Thinking of You

I'm trying to use up some of the paper pads I've accumulated through the years but I seriously doubt I'll live long enough to accomplish that goal! LOL This card was made with the DCWV Linen Closet paper pad that I just love, yet I'm just not overly pleased with how this card turned out. The sketch is a favorite of mine from the days of OWH but my MoJo just took a hike when I put this together by the looks of it. I used a SU! hexagon punch to back the largest I.O. die-cut button which I threaded with a thin strip of matching dsp. The 3 little buttons were done the same way. The greeting is from SU's Sincere Salutations stamp set from 2005.

I'll share this with the Retro Rubber Challenge #139 - buttons!

RRCB 139

Thanks so much for the visit, and I hope your day is going well. Take care!

Carol

How do you cut a strip of paper that thin, I've seen you do this before and every time I have to look twice to make sure its not thread. I love the subtle blends of colours and patterns mixed with the different die cuts, those buttons... so cute, look real x

Beautiful card Carol, I love the colours. I could live several lifetimes and I still wouldn't use up all my patterned paper! LOL! xx

I knew I recognized this paper Carol! I have this paper pack too and I love it. There is nothing wrong with your card Carol, it is beautiful but maybe you would have liked it better if you would have layered the pieces with a darker color, like a darker brown or black, it would have made the papers pop more. I know what you mean about being overly pleased with it, it's how I feel about a lot of my cards. lol Hugs, Brenda

Darling card and great combo of patterned papers! I'm with you on that lifetime supply but still find ones I have to have! That's part of the fun.

I just love it, Carol! I remember making cards with this kind of sketch years ago! The paper and design are wonderful! I really love those buttons! Pat yourself on the back for a job well done! I think I can safely say that we all have SO much paper that we'll likely never use up in our lifetimes! I always say that I could wallpaper every house in my neighborhood and still have some left! Haha! Have a great day & stay cool!!! Hugs~

Awww it's beautiful Carol I love the papers and design great die-cut buttons -I would need a couple of lifetimes too-Holly(11yrs) was in my craft room yesterday decorating a wooden heart had all my sprays out-she is more into mixed media than using papers -and she had one request -"can I have all your craft stuff when you stop making cards?" lol do you think she knows something I don't lol

Oh yes! I hear what you say about using up the paper stash! These papers are such soft and lovely colours, I'm sure this one will get used up. The die cut buttons are sweet and I just don't know how you get the paper thin enough to use as thread! Thanks for joining in with us at Retro Rubber Challenge.

Carol, I think all crafters are the same, I doubt I will ever use all the paper I have amassed, but I am trying LOL. Love your use of buttons, they are so pretty and match your papers beautifully. Thanks for joining us at Retro Rubber this time. Claire DT
