Lately I've been seeing this older technique of water coloring on black done around blogland, so I dug out my trusty Derwent watercolored pencils and gave it a try myself.
I used the SSS/GinaK Designs Stamptember 2019 Festive Flower image, stamped with Versamark and heat-embossed with gold. I used my water colored pencils to color the image and added a green, red, and gold gemstone, along with a heat-embossed gold sentiment. Originally I stamped/embossed the sentiment directly onto the card, but didn't align it in a straight line, so I opted to cover it up with a die-cut label instead :)
Here's a bit of a side angle so you can see the shine and shimmer of the colors. I just love how this turned out!
I'm sharing it with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge which is to "stamp it." Can you believe it's the "Stamptember" celebration a year later already?!
I'll also share with the Merry Little Christmas Challenge Blog #26 - September anything goes
Thanks for stopping by and have yourself a wonderful day!

This is just outstanding. Those colors are stunning and look fantastic on the black. Is this watercolor card stock or just black cardstock?

Carol, this one is stunning! The gold embossing is a great extra touch. I've tried the water color pencils on black and enjoyed it, but I wasn't that proud of my attempt. Your card might make me pick up those pencils and give it another shot! Thanks for sharing!
