Happy Thanksgiving!

Fortunately again this year I don't have to cook a big Thanksgiving dinner as we've been invited out to a friend's house, where 30 or more people will share the meal together. I always take a side dish to share, but I also make a little treat for everyone too. This year I started out making bag-a-lope treats but quickly decided to create something a bit easier to put together. The bottoms of the envelope containers are somewhat fiddly to assemble, so I experimented with some regular copy paper and designed a smaller but similar bag that sits up nicely without falling over. The 3 bags in the background were made from envelopes, while the ones in front were made with copy paper and vellum. This is a great way to use those smaller snippets of dsp and ribbon too. Each bag has a Lawn Fawn stitched leaf, along with a Tags 4 You Thanksgiving punched sentiment and a little piece of ribbon. Some of you will recognize those retired SU! dsp's I've been hoarding for way too long :)

Here's a sampling of 3 more with a bag-a-lope in the background. The bag on the right was stamped with a very old un-named SU! stamp set and colored with markers. Cute, but too time consuming to make many of those LOL

Here's another sampling of some that I've made. I just couldn't photograph all 30 together, so I've shared just a few. If anyone wants the directions for making them, I'll gladly share, so feel free to ask. These could be made with card stock, but I chose copy paper so they wouldn't be too heavy. Each one holds 4 different pieces of candy.

I'm going to share these with the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge which is "anything goes."

Thanks for stopping by and for those who celebrate, have a happy, healthy and blessed Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for each and every one of you!

WOWzers, Carol, you were on a roll and what a way to use up your stash! I love each & everyone of these! I tried the bag a lope using a small Kraft Bag and I ran into the same problem, they kept falling over. I'm sure these were well loved at your Thanksgiving Day dinner and what a way to present an after dinner treat! Love, love, love! :)

These are beautiful!! Must have taken a long time to make so many, specially when they are all different, but I know they made a special little take home gift for the recipients. Thanks for playing with The House That Stamps Built. (Sorry you had trouble with the linky.)
