Valentine Heart

I have another Valentine to share today - made with the colors of red, white, black and gray. The background was done with a Sunny Studios tiny hearts embossing folder and I used 3 strips of dsp snippets cut into fishtail banners. The large heart was die cut in white along with some red polka dot dsp, exchanging the dsp negatives into the white. Yep, it's tedious to swap all those tiny negatives, but I love the finished look. The smaller white heart is part of the heart die so I used a tiny valentine's day stamp greeting that I found at a yard sale probably 5 or more years ago. I think it's by SU! but I'm not sure. I like it because it's small enough to stamp inside a tiny heart. I used a SNSS heart border punch to create the 3 randomly placed hearts on the card.

I'm sharing this with the following challenges:

The Retro Rubber Challenge #151 - use only red, white, black & grey

The Little Red Wagon Challenge #587 - use hearts on your project

We've had snow here in PA since Sunday and I thought it was done, but I woke up this morning with more flurries and it's been "flurrying" for 2 solid hours already.  We got about a foot of snow so far and did I hear another storm is heading our way late next week?  LOL

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Carol

What a wonderful card, Carol!! I know you love to puzzle piece scraps of paper and let me say, this is beautiful! I love the colors, the embossed panel and most of all that diecut heart! Great job on the challenge...you nailed it! I seen too where we may get another snow storm next week and i'm praying it does not happen! We got around a foot too here in York County and I think I speak for myself, my hubby & the dogs....we are so over winter! LOL And that groundhog that predicted 6 more weeks of winter, well, I hope he is wrong! Stay safe, stay warm and keep on stampin, my friend! Hugs~

Excellent! Love the card but especially the heart. Beautifully done. Just finished several die cut projects and I can agree this type of crafting is time consuming but worth it.

Love, Hugs and Blessings,
Jim

Such a pretty embossing folder! I like the way you've added so much texture to your card. Inlaying the red into the heart - time consuming but so worth the result! Thanks for joining in with us at Retro Rubber Challenge.

A fabulous Valentine card Carol, a pretty embossed background and wonderful heart - well worth the effort of paper piecing all of those little pieces.

What a fabulous Valentine, love the embossed background, your pattern papers and the design, but that heart steals the show, WOW!! it was a labor of love to fill in all of those paper pieces, not only because they are so small but they also have different shapes.
Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful card with us at RETRO RUBBER.
Stay healthy and safe.

What a lovely Valentine!! A beautiful pieced heart!! And, how sweet is the heart within the heart with the sentiment!! More snow heading for us in NW Ohio, but only 1-2 inches. We got about 6 inches last week. Sounds like you got a lot more than us. Stay safe and warm, take care!!

Wow, such a fabulous work of love on this heart!! :D Your inlaying has surely been long and tedious but such wonderful result, it seem stitched! Love how the sentiment fits in the little white heart and the elegant embossing with the banners!
Here is raining, autumn and winter seasons given us really a lot of water, so unusual in my zone! But not snow, I'm a bit jealous of yours LOL :D
Stay warm and cosy at home and enjoy crafting!
Big hugs and love across the miles!

This is so beautifully done, Carol. Really like the papers you used. My Jim asked me if I saw this card posted yet? I told him I hadn't had the time yet, and he told me to come and take a look. He was impressed! He likes to do the inlay cards too, and he knows how much time they take to make.

I love this card Carol! First off I am loving the color combo, I think red and black is always a beautiful combo, but the added gray and white is so elegant. Secondly that heart die is amazing, I love that you inlayed the pieces with that red polka dot cardstock as well as those little tiny hearts! The fishtail banners are perfect, and that embossing folder....well I'm in love with it! lol We got 14 inches of snow here, not including all the sleet we got too. Flurried on and off all day on Tuesday, but then finally cleared off. Yep, talking about more snow come Sunday again! I guess we are due but it doesn't mean we have to like it. lol Although I'm not going anywhere so it doesn't effect me, it is Bret I worry about with his commute to work. Hugs, Brenda

Cor blimey missus... all that paper piercing - A-MAZ-ING. Honestly you've blown my mind, some of those pieces are teeny tiny and I'm tipping my hat to you for having such patience. It definitely paid off because the heart is the true star of your card but I'm also partial to the baby hearts... too cute!

What a glorious Valentine's Day card x

This is so pretty! The pieced heart looks fantastic and must have been a work of patience to fit all the bits in the right places - but so worth the effort! It looks fantastic!!

Thanks for joining us at Little Red Wagon this week!

This is awesome! How do you keep your sanity and keep all those little pieces from getting lost before you get them glued down? Is there a trick?

Claire Grantham said...

This is fabulous! And having just done this recently, I know how much patience you have to have to glue in all those little pieces. Love that you used a spotty paper for the inlay. Thanks for joining us this time at Retro Rubber. Claire DT

So much detail on this terrific card. The banners look so pretty over that embossed panel. I admire your patience to piece all those little paper bits inside that heart! I love the teeny matching heart at the bottom.
