Paper Hug

Hello and happy Friday everyone!
I put this card together with snippets of dsp that seemed to coordinate well with one another and placed it on a kraft card base. I created a different herringbone pattern this time by leaving spaces between the cut pieces instead of placing them right next to each other, and then cut the whole piece with a Lil Inker stitched rectangle die.
The butterfly was cut from white and kraft and layered with a big sandy- colored gemstone in the center.

I made this card for the Butterfly Challenge #151 but I didn't use everything on the list. I tried an orange butterfly but didn't like the contrast, so I used the dsp with the pastel orange colors instead. Here's the list of challenge elements...

I did the herringbone, used the color of sand and added my butterfly, but that's all my brain could handle LOL

Thanks for stopping by and make it a great day whatever you do!

Carol

This is beautiful, Carol. I like how you left the spacing between the strips...You know how much I like that technique that you showed me, I have used it many times on my cards...

I had forgotten that I had given you some Iris folding patterns. Did you ever try doing a card using Iris Folding. (it's usually fun to to do, Honest!)

The colors you used on this card are perfect. Not every butterfly or moth has to be fancy colors. Your combination of patterned papers is excellent and the stitching is a great compliment. Great job!
