I saw this card on Claire's blog and knew with my warped sense of humor I had to case it immediately, so I made several cards with this off-color pun :) My brother-in-law will be celebrating his birthday in a few days, so this is going to him. I know he'll get a kick out of it!
While rummaging through my snippets box I found the die-cut word "OH" (SSS) and knew it would be perfect for the pieced sentiment. The I.O die-cut "4" was also found in my snippets box, and since it was red, I went with a red card base. The fox was stamped with a Lawn Fawn stamp and colored with Copics, while the word "sake" was stamped with a Hero Arts stamp set. The "it's your Birthday" was done with a Sweet 'n Sassy stamp set, and the balloons were done with a Martha Stewart punch and snippets of card. I hand-drew the balloon strings with a fine black marker and and added some white gel pen highlights and called this one done. Thanks for the inspiration to make this card Claire - I can't stop giggling :) What makes it even funnier is that I'm pretty sure I used a skunk image instead of a fox. LOL
I stamped the little skunk over and tried to turn him into a fox with a little help from markers and coloring. I cut him out and placed him over top of the skunk on the card above. If it wasn't so pathetic, it would be almost comical how I don't see things until I post them on the blog, and then the shock factor kicks in after I realize what I've done! Now maybe with the combination fox/skunk, it can be read as "oh for funk's sake, it's your birthday?"
(I'm old, just deal with me) LOL

OMGosh, this is to funny Carol! I love this card, it is snarky but way to cute. I love the play on words and your little fox looks like a fox to me, so even if it was a skunk, it made an adorable little fox. Love, love, love! Hugs, Brenda
