Woodgrain Birthday Card

I thought I had this new blogger figured out, but today it wants to underline everything I type and changes the font color to blue, so I'm going to keep this post brief before I lose my sanity! This is the third attempt at posting it without blue fonts and underlined text! I had to revert back to the old blogger format to get it to do what I wanted it to do!

This card was made with snippets of woodgrain dsp, kraft and vanilla cardstocks, a GMD Venetian Label die set and a Stampendous sentiment. The stars were done with gold mirror card and a retired mini punch from SU!

I'll enter this into the following challenges:

Just Us Girls Challenge #548 - die cut a window
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge - use your favorite tool (Tonic paper cutter)
Crafty Calendar Challenge - August anything goes

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you're having a good weekend!

EDIT: If you have questions, please leave a way for me to contact you in your comments. For M-A Lynch who asked if there is a technique for making this card, I used this YouTube link.

I love the array of woodgrain paper and the way you've placed them on the card front with all the different angles. It's a great idea for a masculine card and makes use of lots of off cuts and... lol sorry I keep thinking of things, would make a pretty background for flowers x

Morning Carol. Just love the look of this card. Just loving the shaped columns. What is this technique called, please, so I can find out how to do it. So enjoy reading your blogs and learning from you. XX Mal, Melbourne, Australia.

Great card. Thanks for the inspiration for a masculine card. I need those! So far I am doing OK with the new blogger. Sure does take time to figure it out and lots of editing. I hope you will be happy with it before too long. We are stuck with it.

Beautiful card design. I am glad you got it posted too. I am not a fan of the new blogger so I switched back.

Great snippets card. I thought I was doing fine with new Blogger but now it wants to give me double spacing for some reason best known to itself. Sure it will settle down eventually

Love this, Carol! Such a fabulous masculine card! Love the woodgrain panels and your big ole sentiment! Thanks for the link on how to make the panels! I will have to give this a try! Yes, Blogger is being a pain in the rear the last week or so! I hope they soon get things figured out and stop changing things! I hate change! TFS and stay cool! Another hot week ahead unfortunately!

This is cool! I love it,fun way to use up those scraps!
I thought I had the blogger thing figured out too...and recently I found when I was continuing to write the post after adding a link, it wanted to underline and link everything afterwards! If you look up at the toolbar, you'll see the link icon is orange or red. Just click on that and tell it to go away! I think I'll try adding my links after I write everything and see if that helps! It would also move my pictures to the left even when I had them centered. They sure aren't making it easy and I think they offered it too quickly, before they worked out the bugs!!

Egads, I'm getting nervous about doing a post now Carol! I'm glad you were able to get this card posted though as it is a fabulous manly card! I love the wood grain paper strips and the shinny stars. That shape for the sentiment is great too, kinda retro looking. Sorry you had so many issues trying to post it though. Changes aren't always easy! Hugs, Brenda

This is a great look for a masculine card. I love the wood grain and the strips are a good use of scraps too. I am worried about learning the new blogger and haven't ventured there yet, only when I'm forced to.

A fabulous card. You are not alone, the new blogger hates me, too. I am also having problems with the underlining. I also get double line spacing and was unable to preview. I had no idea what my blog was going to look like when it posted yesterday. I had to type my blog using a word document and then I copied and pasted. Only way I could not have everything underlined. I sure hope they work the bugs out soon. Some of my friends are not having the issues that we are.

Hi Carol

Another great card .. .. perfect for those awkward men folk with all the woodgrain!

Mr Blogger has been playing up for me too. It took me over an hour to do the most simple and straightforward post today.

Hopefully it will all sort out soon.

Love Jules xx

Great card Carol - I must have a go at that technique - it seems so popular right now. Using the woodgrain paper is so effective too. Blogger had me climbing the walls yesterday - from the word go, adding labels has been a nightmare and they still haven't sorted it out! I reverted to the old interface to do part of my Sunday Snippets post!

Hugs
