in my snippet box and heat-embossed a couple black snippets of cardstock with an Anna Griffin ef, and popped the rose on top. The polka dot background is yet another piece from that DCWV black & white paper pad, and I finished this with a SU! sentiment (cut crooked again - sigh 😕) and some pink and black Nuvo dots for sparkle.
I used the Paper Players Sketch Challenge PP534 to make this card so I'll enter it over there.
Now that I'm finished making Easter cards, it's time to move onto the next occasion which is our traditional Mother's day - the first Sunday in May. It will be here before we know it!
Thanks for stopping by and make it a great Monday!

A gorgeous card Carol, love the paper and design and the colours.
Our Mother's Day in the UK was originally linked to religion, but has since lost a lot of its connections to the church and is mainly a family day. However it always falls on the fourth Sunday during the period of Lent. So much earlier than yours and a different date each year.
Keep safe

Beautiful flower Carol and a great card. Lovely embossed strips and pretty colour combo with the gorgeous pink added. xx
Carol, you have always a lot of fabulous ideas to use the DCWV black & white paper pad! I have the same paper pad, very neglected, so thanks so much for the good inspirations!:) The rose is so lovely with that pale pink border and the two embossed little panels! I have had no notice about the sentiment imperfection if you haven't said about it. For me this card is just perfect!!
Hugs and love, take care and be strong!
Gorgeous card, Carol! I love that pretty flower against the embossed black panels! Love the sketch, too! :)

A great Mother's Day card Carol!
I love your layout and the great background you have created for that really pretty rose.
Love Jules xx
So striking with the bright pop of pink set against the black embossed panels. The flower is blooming gorgeous and I do like how you use patterned papers, they terrify me but I do have loads from my scrapbooking days... perhaps I should take inspiration from you and try to use them :) x
This card is really pretty!
Your pretty pink rose looks beautiful against your combination of black and white background papers Carol. Thanks for sharing with us over at The Paper Players this week!
