Warm Wishes

In this current heat wave we're going through in our part of the world, it's difficult to think of warm beverages, but I wanted to play along with the Just Us Girls Challenge #550 which uses this photo for inspiration:

I used a set of Penny Black dies to create the cup, tag, heart, and steam coming from the cup and used random bits of watercolor paper done with Nuvo shimmer powder.  I added a little glitter glue to the steam for some sparkle. There's no red in the inspiration photo, but for some reason I was just drawn to add the red color along with a piece of red and blue dsp for the background. I used Lil Inker stitched rectangle dies, along with a MFT fishtail flag banner die set for the white heat-embossed sentiment panel and called this one done.

Thanks for the visit, and I hope you're having a good day!

Carol

Love, love, love! This is so pretty, Carol! I agree with you on the hot drinks since it's scorching hot out but I still have my cup of coffee every morning! LOL I love your cup and tea bag! The red cardstock just pops here and also goes nicely with the red in your patterned paper! Awesome job on the challenge! TFS and stay cool! I'm so sick of this heat! Blah!!!

Boy isn't that the truth?! We had those couple of nice days and now are back to the 3 H's. Fall is coming! Right?!! lol I love your card and I do have a little hot beverage when the AC is feeling cold to me. Of course all one has to do it walk outside and you will heat up right away. lol I love the paper you used on this card, loving the smooshed inky background your cup is sitting on too. But it is the cupa cupa that is stealing the show! What a great little die! Love the tea bag hanging out of the cup. So cute and the sentiment is perfect. Hugs, Brenda

I totally agree!! I just can't drink hot tea in the summer heat. I'm ready for some cooler temps and hot tea with French Vanilla creamer!! Your card is adorable. That touch of red really make it pop.

I think the red has been a great choice to make the blue air and the cup pop out! The little tag/teabag is just adorable, as well the hot curly steam! Great design, well done!!
