Twofer #33 - Stars

The current Twofer challenge #33 has a theme of stars and here is what the challenge calls for:

I used a Simon Says Stamp star border die to create stars on both cards.

First up is the Birthday card, done with snippets of red, white, and blue designer paper, along with a horizontal border of punched stars (using a SU! mini star punch) as well as the SSS star border that was cut in navy and white, and yes, I exchanged all those tiny white stars into the navy for sharp contrast. I find doing that therapeutic - until a star gets lost and I have to find it! Therapy then turns right into frustration! Hah! The larger layered star was done with a Sweet'n Sassy set of star dies and I added a decorative brad to the center. The sentiment is a SSS pre-printed sentiment that I layered with red and called this one done.

Next up is the Christmas card, made with a SSS Wishing trees die that was cut with sparkly gold SU! paper, as well as hunter green cardstock. Again I carefully swapped the gold tree negatives with the green ones and placed it on a snowy background done with a SU! softly fallen embossing folder. The little stars were cut from sparkly red cardstock using the SSS star border die, and I added a Memory Box Star of Wonder die-cut star to the largest tree, adding a greeting done with Cottage Cutz dies.

Crafting for me has become diminished as life takes twists and turns that keeps me busy doing other things now. I'm always glad for your visits and sweet comments, and I appreciate your time spent with me here even though it's less than it's been in quite some time. Thanks for your patience :)

Now go have a wonderful day and take good care of yourself!

Carol

So many stars, bet you kept seeing stars for a while after you finished. 2 really great cards, I am definitely with you on the die cut inlaying - I love it too, but the downside is that I almost always lose just 1 piece, spend ages looking for it, cut it again only for the missing piece to turn up! Talk about time wasting, but I do love these cards, thanks for your visit to me too xx

Like a lot of us, you aren't posting as often, Carol, but you sure make each post special! That first patriotic birthday card was SUCH a lot of work and it's amazing! I know what you mean about inlaying being therapeutic. I feel the same way ... up to a point, lol! And your line-up of pretty evergreens topped with stars is so pretty on your snowy Christmas card! I love those CC sediment dies. I hope things stop pulling you in a hunnert different directions soon. Think of you both often. Thank you so much for playing in TCC #33! Keep safe and well! Hugs, Darnell

Awesome job, two totally different designs. I always like seeing patriot cards, it's very warming and you make lovely ones. As you know I also like tradition Christmas colours so you've nailed that card too x

So much detailed star-iness, Carol ... what a fabulous twofer! The inset white stars on the navy panel are so eyecatching ... and are wonderfully complemented by the red star border and brad embellished main star! Love that the brad mimics the panel so beautifully! The snowy background texture behind those gold edged Christmas trees is delicious ... the tiny stars and the more ornate grand one really pop against it! Thanks so much for playing along with us at Twofer! Anita :)

Wow Carol, these are both really brilliant! There is something about stars that I just love the look of and I think they're so versatile and can be used in many different ways for occasions and holidays...which you've brilliantly shown here! OMG...those pieces stars! These are both beautiful cards! Hope all is well! Take care.

I am in awe of all the inlaid work these two cards have. The red, white and blue card is so beautiful. A wonderful blend of all different stars with a fun brad to top it off. The Christmas card is stunning as well.
